Z smiled coyly at him "Well first we must get rid of these filthy pamphlets. Good Gracious it strains my constitution just thinkin about them." She waved her hand still in her southern accent. "However shall we dispose of these disgraceful thangs?"

He thought for a second before he saw a newsie walking by. "Hey kid... here," he said giving the pamphlets to the kid. "Tell 'em it's a revolution goin' on... hand these out for free, you'll sell like crazy."
"Thanks!" the kid said and ran off yelling a female revolution was coming!
He chuckled. "Problem solved miss," he said chuckling. "What do you think we shall do now?" he asked with a sincere and ever charming smile.

Z laughed as she watched the kid brighten and run off. She shook her head, the kid was in for a big shock.
Looking at him she walked in a circle around him. "Well, seeing as I am dressed for a party," she twirled a bit, not at all dressed up. "Our second step is to get you all gussied up and..." her eyes widened and she tried not to laugh.
"Run!" she took off laughing as she heard shouts from the small mob following the scared looking kid heading directly for them. She looked behind her, her hair streaming in her face as she smiled radiantly, much better than closing the office.

Avalanche couldn't do that. Instead he ran the other way and picked up the little boy before following after Z. He got the kid onto his back and continued running. "This way!" he said turning into an alley. That was the thing about Avalanche he was quick too, had to be with the lies (yes lies) he told when he sold. He was having a good time despite it all. It was a good time to him.

[New Day]
At the start of the day, Fibs had no intention of disobeying the new rule of pairs. It just happened that the person she had opted to shadow didn't take to her stories as much as she might have hoped. The ten year old had given her the slip somewhere on Webster street and buddied up with a chubby-cheeked seven year old Bronx newsie.
Fibs didn't really take it to heart. She preferred being on her own... rather, she figured she MUST prefer being on her own if only because she always was on her own. She'd get herself back to the Lodging House before sunset and avoiding cops wouldn't be a problem for Fibs--she had pointedly kept her distance from childhood onward.
Shirt rolled to her elbows and bare feet dangling over the edge of the dock, Fibs pinched a piece of long blonde hair between her forefinger and thumb, eying it contemplatively. Picking up the pocketknife she had placed at her side, Fibs placed the blade against the lock of hair.
She pursed her lips, sighed, shrugged and put the pocketknife down. Truly, she liked her long hair. Cutting it would just be something to do... Fibs really wanted something to do.

Jim, per usual, was completely exhausted. He had been picking up extra shifts at the docks the past few weeks in an increasingly futile attempt to make rent for the month, and was never more tempted to throw in the towel and join the lowest rank of street dwellers in the city. Of course his other option would be in finding a roommate, but putting up with someone constantly so close in proximity to himself? the concept of homelessness often appeared to be the superior choice.
Collapsing on the edge of the dock Jim briefly glanced at the girl a few feet away, taking a second glance as he saw the blade but dismissing it as he did with most things in life, returning to his own thoughts and personal dilemmas. Laying back on the dusty wood he let his feet hang over, lifting his hands back and tucking them beneath his head with a sigh. If he was going to survive another month, he would have to fore go another meal tonight. It was times like this he was sorry that naive little bakery girl got kidnapped; she was always good for a free meal.

When the unfamiliar man approached, Fibs gave him what she believed to be a very subtle side glance. If she was going to kidnap someone, she might casually sit down a few feet away and pretend to be going about her own business.
This was a sink or swim moment for Fibs, one that separated the boys from the men… figuratively speaking. Stretching her arms above her head, she yawned dramatically. Letting her arms fall back at her side, she curled her fingers around the blade she had left at her right and slid it across the splintered wood until it was by her thigh.
“You know, I have a knife,” For such a good liar, thought out subtlety was not a talent Fibs possessed. She shrugged, “In case you were planning on kidnapping me. I’m just saying.”
Tapping the blade against the edge of the dock, she swayed her legs, her toes grazing the surface of the water. Glancing his way, Fibs gave him a sympathetic smile. The poor sod was probably so desperate for money, he needed to kidnap girls. His boss was probably one of those intimidating thugs who had put this stranger between a rock and a hard place. Fibs bet that he liked kidnapping kids just as much as she liked peddling papers. His story unfolded in her mind: a young man on the road to nowhere, spiraling into a world of crime, another victim of fate.
And for that, he had her sympathy.
If he was a kidnapper, that is.

Jim pealed open an eye at her voice, lifting one of his hands to block the sun. What the hell was she talking about? Slightly amused, a rare experience in his day to day life, he sat forward, leaning back on his hands and examining his small companion. "Few stabs never hurt anyone.." He looked back out at the water with a sigh, his expression giving no indication of his toying with her. "That's a small knife, anyway."

