Stan's Bakery

Smiley smiled at the way Magnet blew up at them like that, she had never seen him get so worked up. She decided to change the subject.
"So what are ya'r brothers names and how old are dey?"

[magnet]

He smiled thankfully at her for changing the subject. "Der's Thunder, Lightning and Wolf. Thunder and LIghtning are twins, and they are 13 almost 14. I loved dat age, when ya start ta like da opposite gender. But...I never really dated anyone, I'm waiting for the right person." He smiled at her, then continued. "Alright, den der's Wolf. He's ten, and the youngest."

"Oh, dey sound nice, I would really like ta meet dem sometime." She remembered his words about not finding the right person yet. She shrugged it off.
"Were ya born in New York, Magnet?"

[magnet]

He shook his head. "Nope, we were all born in Paris, France." Smiling to himself, Magnet remembered his mother told him when he was 10, that Paris was the most romantic place to be.

"Are ya serious?? That's amazing!!! Paris France?? Was it pretty?? Do ya rememba what da Eifel tower looked like?? Gosh, you'se lucky. My mother always wanted to travel. She had come from a wealthier family than my father. My mother loved to paint. She got a scholarship to the university of art in France but she gave it up to marry me pa. She always wanted to see the Eifel tower again before she died. She saw it once when she went to France as a child. She told me a sunset with the Eifel tower was the prettiest thing she had ever saw. She wanted to paint it...that was her goal....but she never..she never got it." Smiley looked down, remembering all those memories suddenly.

"Sorry 'bout yoah ma. Ya know what my ma told me 'bout the Eiffel Tower? She said it was the most romantic thing in the world, as was Paris. My mom loved to paint as well, she sat outside for almost a full day and painted it for my pa. When I finally find the right girl, I'm gunna bring her to Paris, and sit near the Eiffel Tower." He closed his eyes for a second, and imagined him walking around with Smiley, and he smiled.

"Gosh," Smiley said softly. "Whoever she'll be will be a lucky girl." She looked around and her eyes lit up when she saw a small fountain outside the window on the patio. She cried out in delight, "A fountain! Ya know me papa always sad dat Fountains were magical, if ya threw in a coin you could make a wish, and it would come true. Smiley's eyes danced with delight.

Magnet smiled at her delight, and finished his cinnamon bun. He glanced over to where those girls used to be, and glared at them, then stood up and said, "Privacy please?!"

Sitting back down again Magnet said to Smiley, "Come on, ya can get a wish, but I also wanna get away from des girls."

She nodded and the pair walked out of the bakery and over to the fountain. She took the coin from Magnet and closed her eyes, wishing with all her heart that she would be that girl for Magnet and he would bring her to Paris someday. She tossed in the coin.

She sighed, this wonderful afternoon was coming to an end.

"It's gettin' late," she said hesitantly and regrettably.

Now it was Magnet's turn to sigh, he doesn't want to leave, and he definatly wanted to stay with Smiley. "Ya, it is. So ya wanna go back to Manhattan? Or..ya know..do ya got friends in Bronx ya wanna stay in? 'Cause I know I ruined yoah whole day foah fun.."

Smiley bit her lip.

"I don't really wanna leave but da Manhattan newsies are probably worried. Dey have no idea where I am." She watched as Magnet's face fell a little.

"But....would ya like ta walk me home? Den we can spend a bit more time togetha Magnet."

[magnet]

His face lit up. "Really? I wasn't borin'? 'Cause ya know, usually girls only want me for the looks, but not for me, but dat's not what I'm sayin' bout ya. Just other girls."

"You borin'? Naw, I found ya quite intruigin' actually." She told him smiling broadly.

"And the looks.....I still don't see it." She winked though and took off yelling, "Catch me if ya can!"

[magnet]

Magnet looked up at her and gave a playfull glare, then took of chasing her. "I'm gunna get ya!"

:new day:
Jib walked up to the Bakery and paused waiting for Piper. It had been a nice walk; he loved getting a chance to see the city. He opened the door for Piper and let the smell of fresh baked food flow out to him.
