"I ain't lookin' " replied Milo, his voice barely audible "I'm observin'"

"Whats da difference" asked Chatter.

[Milo]

"Well, when ya look at somethin ' ya don' hafta pay dat much attention to it, but when ya observe somethin' ya gotta watch it real close an' pay a lot of attention to it" Milo explained "Any idiot can jus' look at somethin' but ya gotta have brains ta observe. "

[chatter]

"Ok" said Chatter kinda confused. "Anyway" said Chatter smiling."My name is Chatter" said Chatter talking really fast" "and you are?"

[Milo]

"Milo" he answered simply, still staring at her intently a bit taken aback by the girl's apparent energy.

[chatter]

"Milo"

" So you've noticed that i talk a lot" said Chatter, smiling at him.

[Milo]

"yep" he answered looking at her hesitantly, surprised at her blatant and unsolicited discussion of herself.

[chatter]

"yep"

Chatter nodded her head, Chatter was use to people thinking that she was strange of weird or a big mouth. some people even think that she is like Davey the walking mouth.

[Milo]

Milo continued to observe the girl as she sat smiling at him as if she expected him to say something. "so" said Milo quietly "where ya from?"

[chatter]

"so where ya from?"

"Queens" said Chatter. "how 'bout you'se" asked Chatter.

[Milo]

" 'hattan" he replied shortly "why're ya heah?" He knew that there was likely no specific reason, a lot of younger newsies wandered the streets after selling if they couldn't find someone to play with or talk to, but he felt obligated to say something. 'I guess dis is why people don' like it when I observe 'em' he thought, for once, feeling uncomfortable with the silence.

[chatter]

" 'hattan"

Chatter nodded her head, Chatter loved Manhattan, mostly because all of the newsies were friendly.

"why're ya heah?"

"Just wandering" said Chatter samiling a toothy grin.

[Milo]

"ain't seen ya heah befoah." commented Milo intrigued by the girl's short answers 'foah somene named chattah she ain't talkin' so much no moah' he thought, still not quite sure what ta make of the girl. "ya been a newsie long?" he asked, his voice sedate though,in reality, he was very eagar to gather more information on her.

[chatter]

" Well i haven't seen you'se round Queens before." commented Chatter. Chatter looked Milo up and down as if she was observing him, just like Milo said staring and obsarving are two completely different things.

"Nope.....Just started today" said Chatter smiling a wide grin.

[Milo]

"ya foist job?" Milo asked, keen to learn more about the girl's story.