[New Day]
It was hot out. That was Bryce's main thought as he wiped at the sweat that dripped from his brow after hoisting yet another crate onto yet another boat. He didn't mind it so much, not really when he considered the alternatives, had seen the alternatives, but it didn't mean he wasn't very much grateful for the brief respite as he leaned back against a stack of crates and crossed his arms over his chest.
He'd been in New York three weeks, just enough time for him to start to get comfortable, but not nearly long enough for the jumpy edge to wear off his nerves. He'd left London for some serious and complicated reasons and he'd been a fool to think any of that would ease with distance. Taking another swipe at his brow, Bryce thought briefly of his sister and wondered if she was doing well and if she'd found the note he'd left for her before hopping the boat to America. It was his greatest regret from the choices that he'd had to make, leaving his sister and his family behind.
There was nothing to be done for it now and dwelling wouldn't solve anything, and so Bryce looked out across the water and allowed his thoughts to drift. Subconsciously his thoughts began to form a tune, music rising and falling his mind as he watched the water's gentle rise and fall and he wondered if he'd made the right decision at all.

Peaches sat on the dock letting her legs dangle over the side, dipping her bare feet in and out of the water to cool herself down. The hot sun beat down on her back making her warmer so she swept her long wavy red hair off over one shoulder hoping that would cool her down, along with her feet being in the water.
Peaches watched as several men loaded crates on to a boat nearby. One man in particular caught her attention. She watched him intently as he hoisted one crate after another onto the boat. He looked to be deep in thought, as if his mind was off somewhere else. She studied him as he leaned against some crates, arms crossed in front of his chest. Well, he was definitely fit and he was actually quite good looking. She could always appreciate a gorgeous, fit man when she saw him. A small smile made its way onto her face. She turned away to stare out at the horizon before he caught her watching him, and she began to hum a tune she remembered from back home.

Bryce had felt eyes on him before he saw her sitting on the edge of the dock with her feet dangling in the water. Felt himself tense at the sensation and then relax as he caught the pretty woman with a small smile on her face, no danger there...at least not bodily. She was gazing out over the water now and he could hear the soft sound of music coming from her direction, he wasn't typically one to approach strangers; he was cautious by nature and training in the underbelly of the London streets had honed that characteristic, but he was drawn by the music.
So he shifted a little closer to hear her better, settling on another stack of crates and allowing the sound of her humming give soundtrack to his thoughts.

Peaches stopped humming and began to softly sing one of her favorite songs. It felt nice to be singing for herself instead of an audience. Although, at the moment, she had a feeling she had a small audience. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught the man moving closer. She stopped singing and smirked before turning around and giving the man her sweetest smile. "Hello, Darlin'." she greeted in her southern accent.

He'd become lost in his thoughts again, some childhood memory flitting across and playing out in his mind of him and Brooke Lynne playing in the yard, Kevin calling after them. Before everything had changed, before he and Kevin had made bold, brash choices that had ended up being deadly. The girl's voice snapped him out of his thoughts and he blinked against the sun, feeling as though he had been asleep.
Bryce looked over at her when she spoke, her southern accent thick as honey, smile just as sweet and she had flirt written all over. Just the type of girl Bryce typically avoided when he had his wits about him, which was most days. He settled for a quick inclining of his head "Ma'am," He murmured casting his eyes back out across the water.

Peaches' smile widened when the man acknowledged her. He had gorgeous eyes and a nice chiseled jaw. When he turned away, though, her smile faded and her brows furrowed in confusion. She had never been dismissed in such a way before. Did I do something wrong, she wondered. She studied him for a minute or two, trying to decide how to get his attention back. Hmmm, perhaps he's the type who tends to avoid flirts... That intrigued her even more. She was a natural flirt but men who liked that did not interest her as much as those who avoided flirts.
Peaches turned a little more on the dock to face him and put a genuine smile on her face this time. "My name is Peaches... Are you new around here, darlin'? I don't think I've seen you around before..."

Bryce sighed inwardly and forced himself to cast a glance back over in the girl's direction. She was pretty enough, nice eyes, reddish-blond hair and a body to boot but the truth was Bryce didn't like strangers, particularly overly familiar ones. He was certain that she was nice enough and really it wasn't her fault that he was generally grouchy by nature, private and closed off by conscious and deliberate choice.
"Been around," He said simply, crossing his arms over his chest as he saw her shoot him a radiant smile. He didn't offer his name in return or say anything else, experience had taught him the less information he shared, the better off he was, especially since he was still familiarizing himself with the area.
