Sally blinked, the glowered at the other man, crossing her arms. "No!" She bit her lip. She didn't think she could take this guy..he was a lot bigger than she thought. She paused, and suddenly her face melted into something sweet. "Please?"

Sally grinned. Bingo. She sat down on the bench next to the young man, smoothing out her skirts all proper like, playing with a piece of her hair. "So what do you do? Newsie?"

Sally snorted and made a face. "God know! Do I look like a street rat?" She grinned. "I'm a Delancy. We don't take to newsies. Dirty things."

Sally looked at him out of the corner of her eye. "Well you said you do other things." He was handsome, and wasn't...annoying like most newsies. As long as her brothers didn't catch her, she could have a chat, right? "So you can be an exception." She flashed a smile.

"Just dirty street rats." She twirled a few pieces of her black hair around her fingers, swinging her legs a bit. "My Daddy and brothers have always disliked them. As do I." She grinned, laughing. "Trust me, it's great to soak a few kids. Makes sure they respect you."

Sally's eyes widened. The boy must be sick in the head. This was beyond bizare. She understood that people worshiped them...after all, they were the Delancey's, and they should be feared. But this?
She pulled her hand back slowly, grinning warily. "Right..umm..you can get up now...."

Sally sighed inwardly, smiling. Well that was over. However... "How about you buy me a drink. I think you could do that for me."

Sally smiled and clapped her hands happily. "Good! We should go to McGintys. I like that place, and I want a good whiskey." she was curious to see exactly *how* much money he had to spend.

<< New Day >>
chatter had a pretty good first day of selling, she got a quarter and a nickel because she told two older women that she didn't have enough money to pay her rent and enough money for food.
Chatter was in a good enough mood that she wanted to explore New York, Chatter had never really been to any other burough besides Queens sense she lives there.
Chatter went over to the bench and sat down, and looked up at the sky and clouds. Chatter started to think about what would of happened if her dad didn't loose his job and if they stayed in France. (Chatter was 5 when her sisters, and her came to NY.)

Milo was walking around central park after selling his last two papers to a couple that he had stared at for about half an hour before the man had bought his papers and given him an extra two bits to leave them alone. As he walked past the benches, he saw a girl about his age sitting at one of them. He had never seen her before, but he figured that she must have been either a newsie or a factory girl to be out all alone in the middle of central park. He was curious about the girl and he didn't have anywhere in specific to be at the moment. So, he decided to observe the girl for awhile. He walked over to a nearby bench and sat down, watching the girl as she looked around the park with a pensive expression her face.

Chatter herd someone behind her...so she turned her head around to see a boy around her age sit down on a near by bench. The boy had brown hair and brown eyes and looked like he was a newsie. Chatter had never seen him in Queens so she guessed that he was probably from some other burough like....Manhattan or Brooklyn or the Bronx.

"What are you looking at" asked Chatter trying to sound nice.
Chatter waved back to him, and smirked.
