"Well, maybe because im going to be living here from now on." He said with a smile. He could hardly get over it himself, but now that he thought about it. There had only been one answer to the question. He wanted a family.

Davey squeeled, hugging Blaize tightly, a big smile stuck on his face. "Really? Really really? I get another brother?" He looked to Peem and his mom, both of them nodding. "Gee!!" He got up and hugged them both, hopping all over the place singing some silly song he made up on the spot about getting another brother.

Blaize laughed, running a hand through his hair. "That about sums up my feelings, too, Davey." It was funny, but even though he had learned so much about himself that he had never known today... he felt exactly the same. Reaching over, he lightly smacked Peem in the back of the head. Just because.

Peem rubbed his head and shoved Blaize. "Ass..." He pouted. "...if you are like that, we wont bring out the surprise." Mrs. Hendry nodded. "Ach...yah two don't play nice, and ya don't get any o' the cake I made for dis occasion."

Blaize was going to send back a retort, but he caught the word 'cake' and held up his hands. "Im behaving." He said solemnly.

<<new day>>
Peem opened the door to his apartment, looking around. Some food was cooking on the stove, but it seemed his mother and brother were out--probably grabbing some last minute greenery or something.
"Home sweet home, Smokes." He smiled softly. "Make it your own."

Smokes hesitantly walked into the apartment, taking in her surroundings. It was nicer than anything she had ever been used to. The smell of the food made her realize how hungry she was. She nodded looking around. "Nice place."

Peem nodded, tossing his pack in a corner. "..You can stay in the back room to the left--smallish bed, but its comfortable enough."
Peem strode over to the stove, looking at what his mother was making. "Haggis! Yes!" He smiled happily, taking a taste before putting the lid back on.
"..Glad you like it."
Just then Mrs. Hendry and Davie came sliding up through the door.
Davie was his typical boundless ball of energy, giving Peem a big hug, asking about his day, paying no mind to Smokes just yet.
Mrs. Hendry gave her son a kiss, put the baguette she just bought on the table, and looked over at Smokes sweetly. "Seems my son keeps bringing kids home...staying with us?" She smiled kindly, her scottish accent thicker than her son's.

Smokes smiled sweetly and nodded. "Only for a little while."
She looked at how happy and bouncy Davie and how kind Mrs. Hendry was. They all looked like they got along and they all seemed to be a very loving and caring family.
She tried to remember her mother when she was still around. She was sweet enough, but never really hugged Smokes too much. And her father, he barely looked at her. Strange enough, though, she always felt closer to her father more than her mother.

Mrs. Hendry smiled and wrapped her arms around the girl, giving her a big hug before gesturing towards the table. "Glad ta have ya around lassie. Now I'm not so out-numbered!" She laughed good-naturedly. "..just have a seat."
Peem shot Smokes a smile before going to help his mother with the food--and Davie came and stood next to Smokes, regarding her. "So whereya come from? Whatcha do? huhuh? is that a real cigar?"

Smokes plopped down on the couch, smiling to Mrs. Hendry, when Davie came up to her. She moved her head back a little raising both eyebrows.
She wasn't really good with younger kids and had a hard time warming up to people. It was unusual for her to warm up to Peem as quickly as she did. Still, she tried her best to be frinedly.
She took the cigar out of her mouth and smiled. It was always in her mouth, she sometimes forgot it was even there. "Yes, nothin, and yes...in that order."

It was about then that the door reopened, and Blaize came in, his hat perched sideways on his head. Reaching up, he pulled it off and tucked it in his back-pocket, transfering a rose to his other hand. Smiling in greeting, he caught sight of Smokes, but didn't say anything. The only thing that said he saw her was the slight raising of his eyebrow.
Handing Mrs. Hendry the flower he kissed her cheek. He had a habit of running off rather early every morning, so he usually didn't see her on his way around.
"Hullo, Mum." He greeted in his british-accented voice. It was fading, the longer he stayed around his new family, and in New York in general, but it was still there.

Davie was going to ask Smokes a few more questions, but Blaize came in. "Blaize!" He came over and nearly tackled the other boy, giving him a big hug.
Peem looked over at Smokes. "...Smokes, Blaize, Blaize, Smokes." He looked over to his best friend. "Smokes will be staying with us from now on, okay?"

Hugging Davie back, Blaize ruffled his hair affectionately, looking up when Peem introduced them. "nice to meet you." He smiled, before nodding. "This isn't my house, if you wanted Puliter to stay here....Well, i wouldn't agree, but i wouldn't say anything either."
