Mini smirked, "Nothin' dat life changin'. Just bored out of my mind and of course dere's always da fact dat I have ta get use ta everyone and know when ta keep my mouth shut." She grinned turned wicked, ""Course I haven't mastered dat trait."

Coop nodded, smiling. "Seems to be a story behind that one."

"Is dat da story for you? Or is dere somethin' else dat made ya look so sinister?" She watched him looking for anything that would give away what he had been thinking about when he had sat down next to her.

Coop stayed cool. He shrugged casually.
"I inheret my looks from me pop. Can't help that he looked sinister."
He looked at her, patiently waiting for her to tell him somethin...if there even was somethin.

Mini carefully masked her real emotions and smiled, when she felt like frowning, "No one can help what dey look like, but dey can help how dey act. But dat didn't answer my question." She watched him expectantly.

"There aint no story for me," he answered plainly. "You mind tellin' me 'bout you?"
He wouldn't force her to, but he thought he at least deserved an answer, even if that answer was no.

Mini raised an eyebrow, she realized that he was evading her question. Shrugging she said, "Dere's nothin' special about my story. Afteh my muddeh died when I was 14, my fadduh and me moved heah ta New York. My father lost his job a few months ago, though we haven't figured out why." She rolled her eyes, sighing she continued, "So heah I am," she stood up and spinned around, "a newsie." Smirking she sat back down.

He smiled and nodded. "I never would 'a guessed." He turned in his chair and leaned back against the counter, looking straight. "You got the New York spunk. The Brooklyn smirk." He turned his head to her. "My guess would'a been Brooklyn." He shrugged. "Maybe even 'Hattan 'round Hell's Kitchen. And then a newsie on top 'a that?" He shook his head.

Mini made a mistake and bit a chunk off her ice cream. It was cold really cold. Her hands flew to her temple as a brain freeze hit. As the brain freeze stopped she looked at him smiling ruefully, "I'm in neiddah. I'm from Queens. And of course I'm a newsie..." she trailed off as she realized she didn't know his name, "Ya know I don't think I know ya name."

Coop looked at her for a moment, smiling from her brain freeze. There was a glitch of something in his eye that was undescribable.
"Coop," he said holding out his hand. "And you are?"

"Mini," she looked at her hand and then spit in it and shook his hand. "If I'm gonna be a newsie I'd betteh start actin' like one. Hand shake and all," She didn't know if he would mind or not, but she didn't really care for the most part. "So are ya a newsie or what?" If she couldn't get his whole story she might try for bits and pieces.

Coop looked at his hand and then back at Mini. He wiped his hand inconspicuously onto his pants. "Uh, no. Aint no money in that." He could see what she was doing and decided to just tell her. "Like you, there's nothin too big about my life either. I was born in Brooklyn. I never knew me father. He was hardly ever around then died when I was younger. As for my mother, she's around here somewhere." He grinned. The truth was he didn't know where his mother was. She could be dead too for all he knew.

Mini noticed him wiping his hand on his pants, tried to hold in her smile, which turned into a smirk. She couldn't help it, it was a bit funny considering there were things much worse then someone elses spit. "Must've been a hard life not knowin' ya fadduh," she didn't say it with sympathy, but with compassion. She had learned never to give someone sympathy, but compassion.

Coop shrugged. "Nah. Anyway, those were ol' time. People say a boy needs a father figure. I never had one and look how good I turned out."
Coop puffed out his chest jokefully. Coop had had a father figure in his life. In fact, he was the person that introduced Coop to the life he loved so much.

Mini took her index finger and pushed his inflated chest. Laughing she said, "Oh yeah, real macho man ain't ya? And all by youh lil ol' self."
