Hawkeye jumped slightly upon hearing the voice, "Hi," she said, sounding a bit out of breath. Clearing her throat awkwardly, she continued, "Sorry, I didn't mean ta bother ya or anything, I didn't exactly realize that I came into a church until I was already in." She gave a half-hearted shrug, still looking around. The place was huge.

Prince smiled. "Ah, no worries huh?" she said laughing a little. "I'll... come ta you," she said as she made her way across the sanctuary. "In da mean time, m'names Prince, leadah of Queens... have we met b'fore?" she asked keeping the low tone in her voice.

She nodded, recognizing the name, but not the face. Being a newsie, it seemed kind of mandatory to know the leaders of the boroughs, even if it was just their name.
"Nah, I don't think so," she said, "Hawkeye, 'Hattan newsie," she extended her hand to the other.

"Ah, one of Jack's kids," she said nodding slightly smiling a bit more now. "Well I'm pleased ta meetcha," she said taking off her hat with her left hand and, letting her hair fall down around her shoulders, before she took her right hand and shook the hand Hawkeye offered her. "Always good ta meet a fellah newsie."

Hawkeye blinked a bit, then tilted her head to the side, a small smirk on her lips, "You'se either a girl or one very feminine looking boy."
The doors of the church opened, causing Hawkeye to mutter "dammit" and duck slightly, using Prince as her shield. A young woman entered and slipped into a pew.
"Never mind," Hawkeye stood, a look of relief on her face, though she sent a nervous glance toward the seated lady, "Thought that was someone else.."

Prince, at the sound of the door re-hid her hair in a flash taking nothing but a second to do so, but once Hawkeye relaxed she looked at her curiously. "I'm a goil," she said quietly, "but dun tell no one who ain't a newsie and... if I may ask... what or who are you runnin' from?" she said keeping her voice low.

Hawkeye smirked at Prince's question, "Well, uh, see I had one pape left an' was gettin' real sick of waving it 'round tryin' to attract someone's attention," she paused for a moment, "So, I said that a lady died this morning in an unexpected, yet very tragic milk bottle accident. I made up some name.. Uh, Mary Blocker, I think it was. Unfortunately, Mr. Blocker happened ta be in the area I was sellin' when I shouted out that particular headline. I guess his wife's name is Mary an', uh, he hadn't seen 'er since that mornin' when the milk man came ta the house. He bought the pape an' scanned through." She stopped, giving herself a minute to breathe.
The smirk returned to her face as she continued, "Once he realized that his wife was alive an' well--she did me the courtesy of strolling along the same street her husband an' I were on--Mr. Blocker didn't exactly find the humor in the situation," she sighed, "Ya know, for an old guy, 'e sure runs fast."

Prince laughed at the story. "Dat's wonderful," she said smiling to the girl. "I ain't hoid such a thing in a long time..." she said with a smirk. "I dunno if Jack'd be too happy about me tellin' ya dis, but good job," she said. She was always happy to hear a good story. So long as no one was seriously hurt by it. "Sounds like ya had a good day..." she said with a touch of sarcasum.

Hawkeye smirked [Well, she's not very smilely, so she smirks a lot..], "Thanks--all in a days work."
She walked back toward the pews, slipping into one and kicking her feet up to rest on the one in front of her. She looked back to Prince, "Oh yes, damn terrific day," she rolled her eyes, almost laughing, "So, uh, I'm gonna go ahead an' suppose ya ain't in here 'cause of a Mr. Blocker of some sort?" She tilted her head to the side.

"I'm heah of my own free will," she said looking around the church before she walked forward to sit beside Hawkeye as well. "Came in for some relaxation, and so far met two newsies... both from Manhattan...:" she said finding that rather curious. "Weird. Anyway. And... so far, it's been a rather enjoyable day," she said clasping her hands and putting them behind her head.

Jack had asked around Queens, trying to find Prince. After some finagilng and many girls giggling at him incessantly(why they got giggly around him, he'd never know), he found that she was in the church.
Slipping in, he saw her sitting with Hawkeye. He smiled softly, slipping up to their pew. "Why hello goils!"

Hawkeye looked up at her leader, then back at Prince, "Make that three." She paused, before saying, "Er, if you'se need ta discuss, er, leader stuff, I'll go," she pointed to the opposite side of the church, "over there." She wasn't too keen on the thought of leaving the church just yet.

Jack shook his head. "It can wait, Hawkeye. I'm not gonna run ya off." He smiled in his lopsided way. "...things going well for ya, Hawke?" He was trying to check on all his newsies now--especially now that someone was trying to take them away from him.

Well this was a pleasent surprise. She smiled and gave a wave to Jack. She sat back for now however and relaxed listening to the two of them talking. She often liked watching other leaders work, see how they handled things. For now she thought she'd stay quiet and listen, for now anyway.

Hawkeye nodded, "I appreciate that," she said in response to his first comment, "So does my neck," she added hastily.
She shrugged, "Yeah, things are alright. ...As alright as they can be when ya basically live on th' streets an' are barely makin' a livin'," she smirked; she still had yet to hear about the Raconteurs.
