Ace was startled into silence, staring down at the girl attatched to his front. Slowly wrapping his arms around her, he kissed the side of her head, a few times in a row before looking back up at Jack and Prince. ".....I dont understand." Surely a little trip to the refuge wouldn't warrent such a show of.....shocking expression from Slinks. Which meant... His face shut down instantly. "....Everyone knows now, i take it?"

Jack nodded. "Yeah...I understand why you told Prince, Ace." He didn't explain, he knew Ace would understand. "...but telling David before me? going under a leader?" He shook his head.
"...and I'm glad Sneaks got you out. And I'm also glad I know the whole truth now. Nice to know Spot wasn't an idiot for feeling in the dark."

David, as usual, knew Jack was being unfair about chewing Ace off. Knew if Jack was to push on the issue, espeicially since the Bronx Leader was probably exhausted and not too happy that his past was out in the open. He bit his lip. Both leaders had tempers and pride; it was what had caused the war in the first place. It'd be hard to stop the 'fight' without getting on one of their nerves.
"Jack, relax," he began softly, praying that he wouldn't end up kicked out of Manhattan for this. "So he didn't tell you, so what. You weren't exactly on friendly terms when the Bronx was allied with Brooklyn. Do you honestly think he would've told you? And he only told me because he wanted me to tell you if he didn't manage to get out of the Refuge..."
He sucked in a breath. This was either going to calm Jack down or get him thrown out of his borough. He lowered his voice. "You lied about your past, he has the right to lie about his."

Jack's eyes flashed at David. "...One, I've known Ace before the war. That isn't an excuse. ...and yeah, I lied. Fine."
This wasn't the time or the place. But David crossed the line. He may have been Jack's best friend, but he was the leader for a reason. David couldn't talk to him like that. It would cause trouble. "...we will talk about this later, David."
He looked over at Ace. "Come on kid. Sit down." He gestured, his features softened a bit towards him--not David.

Ace sighed a little as he moved to sit down in a seat, still holding onto Slinks. He knew she wouldn't let go until she was done crying...and he wasn't about to make her either. "Im sorry, Jack." He muttered, once he sat down. "I guess its my fault. If Leone hadn't been here...i dunno, maybe this wouldn't have happened."

Jack shrugged. "Its okay Ace. We all make mistakes. We all lie and pay for it later." He patted the other boys' shoulder. "Guess we are all even now."
