He grinned, " A lovely name for a lovely young gel as yourself.." When she called him a charmer, Dodger couldn't help but chuckle. "Must be in me blood, Miss Isabela."

"And why would that be? ¿Dónde está usted?" Wait a minute, that hadn't come out right. She giggled a little at hersel. Just sometimes she couldn't help it, and she slipped back into her beautiful way of speaking Spanish. "I am sorry," she said with a smile. "Where are you from?" is what she meant to say. What she wanted to know was why charm was in his blood.

Dodger wiggled his eyebrows and smiled, "It is that to be sure. I like it here." Her smile was almost contagious, as was his. Dodger was always smiling for one reason or another, mostly laughing at other people. finding the humor in everything.

She nodded in agreement with him. "How long have you been in New York? Recently come over from England, or have you been here all your life?" she asked him. She then remembered the apple still in her hand so she took a small bite of it.

He shook his head, "Nah, I wasn't born here. I came over when I was ten, with me Mum." He shrugged and took a bite of his own apple grinning all the while. "What about you?"

"Came here a couple of months ago with my caravan. When they moved on I stayed behind to see the city," she said with a smile. "So far, I must say, it's been quite the adventure!" She loved New York.

Dodger grinned widely. "Well, if you ever need some company, or just want a chat, the Artfull Dodger is never far.." He winked, taking the bowler hat off his head and bowing low. The hat didn't belong to him, he'd return it eventually, next time he saw Lucky. Maybe, possibly. "Good day to you, Miss Isabela. I best be off, have an errand or two ta run.." And saying that he was gone.

Isabela watched him go. Why did that hat look so familiar? She'd seen it some where before... then again, all newsies wore hats of some kind. Surely one or two of them must have the same one. She shrugged it off as a coincidence and headed back to her tent, half-eaten apple in hand.
