Rose shrugged, "Not long at all, I don't remember exactly how long, but nothing worth braggin' about."

"Yeah, I 'eard," replied Rose as she watched Race shuffle his cards.
She looked around in attempt to change the sour subject, "The food any good 'ere?"

Hawkeye nodded to Race's comment, "'S us an' Queens 'gainst Brookie an' the Bronx," she sighed and leaned back in her seat.
She laughed, "Yeah, the food ain't too bad. Speakin' of which, Race," she tilted her head to the side, smirking at the Italian, "Weren't ya sayin' that ya jus' won big at the tracks an' were offerin' ta pay for lunch?" she grinned playfully.

"I shore did!" he said, his bright grin returning to his face. "It's on me ladies, order whatevah ya'd like." He stuck his cards back in his pocket as he continued. "If the Queens track means free lunch, then no, it ain't too bad at all," Hawkeye laughed. She picked up a menu from the table, scanning through it quickly.

((NEW DAY))
Firecracker bounced towards the tables, examining the infamous 'Tibby's.' Pie Eater had led her here after they had bumped into each other--quite literally--at the harbor. After dragging him in the wrong direction, teasing him, and distracting him, it seemed like a miracle that they had even arrived at the restaurant. She plopped herself down at the window table, waiting for Pie Eater.
"Alast, dear Pie Eater, after our noble quest we have finally arrived at Tibby's, where da noble bread awaits you," she said over dramatically, mischief sparkling in her light emerald eyes.

Upon entering the restaurant Pie removed his hat like any man with manners would. His hair was its usual matted down mess. Pie Eater sat down shaking his head at the younger newsie. "Keep laughin' at the bread like that I'll make sure ya won't get any!" He said narrowing his eyes at hers. She was just a bundle of energy and sarcasm, almost like a female Racetrack on a sugar high. "Yer crazy, know dat?"
He studied the chalk menu on the wall and counted a lump of coins in his pocket so he could see what he really could afford. When a waiter came by he ordered. A Ruben (on his coveted rolls), sauerkraut, and a few rolls on the side. He never took eating lightly as it was his vice.

"But 'a course!" Firecracker cried, rolling his eyes at his 'threat.' She had fifty pennies, exactly, jingling in her pocket, and she was going to make good use of them. It was a small profit, but a managable one. She had another quater to use tomorrow to buy her papes, so she could waste the fifty cents on whatever she felt was important. Right now, a nice cold glass of milk, turkey sandwhich, and roll sounded important. When the waiter came around, she ordered her food, before staring at Pie Eater as he ordered what seemed like everything.
"You think I'm crazy?" she asked, shaking her head. "I'm not da one trying to eat all of Manhattan inta starvation!"

Pie had made a need little stack of coins which would cover the cost of his food on the table. "Ha! Ya think thats somethin'? Jus' wait 'till I got a big profit!" He laughed and leaned back in his chair so that it was balancing on its back legs. His arms stretched behind and supported the back of his head.
"Yer da one jumpin' 'round like somebody dropped a hot rock in yer pants! Dis is da calmest ya've been since I ran inta ya...Somebody needs ta switch yer sugah wit some salt" He smirked at her, feeling more comfortable with her goodnatured attacks and actually being able to think of a few meeger ones in response.
