Fighter grumbled a bit but stepped forward and pulled herself up on the crate opposite Spot before nodding her head to what he said. She hadn't expected details she had just hoped to steer the conversation away from the inevitable. Leaning back on her arm she gazed at him and took a drag of her cigarette. "What do you want to know?"
She asked it with a tone of resignation in her voice, she didn't really want to give the details but she figured she could skip over her actions and just gloss over the main things that occurred.

"I don't give a rats about your personal Fight. You keep it out of my business and I stay out of yours... " That was enough for him, he looked like he was thinking about something as he looked at the golden ball on the top of his cane.
"Alright, tell me. About Brooklyn, I'm missin some kids.." Hey he'd at least cared to count heads.

Fighter shrugged, she hadn't been planning on sharing what had happened to her but it was nice to know he wouldn't pry. Biting her lip she glanced out over the river for a second before focusing back on Conlon and taking another drag. "Kids got kidnapped, big fight, not everyone made it." She knew her friends had made it and that was really all that had mattered to her. She hadn't thought much about the people who hadn't because she'd been too caught up in her own misery.

He nodded and managed to at least look solemn for a moment as he processed it. He didn't care if he sounded like an asshole or not, but he was Spot fucking Conlon. He did what he liked. "Lucks and Smalls handled things while I was gone fine then. I see your still heah, and the two a them are fine...." Yeah he also liked to paddle down the river denial when he felt the need.

Fighter nodded her head, not the least bit taken aback by his words. He spoke the truth, the major players had made it out alive and that was what mattered. "Zeke and Joe too...haven't seen either in awhile but they're around." She figured they'd show up sooner or later when they heard their infamous leader was back.

He snorted a bit and looked at her sideways, he wasn't going to pry and it didn't show on his face that he was wondering. He could be calous and most of the time he rarely let it show he had a heart hidden under those layers of iron.
Drawing a smoke out of his shirt pocket, he struck a match on the crate and took a deep breath, inhaling the smoke as he let the silence hang. "Zeke is loyal.. he does what he likes but in the end.. he's loyal.." to him, sure he didn't ALWAYS trust him around the ladies of the borough but the fact was-- they could take care of themselves. From the sound of her voice, nothing ever came of the crush she'd had on the borough boxer. "Joe tends to find his way..."

Fighter just nodded her head as she took another drag of her cigarette and adjusted her head to keep her eyes shaded from his view. "As for the others I've seen most of them around," She hadn't spent much time in the area though so she hadn't seen them in more than passing. Most of her time was spent working or going to see Davey. Not that she was going to bring that up to Conlon, she hadn't said anything to anyone in the borough as of yet but she was sure if they didn't know they at least realized she'd been absent quite a bit lately.

He took a long drag and looked up at the sky for a moment he let the silence hang. "What are youse hidin' from me Fight. You keep hidin your eyes like if I see in them I'll see a lie.." Spot didn't like liars. He preferred the up front approach, do I crack your teeth in now or later. He looked over at her and his face was still an impassive mask. What she knew and what she was hiding, did tend to bother him. He didn't pry into her social life but if she was going to keep dodging him with those looks and trying to hide her face they were going to have words.
"Is it going ta bother me and mine?" was it his problem, did he have to take care of what was his because of something she was involved in. And was she in trouble.. those were all the questions he wanted answered.

Fighter gave him a smirk and shook her head, "Bright day, late night..." She trailed off hoping that would explain it and he would drop it. She wasn't hiding anything that would hurt someone, she was just hiding her own need to escape into things that weren't just alcohol. She was nearly offended when he pretty much called her a liar but she brushed it off, "You know I'm not a liar, Conlon."
At least she hoped he knew because she'd never been one to mince words and she wasn't going to start now. She just didn't want to hear a lecture about what she should and should not be doing. She shook her head at his final question and decided it would be best if she took off for awhile. Maybe stay with Riley in Harlem for a bit. Finishing her cigarette she stubbed it out on the crate and moved forward getting ready to jump down. "I'm gonna head to 'hattan. Nice to see you back though, Conlon."
