"Stay outta Manhattan, or Bottle Alley? If it was the Alley that's understandable... it's a questionable area to begin with... not da safest place for a newsie, not mattah when or who." Prince thought about the newsie that Zero had talked about. Bad mood... she fiured out who it was then. "Skittery, you ran inta Skittery. He's a nice guy just... well a good mood isn't exactly common. He can be in a good mood at times, don't get me wrong, he's just... well, he is a nice guy, you're right," she said chuckling a little.

'Skittery? That's an interesting name... and he told me to stay out of Bottle Alley. I'm just wondering what he did to make it so newsies couldn't go in there, because he was running really fast. As for his attitude, as long as he's not a total jerk then I'm fine meeting him.
Uh, quick question... anyone I should look out for?'
She finished up her writing and massaged her hand, looking questioningly at Prince.

Prince smiled. "You're pretty good with that thing," meaning her speed on the chalkboard. "Whatch out for... hmmm... as far as newsies is concerned? Most are pretty nice. In general... don't go up against a leadah, especially when their in a bad mood. What I mean is don't fight 'em. That's me, Jack Kelly in manhattan, Ace in the Bronx, and Spot Conlon of Brooklyn. Though, it's gettin' hardah ta catch one of us in a bad mood, now dat da war's dyin' down a bit. But especially watch out for Spot. He's just tough is all... don't go makin' him mad, or you'll have people to answer too, and... well it won't be pretty. "
She thought about it for a second. "Oddah den dat most newsies is pretty nice. It's some of da non newsie folks ya gotta keep ya eyes open for. Da Delancey bruddahs for one. Usually deir in Manhattan, couple a' scabs. Just don't mess with them, period! Snyder too, I would suggest not crossin' his path. He knows your a newsie he'll make up a crime jus ta toss ya in da refuge. Most of da cops shouldn't be a problem 'round heah, deir usually nice, so long as ya stay outta trouble. "
And... that was pretty much it. "Really it's not all dat hard, jus be nice to da general population, an' dere won' be any problems," she said with a smile. "You're already on my good side aftah all."

'Don't anger leaders, be nice... okay, seems easy enough, and I'll try to stay outta the way of the Delancy's and Snyder... if I see 'em, anyway.'
Zero made a mental note to find out the easiest way to not anger Spot.
'Wait... there was a war going on? Like... a shooting/killing/bloody war?!' She looked a bit more nervous at the mention of the war, but quickly masked it with one of confusion.

"Uhhh... not the words I woulda used. There wasn't any shootin's. Guns are too expensive, an' I cain't think of any newsie who'd acctually shoot any body. As far as killin' goes, there was one casualty... which is acctually what started this whole mess in da foist place. Spike, a Brooklyn boy was killed... remembah dose Delancey boys I told ya 'bout? Yeah, they were behind it. But den dere was Snyder, and Leone... he's... a not so good guy either, and they convinced them to kill the kid. As far as blood is concerned, there was a little, but mostly black eyes an' a few bruises... one kid got hit with a knife once, but that's as bad as it got... and it wasn't a newsie who did it either." Prince explained. "But don't worry too much New York is a lot safer for newsies than it was just... two weeks ago. Just... pride that got in the way, that's all," she said nodding a little. Looking back on the whole thing that was the only reason she could find they'd all gotten so mad, was because of their pride.

Zero nodded. 'Oh... well, I'm glad it wasn't guns or anything. That kind of stuff scares me and I would've been out of New York and on my way back to Boston the first chance I got...'
She continued to look around the church, at the stained glass windows and such.

Prince smiled to the girl. Nice girl, though... a bit quiet, but with newsies anymore, that was understandable. You just don't ask many questions and everyone gets along fine knowing only what they need to know. "Ummm, if ya need anythin', you know like... now or... any time in the future jus ask. I'll be happy ta see what I'se can do for ya," Prince said with a small smlie to the girl.

'I'll remember that. Thanks Prince.' Zero wrote with a sincere smile. It was one of the few she gave out, and was starting to like it here. The thought of Cherokee and her hatred of being outside and alone at night made a new question arrise.
'Are we allowed to keep dogs in the Manhattan lodging house? Even tiny ones?'

"In da lodgin' house... ummmm..." she thought about it for a second. "Well, from my point of veiw... I dun see why not so long as he keeps real quiet and no one's allergic... and he acctually sleeps. Suppose maybe keep a window open so he won't wake no one if he's gotta go out or anythin'. Personally, I wouldn't have a problem with it if my boys didn't. But... by da same token, I ain't Jack. Ya gonna hafta ask him," she said. That was all the help she could be.

'Okay, thanks! Where would I find Jack? Would it just be at the lodging house, or is there somewhere in particular you could find him?' Zero looked out through the door, where her small black Scottish terrier sat in the doorway, looking at her as if to say 'hurry up, hurry up!'

Prince glanced at the dog. "He's cute," she said meaning the dog before she answered the girls question. "He'd probably just be at the lodging house... I can't think of where else he would be, so, look there," she said smiling. "And good luck. Worse comes to worse mention me," she said with a small smile.

'Okay, thanks Prince!' She waved and ran out the door, Cherokee following close behind.

Prince simply smiled and waved to the girl before she sat down in a pew and looked back up to the front of the church. She thought she'd relax for now... if anyone else came in they could, and if not... that was fine... she was in a good mood anyway.

Hawkeye shoved open the doors of the church, running inside and glancing nervously behind her. She ran forward, past several pews, and continued jogging until she realized there was no where to go except out the same way she had come in, and that probably wasn't the best place to go.
Panting, she bent over, her hands resting on her knees. After catching her breath, she straightened her posture and surveyed her surroundings. She paced around, looking over the walls and windows. Noticing that she was, in fact, in a church, she pulled off her hat and scratched the back of her head, now examining the tall stained glass windows.

At the sound of the doors opening Prince instantly took her hat and rehid her hair under neith it. She couldn't take any chances being a girl if an adult were to walk in. She watched however as it was a girl who entered the sanctuary, and a newsie at that. She sighed slightly in releif, but she wondered what the girl was running from.
When it seemed the new comer had calmed down a bit Prince stood up. "Hey!" she called in a lower tone, but she smiled in her direction. If Prince remembered correctly, she didn't know this girl.
