Hawkeye peered around the corner of a building. She was using the brick structure as a hideout, though she wasn’t doing particularly well with the hiding part of the situation. Nearly her entire body was visible as she grasped the corner of building with both hands and swung around it, eyeing the vegetable cart. There was a cucumber calling her name and she was determined to get it.
Narrowing her eyes, she scanned the street; it didn’t look like anyone would notice if she took something, but Hawkeye wasn’t stupid enough to let that convince her that she wouldn’t get caught.
Returning her gaze to the cart, she arched an eyebrow, her concentration solely on the proper timing of the theft. As the vendor shifted his attention to a customer facing away from Hawkeye, she bit her lip and prepared to act. She backed up a bit, planning to get a running start. One step back, two steps ba—
“Hey!” Hawkeye nearly jumped out of her skin upon backing into someone. In her startled state, her voice was a bit louder and higher pitched than usual. She whipped around and snapped, “What’s the big idea? You don’t go sneaking up on people like that!” Hawkeye was actually quite fond of sneaking up on unsuspecting passersby and scaring them, but the situation was far less comical when she was the one being snuck up on.

<New Day>
David was whistling as he walked down the street across from the vegetable cart, papes tucked under his arm as he considered the fact that he was feeling lighter than he had since...well since before the whole mess at the warehouse. He couldnt be sure what the cause of his good mood was, though he imagined bumping into Fighter yesterday was likely part of it. There was just something about being around that girl that made him good. Not that he could tell anyone about that, but it was still nice to experience all the same.
Crossing the street he started working his way back down the other side, slowing in front of the vegetable cart to eye some of the fresher produce, wishing he had enough extra coins to maybe bring his ma home a surprise. He frowned briefly as the vendor shot him a withering look, likely thinking that a newsboy loitering around his cart was going to be bad for business. "Just lookin'..." David muttered to himself before passing on and stopping a few feet off to lean against a building and take a few minutes to rest a bit, eyes darting occasionally to the cart, partly in longing and mostly to give the vendor something to think about.
