"Hey, whoa," he said grabbing a hold of her wrist. "Please don't go... I didn't mean..." but he did mean it like that, and he knew it. "Look, I'm sorry..." he said standing beside her. "I havn't even known you that long. You're a real sweet girl, an' I don't wanna lose touch with you if ya walk outta here, and we don't meet again." The man did have a way with words.

She shook her head and pulled her arm back. "I didn't think you were like the rest of them... But you are... I guess men never change..." she backed away, scared he would hit her. After all she was used to her opinions being taken the wrong way and they usually involved smacking of some kind.

"That's where you're wrong," Avalanche said to her his face falling. "Some men never change. Some men never grow up and learn how to treat ladies with respect. Some men don't get it... I'm sorry if you think I'm one of them," he said with a sigh. "If anyone should be leaving... it's me," he said and started for the door himself this time.

"And thats your idea of respect?" she said, raising her voice to him slightly. She shook her head and gazed at him with those sparkling blue eyes. She flinched again, but this time not as noticably. "I guess i should never have said anything then..." she still liked him, she really did, but it got on her nerves when men were like this.

"Well, what do ya want me to do?" he asked turning back to her, not exactly the happy Avalanche that she'd known. "Lie? I won't do that. Make up your mind." He wouldn't hit her. He'd never do that, but it was a little irritating when a guy tried to be nice, and got it thrown back at his face, and he has no idea what he did wrong!

Dusty looked at him and bit the insid of her cheek. "I didn't ask you to lie... i just wanted to know... and if you didn't like me that way then why did you come here with me?" she asked, stepping up to him, looking him in the eyes.

"What? I can't go out to lunch with a friend?" he asked her. He sighed a bit. "Look... I'm sorry, alright?" Beyond that he didn't know what to say. She didn't want her to hate him, but... what was he supposed to do? He was a bit confused, and whenever he's confused he tries to get it so he's not. He hates the feeling of himself not knowing if there is anything could do. It makes him feel like a failure again.

She didn't hate him, she couldn't as much as she wanted to. "Yah... i guess your right..." she sighed and looked up into his eyes for a moment, he was sincere. She looked at her feet for a moment before reaching up and placing a hand on his cheek, gently pressing her lips to his. She pulled away and looked at her feet. That was bold, it took every ounce of self restraint that she had in her body to keep her from bolting out that door and down the street.

"Ummmm... heh, right... well," he didn't know what to say to her. He was absolutely confused now. "Uhhh... thank you," he said finally deciding that was good. But then gave up, the best way to get unconfused was to try that again. He lifted her own head to meet his once again and kissed her this time.

Dusty kissed him back. She let herself fully kiss him this time. Her arms found there way to his neck and she closed her eyes, her long black lashes fluttering against her cheek bones softly.

Avalanche moved his own hands and rested them on her hips as the two of them kissed in the middle of the restarant. Alright, so... he liked her... a little. It wasn't a crime, just now he had someone else to look after, but in his mind that wasn't a bad thing at all. He broke the kiss and smiled at her. "Alright, so I like ya a little," he said with a wink.

She smiled shyly at him. "Just a little..." she teased. She didn't know what to say. She was so glad that she had kissed him now and that he had kissed her back. She felt kind of light right then. Like she was floating. Never in her life had a guy kissed her like... that. He was gentle with her and thats what she liked. She slid her hands down his chest then his arms and took his hands. "I'm surprised no one is staring at us..." she told him, looking around quickly with a small smile. She stood on her toes and placed a kiss on the corner of his mouth.

"Just for good measure maybe we oughta sit down, what cha think hmm?" he asked her with a smile as he led her back towards the table. "Look, let me... explain myself. Me and girls... is... uncommon if you can believe it," he said with a charming smile, but he was letting his humor get away with him again. "What I mean is that I don't have many girl friends, and people liking me... happens... quite often," though he wasn't proud of it." I usually don't listen to the fact that I like them back because they think that I don't mean it because they think I flirt with every girl I meet which isn't true, I'm just trying to be nice." He'd said that all in one breath, and very quickly, so he took a deep breath before continuing. "That's why I was so tentative about saying anything." He was sincere, one look at him could tell you that easily. He just hoped she believed him.

And she did. She could see it in his eyes. "Its because your honest and sweet Avalanche... Thats what made me fall for you..." she told him honestly. "I can't honestly tell you that i've ever met another guy even remotely like you..." she smiled. "And the looks are a plus..." she teased, sitting down across from him.

He rolled his eyes at her last comment. "Gee, thanks," he said with a dry sarcasum, but he smiled afterwords. "I can probably say that I don't think there's anyone quite like you either. And if there is anyone like you, I sure havn't met 'em." He couldn't help but keep the smile on his face. She was just too cute.
