"Didn't know it was a game." He said. "My family had some trouble, so I'm here to make some money. I keep what I need, and send back what I don't." He explained. "My family works for a nice 'ole man on a cattle farm. I'm a buckaroo... um, more comonly know as a cowboy in these parts." He said. "Quite handy with a horse, stubborn as a mule, and, like a coyote, survives whether I'm alone or with friends and family." He recited. It was how his father had always described Buckaroos. "There were a drought, and we lost a good bit of the vaquero... uh, cattle... so we lost a good deal of money. So I told 'em I'd help by coming here and getting whatever job I can."
He shrugged, "My father sent some letters, and I have an apartment and work as a stable hand." He told her.

Cards nodded throughout Buck's story. He was one of the few she'd met in her travels that had an honest and noble reason for doing what they were doing. Most of them were just running. Like her. "S' not a game." she said. "You'se got one hell of a good heaht tah do dat foah you'ah family. I'se dunno if I'd 'ave enough sand tah even try."

Buck shrugged, "Well, they needed help..." He tried to talk normally, but he was a little confused on why she wouldn't do it for her family. "I mean, what else was I supposed to do?" He asked.
He smiled, "And thank you." He said, looking around the city. "Have you eaten recently?" He asked, because he was pretty hungry himself.

Cards bit her lip, catching the confused look on Buck's face. She knew she shouldn't have said what she did about her family. She didn't know him well enough to get into that. As soon as Buck asked if she was hungry, her first instinct was to lie and say 'no', but her stomach game a rebellious growl and she ducked her head. "Yeah, a little."

Buck smiled and gave a low, soft chuckle. "Well, you're welcome to join me... that is, when I find a nice place to eat." He told her. He stopped and looked around. "How about that way?" He said, pointing to some buildings. "There's gotta be something good that way." He turned to walk there, but waited a second for Cards to either follow, or tell him where there actually was a place to eat.

Buck scratched his head. "Well, I think I passed one on the way." he said. "Had a name like Mcginny's... or something similar to that." He said, turning towards where it was. "I didn't know what a pub was." He said, thinking of his town. They had a general store, an inn, houses, the jail, and one diner where he rarely ate. "To be honest, i still don't know." He said, rubbing the back of his neck, thinking. "Like a diner?" He asked, looking at her.

Buck smiled and shook his head, "Well, let's go to this pub, so I can see it.". He sighed, "Well, I guess I do got a lot to learn." He admited. He started walking, his steps long, yet slow. From a distance, you'd think he was walking slow, but he covered more ground in one step; he may move slow, but he got where ever just as fast as anyone else. "I could eat anything, the food they served on the train, not to offend anyone, wasn't that good." He said. He honestly didn't want to speak meanly (I can't think of any other word... so I'm just stick with meanly... which bother's me... but, as I said... I don't know what else to put there) towards the cook of the train, even though he'd probably never see them again.
((sorry... gotta go... you can make the first post there))

Cards laughed at the food crack. Train food wasn't any good. She'd learned that right quick. "To da pub it is!"

New Day
Frenchie wandered along, absentmindedly. She had her arm laced through a small basket, and was carrying an open book, but she was more concentrated on the scenery than the story.
You'd expect that she'd run into some large, concrete object right about now, but (shockingly), she made it over to a shaded bench without any mishaps and took a seat. She turned her attention to her book and began reading (mind you, as usual, the book was upside down).

((New Day))
"Munks, you better get back here!" Digit yelped, tearing after the little primate. She'd been chasing him all over, trying to get a hold of the dime he had clenched in his little hand. That was her lunch money, for crying out loud! The monkey, however, had other ideas. he ran right up a tree and looked down at her, grinning. "This is what I get for rescuing him." Digit grumbled. "Stay up there all day then! See if I care!"

"I have no idea." Digit sighed, rubbing her forehead. "Bloody ape." Munks, as though to make his human counterpart even more annoyed, dropped a pinecone on her head. "I'm gonna ring your neck, you demon!"
