"I'm healed up again. I'm sure it won't last long, though," she said quietly. "You know how the boss can be. He didn't like me hanging around newsies much."
She picked up two slices of bread. "Split a sandwich with me, hon?"

The corner of Delaney's mouth turned up a little as she nodded.
"Seems they can be trouble...or so I hear."
With the recent war and now the Raconteur's, the newsies seemed to have a lot to deal with.

Aura got out some cheese and slid it between the bread slices. She cut the sandwich in half and held half out to Delaney.
"They are trouble, some of 'em, but some of 'em are good kids, y'know? Just... this Flick guy and I had a thing, and I kind of liked him."

Delaney smiled a thank you and took a bite from the sandwhich.
"Liked? What happened?"

"He got scared off... he wanted to attack the bosses for hurting me, and I told him to back off. I don't want him getting hurt, not over me. I ain't worth it, you know?"

"Yeah..." she trailed off. Her eyes circled toward the ground. "I've never heard of him. Where's 'e from?"

"Bronx, I think. Maybe Harlem. I don't remember. He was really handsome, too," she said, giggling.

Delaney smiled genuinely. She shrugged. "Maybe you'll see 'im again. He's gotta be somewhere."

Delaney snorted. "You gotta stop doubtin' yourself!'
She was becoming a litle irritated so her accent stuck out more then it usually did. "Feelings just don't go away. If you still feel the same way more likely than not he still feels the same about you."

"He seems like the kind of boy that has a lot of girlfriends, if you know what I mean." She sighed.

Delaney sighed and looked at the ground. It seemed like this Aura, though she knew a lot, still had a lot to learn. Delaney pulled out what looked like a regular piece of coal. Sh eheld it out for Aura to see. "What do you see here?"

Delaney smiled. She covered the piece of coal with her free hand and sqeezed it. When her hand reopened the piece of coal was actually a small jewel. "It's a trick my mother taught me. A way of hiding your jewels."
She placed it back into her pocket. "The point I'm trying to make is that not everything is as it seems. He could be thinking the same about you right now."

"If I can find him, I'll let him know. That was an interesting trick, Delaney," Aura said, grinning.
