He grinned at her and nodded. He sat up, stretching. "I haven't slept like thant in a long time." He felt something when he was around her. A strange sense of protection, but something else. Something he couldn't quite put his finger on.

Murder nodded and getured to the hammock, showing that her hammock was his for the time being. She could find another for herself. At least until maybe Ace gave him proper arrangements.
She paused for a moment, then grabbed a piece of paper, writing.
Sorry. But to help keep you save. and keep an eye out. Who exactly is looking for you?
Becaues of her father, she knew a lot of the gangs and their movements. If it was a particular group, she could tell him which areas to stay clear off, what jobs he could do.
She could finally be of real use to someone, more than just the side kick. And for some reason she couldn't explain. She couldn't think of someone she'd rather be doing this for, but Coop.

"Uh, the Gang of Brooklyn, or somethin' like that," he said, his eyes turning upward. The truth is that he was so calm his whole way of thinking was the complete opposite than before, which was a good and bad thing.

Murder patted him gently. She pulled out her Brooks card and ripped it up, smiling. Well...we'll just keep you outta there, then!
'hattan wouldn't be the safest place, either, but she wasn't worried about that--it took a lot to get her to step foot in that burrough.

Coop was now very content, but something kept popping up in the back of his mind. Emmanuelle. Her eyes were heavy and dark and her voice seemed like it had become more gravelly. He hadn't told her he was leaving. He couldn't risk her telling. The others would've known and beat the truth out of her. She had always been a lousy liar. He smiled thinking about old times. He need ed to know what had been going on since he left and how things are going now. He didn't know where she was staying. All he knew is that she worked at that resturant.

Murder sighed softly, blowing a curl out of her face with a small smirk to him. She was worried about him being out alone--but something seemed to be weighing on his mind, despite his show of contentment. Tapping him lightly, she pointed outward with her thumb. She would let him go. But if he wanted her around, she would follow. Her eyes met his, her dark eyes sparklin'. He'd come back. Even if he left..where else would he sleep? She laughed softly.
Besides...couldn't get rid of Murder that easily...

He turned up one corner of his mouth into a half smile. "I'll come back," he promised. He kissed her on the cheek and ran out the door, not even noticing what he did until he was half way down the stairs.

Murder sat in the chair for a moment, blinking. ...okay... Shaking herself out of her stupor, she smiled softly, putting his pack neatly in the corner, and going back to her book. Ace should be home soon, and she had some 'splain' to do.

It was actually near enough to twenty minutes later when Ace came back, something squirming in his arms. "Murder?" He called, opening the door to upstairs and smiling. "Hey....i got ya somethin." He gently set the puppy in his arms down, chuckling when the small fuzzy ball of energy ran in circles, excited to be on his own four paws again. Spying Murder, he cocked his head to the side and gave a joyful little bark.

Murder's eyes widened when she saw the puppy, kneeling as it ran into her arms. It gave her face an appreciative lick as she hugged it. She stood and walked over to Ace, pointing to the dog, meaning both for its name and why he had gotten it for her.
Ace was the best.
This was better than jewels and riches. This was a companion from her best friend.

Ace grinned, hands in his pockets. "His name's Spot." Not even waiting to get an answer on this one, he shook his head, "Naw, im just kiddin. His name's Asher." He had been on his way home when he had reached this idea.
With a puppy, Murder wouldn't go anywhere really alone, and if she did, he could trust Asher to take care of her. Dog's were man's best friend after all, and very protective of their masters. "Do you like him?"

Murder cursed as she got a few tears in her eyes as she nodded. Putting the dog down, she gave Ace a huge hug, givving him a kiss on his cheek appreciatively.
Asher, happy with his new surroundings, began to root about, hopping on Coop's bag playfully.
Murder smirked and poked Ace. He really shouldn't have, but she was really glad he did.

Ace smiled, ruffling her hair. "I wanted to, dahlin." He whistled lightly and Asher came bounding over, putting two paws on his leg. Rubbing the puppy's head, he grinned at Murder. "Besides, you can think of me when im not around now."

Murder made a face of disgust playfully, then laughed softly. Ace and Coop were the only ones able to break her shell--Ace more so, but that was because she had known him the longest and considered him a brother.
She leaned down and kissed the dog's head. Asher, growled playfully and went around to her back, hopping on, putting his head on her's, them both a mess of fur and curls.

Ace laughed, sinking into a chair, eyes sparkling. It was great to see Murder all happy. He would rather she spoke, but ever since he had first met her, he realized something...it didn't matter if she spoke or not. Because it wasn't about the spoken words. Never had been.
"Hey...whose is that?" He asked, looking at the stuff Coop had left behind.
