[chatter]

"Didn't have one, but my older sista was a worker of some sort." replied Chatter. "What 'bout youse?" asked Chatter.

[Milo]

"been a newsie 'bout a yeah" explained Milo, shifting slightly in his seat "b'foah dat I did a bit of long term borrowing, if y'know what I mean." he continued, staring at his feet.

[chatter]

Chatter could tell that he didn't like to talk about what he did before he was a newsies, the way that he shifted in his seat and looked down at his feet.

"Ohh" exclaimed Chatter, who had know idea what long term borrowing was and why he didn't like to talk about.

Chatter went over to the bench that he was sitting in and sat next to him.

[Milo]

Still looking at his feet, Milo heard Chatter sit down next to him and looked up at her "so" he said, in a near whisper "ya sistah a newsie too?"

[chatter]

"Yeah all of me sistas are newsies." said Chatter looking at Milo in the eyes then looking at her feet.

[Milo]

"how many sistahs ya got?" he asked, still looking at Chatter, unsure why she seemed so uncomfortable making eye contact with him.

[chatter]

Chatter looked up ffrom her feet. " 'bout five, dere's Patches, Connie, Rainbow, Butterfly, and Angel." replied Chatter talking a mile a minute. (or whatever its called)

[Milo]

"Wow, dats a lot" replied Milo, his eyes growing wide in surprise " I don' got no bruddahs or sistahs. Well, not technically anyway. I got a friend back in manhattan named Pockets who's my honahrary sistah but she's got different parents" he explained enthusiastically. After his still considerably mild outburst Milo paused a moment to regain his stoic manner before resuming the conversation in a much calmer voice, "Ya got any parents?" he asked, still intrigued with the girl's story.

[chatter]

"They are in Poland, where me and my sista's were born." replied Chatter looking down at her feet, feeling a tear drop down her cheek.

[Milo]

"Oh" said Milo uncomfortably, noticing that Chatter was upset by her parents absence "at least dere still alive" he continued in an attempt to cheer her up.

[chatter]

"Well....i don't remember them, i was about three or four when I came to New York." said Chatter wiping away her tears.

"Sorry 'bout pouring away all of this on you'se," said Chatter giggling.

[Milo]

"Oh, dat's okay" assured Milo " I undahstand, my papa died 'bout t'ree yeahs ago an my mama followed 'im 'bout a yeah latah. I don' remembah much 'bout 'em eithah."

[chatter]

"Oh..I'm sorry" said Chatter. When Milo told her about about his past her face changed from happy to sad in just a couple minutes and Chatter was barely ever sad.

[Milo]

"It's okay" assured Milo again " Dat's jus' da breaks is all. It ain't nobody's fault" he pause and looked around for a moment before speaking again "So, ya were born in Poland huh? dat's pretty neat. y'know I wasn't born heah eithah" he commented, eager to bring the conversation to a lighter note.

[chatter]

"Yeah, where you born?" asked Chatter very happily. She was glad that Milo changed the subject, the subject about there families and dieing was bring her down.
