Peem nodded. "Aye...tis sad state your mum wouldnt stand up behind yer father. For betta or worse." He shrugged. "But ya canna do nothing about it now, can ye?" A few moments later Mrs. Hendry came in, home a bit early for lunch. Seeing Blaize she smiled. "Ach...readin' over some love letter a lass sent ya?"

"No, and im kind of ashamed at her for that." He gave a small shrug of his shoulders. "I tell you, though, if i had known..I would have stood with him."
"Not quite, mum." He grinned, at her, not knowing what to say after that.

Peem nodded. "Well..guess you are more Irish than British..thank goodness." Mrs.Hendry put her hands on her hips, gesturing towards the letter. "Ach..then what is the lettter?"

"Seems that way." He grinned at Peem before looking up at his mother. "Well...one's from Britain...and one's from Ireland." He held them in his hands, glancing down at them. "You're free to read them if you want." He held them out to her.

Mrs. Hendry took the letter and read it, an exasperated look coming on her face. "...your mum thought she was doin' right by ya, but she was just savin' her own hyde!" She shook her head. "Ach..you a real orphan now." She hugged the boy. "...but ya don't have ta be."

Blaize hugged her back, pausing when her words registered. "....I dont?" Blinking, his eyes widened a bit. There was no way she was saying what he thought she was. That would just be too good to be true.

Mrs. Hendry shook her head. "Nah..Ya make money sellin' papes, and ya would neva be a burdin' on me or my otha boys..yous already one of the family, Blaize. Come live wid us." She and Peem had talked about it last night, and thought it would be the best thing for the now half-breed.

Blaize's mouth fell open a bit, but he closed it right back up. "Are you sure? I mean...I dont want to be intruding or anything..." He looked down, licking his dry lips. "And i'd be taking up room im sure you could use, and..."

Mrs. Hendry hit Blaize upside the head lightly. "Shut up, ya bairn! I wouldn't have offered if I didn't have da room or didn't want ya here!" She shook her head, a warm fire in her eyes, not unlike the one found in Peem's most days. He definitely was his mother's son.

A small grin split Blaize's face. "You know i cant say 'no' to you, Mum. So, all right. I'll come and live with you guys." Suddenly, everything didn't seem so clouded anymore. He had a family, and it was right here. Peem was smarter then Blaize sometimes gave him credit for.

Mrs. Hendry smiled and hugged Blaize. "Ach...now I gotta pretty blonde ta compliment the rest of us dark haired hellions" She laughed. "..i'm glad you are staying with us Blaize. Ya need a family." Peem smirked. "Just wait til Davey finds out.."

Blaize hugged the other back, smiling for real this time. "Im glad im staying too. Thank you doesn't seem like enough, im afraid." He brushed a piece of said blonde hair from his face.
Blaize grinned back at Peem, "Well, i guess i ended up with a pair of brothers after all, eh?"

Peem smirked. "...told you we would end up brothers." Mrs. Hendry laughed. "Ach..stop thankin' me...I aint havin' one of my own kids thankin' me all the time for letting them live here." She shook her head. At that moment Davey came bursting in the door, ready for lunch. Seeing Blaize he tackled the tall blonde. "B!"

Blaize looked a little sheepish. "Sorry, thats going to be a hard habit to break, Mum." Rolling his eyes at Peem, he didn't have a chance to say anything before he was tackled and he made that little 'oof' sound. Grinning wryly at Davey, he ruffled the kid's hair. "Heya...Guess i should get used to that now."

Davey's eyes got real big, more goldish blue than Peem's azul ones. "...ooh why you have to get used to it? Huh? huh?" Peem and Mrs. Hendry smirked but said nothing. Blaize got to tell him.
