Slick had walked a long way from Queens to Manhattan but news was slow and she had nothing to do. "Huh?" she said as the waitor spoke to her "Oh sorry . . . um I'll have a Dr.Pepper and um. . . . . some chicken soup " she handed the waitor her menu and went back to her thoughts.

John had read about this place in the paper back when he lived in New Jersey and was excited to be able to eat here for the first time.
Work was long today, not many sick people. A few worried mothers here and there but nothing serious, but a cup of coffee was in order.
He walked into Tibbys and looked around, smirking a bit. He found a table and sat down. The waiter came up to take his order. "I'll have a cup of coffee...and...a slice of cheese cake...oh and can you please bring me a glass of milk as well." The waiter nodded "Thank you kindly." John sat back and waited for his meal.

Slick looked at the man who had just walked in. He looked kinda wealthy, not hoidy toidy but not as poor as her she just shrugged and thought nothing of it.

His food arrived and he looked at the waiter. "thank you very much sir." He looked at his coffee....two creams and two sugars. He picked up his fork and took a nice bit of the cheesecake and a gulp of milk. This had been something he had been craving for for days now and it was a joy to be able to fulfill the craving.
John looked around. He remembered reading about the strike in the newspaper, which was one of the reasons he decided to start a practice here. "So this is where most of it took place, huh", he thought to himself while eating his meal. He could only imagine to feeling those boys had during the strike, and wished he could have witnessed it first hand.

Slick shook her head and smiled at the waitor "thanks" she said as he placed her food on the table she didn't care how hot out it was she allways loved Tibby's soup. She loved it here no matter how much trouble she was in she could alway come here and relax, she planned on coming here later too.

John looked up and saw the young girl sitting drinking her soda. He smiled at how content she looked with life, that being the case or not, to him she looked content. John turned to get up and you the bathroom not looking where he was going, he stood up bumping into a waiter with a tray full of empty dishes.
There was a loud crash. John and the waiter both went down. most of the plates broke and the owner came running out.
John stood up wiping the food from his glasses "I'm so sorry sir...I wasn't looking where i was going it was an accident." The owner looked at John.
"It's quiet alright my good sir. This boy should not have had so many plates on one tray. This is coming out of your paycheck, son!"
John stepped in "Oh no no no...please I'll pay for them." He reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet handing the owner 25 dollars. The owner nodded and thanks John....so did the waiter, many times. John sat back down in his chair and took his napkin and started wiping off his face and glasses.
