She nodded. "Ok.."she said looking down at his arm and then placing her arm through it. She smiled blushing a bit and glanced over at Isabela. "Hes such a gentleman."She said and then lookedup at him and grinned.

Isabela looked at him but shook her head that she'd be just fine without it. Not to be rude, but... just being herself. She much more enjoyed watching then partaking in this case anyway. It seemed she rather enjoyed playing match maker when it came to these newsies, though she wasn't doing it intentionally. She quietly walked along side them, listening to the conversation and smiled at Denim's statement, finding it nothing but the truth, the boy was quite nice.

Jackle dropped his other arm to let it rest on his side. He smiled at Isabela then turned to Denim. "Why thank you miss." They walked slowly towards the freedom of the Bronx. Jackle didn't much like brooklyn not after what he'd been hearing about spot and the others.

She colored and looked down. "Maybe when I come to visit Isabela next time youd like to come with?"She asked Jackle. "I dont really like coming here by myself."She said.

Jackle looked just slightly stunned but hid it when she said she didn't like coming here by herself. "I would be glad to." He really didn't want her getting hurt anyways and with Spot well yea. "Come on the faster we get out of here the safer we will be."

((New Day))
Cards strode along, her hands deep in the pockets of her trousers and a cigarette dangling from her mouth. The aura surrounding her was 'stay out of my bubble' and her eyes glared at everything suspiciously.

Lucky was playing cards, like she was prone to be doing, her hair fell around her shoulders and she snorted. She was playing solitaire again, there wasn't anyone around to play anything else with at the moment.
She lit her cigarette and blew the smoke into the wind as she muttered.

Cards whipped around at the sound of someone muttering. It was a girl. Cards smirked as she realized, even at a distance, that she was playing solitaire. She sauntered over. "You look a little boahd."

Lucky quirked an eyebrow at the newcomer and shrugged. "More or less, bein' told to sit on my hands isn't settling all to well with me.." She scanned the girl up and down, scruitinizing for various reasons. The first was to see if the girl was a threat, the second was looking for a weakness incase she had to hit the girl. She'd been having to punch people a lot lately.
"What bring you ta Brooklyn?" Curiously, she tilted her head to the side.

Cards snickered. Having an order like that given to her wouldn't have gone over very well either. Though, in Cards' case, she probably would have done more than just play cards. She saw the girl look her over and held up her hands to show that she meant no harm. "I'se lookin' tah find a place tah lay me head. Maybe make a little money." She shrugged. "Da usually, I s'pose."

Lucky leaned back a bit, and scanned the girl before she shrugged. Whatever. "The lodgin houses around here have spare bunks, Brooklyn ain't far but, Conlon ain't around right now." She wasn't going to elaborate on why but, she sighed a bit. "You got to deal with Smalls if you want a place to stay int he mean time.." Her eyes narrowed a bit before she shrugged. "Sellin' papers, gamblin', there are lots of ways to make money. This is New York.."

"Yeah, I'se already had a tangle wit' Smalls." Cards said, nodding. She didn't catch what was going on with Conlon and for once, she wasn't going to pry. "I'se nevah been a newsie afore, but gamblin' I c'n do."
((I wasn't sure how to put in that I was talking to smalls in another thread. sorry if it's wrong.))

Lucky smirked a bit, "Smalls is one of my best friends, maybe you shouldn't have openned you're mouth the way you did." Her eyes narrowed, it wasn't clear what was running threw the girl's mind. "She's not one to mess with and frankly, if you're gonna survive in Brooklyn you need to learn two things. A, Spot runs the show, even when he ain't here, we know what he expects of us. B, we aren't like the little fairies out in Queens.. we don't play nice out here. We're here for a reason, and you don't want to cross any of us." She folded her arms and snorted when she said she gambled. Lucky ground her teeth a bit, and shook her head. "We're all gamblers in life. It's how it is."

Cards sighed as she realized the wrong wording in what she said. "I'se didn' mean nuttin'. I'se on'y meant dat I a'wready talked to her." Then she smirked. "An' I'se didn' t'ink you was a bunch o' pansies. I'se wouldn' be heah if you was." She paused, grinning slightly about Lucky's gambling comment. "I know we'ah all gamblers. Why d'you t'ink me name was Cards?"

Lucky snorted, she didnt' relax but now she had to test the girl. After all, if Smalls had talked to her, Lucky had to have her say as well. ".. a name dont' mean nothin, but, hey, they call me Lucky and my beau tells me all I do is steal his.." She watched the girl threw calm eyes before she spoke again. "You do need to learn how it works around here though, Cards. You open that mouth of yours and someone is gonna be offended, and not all of them talk before they start swinging." And truth be told, she was one of them most of the time. But she was honestly kind of trying to go threw a whole day without hiting someone.
