Flanna checked her tiny pocket watch, cursing. "Oh, I got to hurry up and pick up the evening addition." She pushed away her half eaten food, standing up to kiss Caleb on the nose. "Tomorrow at the track at noon, okay?" She flashed a smile and ran out.

(New Day)
Laughing, she opened the door to the restaurant and quickly took off her hat stuffing it back into her back pocket. Looking around she found a table for two and pulled Rex towards it, grinning widely. “So, what’s good ta eat here?” She asked as she pulled out a chair and sat down looking up at Rex.

“So, what’s good ta eat here?”Rex situated himself across from Muse and shrugged with a grin. "It's greek food so there's some sea food, veggies, and stuff. Fish is good, taste like chicken." Rex picked up the menu, not even realizing it was upside down. "That's funny, guess they got new menus, I've never heard of sgnilpmud (dumplings ) before!"

Laughing, Muse tilted her head to the side so it was almost upside down so she could read it. Gently taking it from his hands she flipped it around to it was right side up again and handed it back.
"That should be easier now." She said as she picked up her own menu and looked at it.

"That should be easier now.
Rex held the now right side menu in his hands and looked down at it before blushing slightly and smiling sheepishly saying, "Oh, hehe no wonder I didn't recognize any of those words haha."
He looked around the restaurant, and then at Muse, flashes her a wide grin. "So, what's it like being a newsie? I've never been one. Just horses for me..." He watched her curiously, scratching at a mosquito bite on his neck.

Laughing she looked up at him with a wide smile. Pushing her hair out of her face she placed the menu back on the table deciding that she was going to get the dumplings.
"So, what's it like being a newsie? I've never been one. Just horses for me..."
"It's fun," She said. "But hard at da same time. You have ta get up early ta sell da morning edition. Some times when da headlines are good a newsie could peddle 100 papes a day." She leaned on the table her arms crossed in front of her. "Most of da time da headlines ain't that great, that's when you have ta lie a little just ta sell even 20. There's always da possibility that you won't have enough money ta eat that day."
Shrugging, she looked over at the waiter that came to get their order.
"What can I get for you?" He asked politely a pencil and notepad in hand.
"I'll have da dumplings and a glass of water." Muse said as she handed him the menu with a smile.
"And for you sir?" He now turned to Rex to get his order. Muse looked over at him too waiting to see what he was getting.

"Well don't you worry about that today, I'm buyin'." Rex told her, pointing a finger at his chest and giving her a smile.
"And for you sir?"
Rex was in a bit of a daze when the waiter took his order. "Huh? Oh, fish please, wait no, dumplings, fish, dumpling.....Fish and dumplings? Oh and some chocolate milk?"
The waiter just shook his head with a smile and said, "I will be back fairly soon with your order," and he disappeared into the kitchen. Rex always had a hard time deciding things. He wasn't sure if the Greeks made chocolate milk, but he loved chocolate milk so he would try for it anyways.

"Well don't you worry about that today, I'm buyin'."
"Rex you don't have ta do that." She said with a smile, it was sweet that he wanted to pay, but she had enough change from selling today that she was able to have lunch and buy her papers in the morning.
"Oh, fish please, wait no, dumplings, fish, dumpling.....Fish and dumplings?"
She giggled when he made his order, she thought it was absolutely adorable how he couldn't make up his mind. Looking around the restaurant she slowly brought her eyes back to their table with a smile at him. "So, whats it like working at da tracks? You bet at all?"

"Rex you don't have ta do that."
He shook his head and gave a playful scowl and said, "Now you listen to me, missy. I'ma paying and that's that! and if you still don't let me...I'm gonna....gonna...tickle you!" Rex had a crazy expression on his face as if tickling was the worst doom of all, before he couldn't help it and his wide old energetic grin returned.
"So, whats it like working at da tracks? You bet at all?"
"Well, it's nice I guess, I like working outdoors, its better than working in some factory bending over all day long, I have space. I've always liked horses too. Naw, I don't bet, I don't make that much, and Of course I ain't using my lucky dollar."

"Now you listen to me, missy. I'ma paying and that's that! and if you still don't let me...I'm gonna....gonna...tickle you!"
Laughing, Muse threw her hands up in surrender a fake scared look on her face. "Alright, you win." Smiling she leaned forward and putting her elbows on the table.

Nodding in agreement she kept her attention on him. "I could never be stuck inside for ta long. That's why I like bein' a newsie. Ya free ta go anywhere." She said looking out the window now before looking over at him. "Probably best if you don't, but if it's lucky you might win somethin'." She said with a wink.

"Alright, you win."
Rex laughed too and then said with superiority, "I always win." He paused and then withdrew his lucky dollar and waved it slightly in the air, that being his explanation.
"Yeah, you don't seem like the stay at home type. I bet you'd travel all over if you could. My father was never home usually, cuz he was either in Paris or Italy or someplace like that. Never took me along. Brought me souvenirs but what did I care about that?" Rex smirked and sighed, bouncing slightly in his seat tapping a beat on the table waiting for the food to come. He could never sit still for too long.

"I always win."
Giving him a smirk, she made it look like she was about to grab the dollar, just to mess with him but was interrupted by the waiter bringing them their food.
Placing the plates down in front of the two, the waiter smiled and put the water and chocolate milk above the plates. "There you go. Enjoy your meal, let me know if you need anything."
"Thank you." Muse said to the waiter with a smiled and grabbed her water. Taking a sip she nodded to Rex as he tapped on the table. "If I could, I would travel. There's so many things ta see out there." Picking up her fork she poked a dumpling, "I think it would be hard ta not have your father at home. But what about you? Would you travel?" She smiled at him as he bounced. He had a lot of energy it seemed. She liked that about him.

Rex stuck a fork in his fish, taking a big bite. He didn't eat normally portioned bites, yet he did chew with his mouth closed. He nodded and had to chew over the food before he could answer. He drank some of his chocolate milk and sighed contentedly before shrugging at her question.
"I dunno, there's some places I'd like to see I guess. But just the simple places. I don't need to see grand old buildings, Eiffel towers, I just want to see nature itself. Like a ranch, like the cowboys. When I was a kid, I use to sneak out of the house into town, and I'd get myself one of those little dime novels, bout the ranchers and the cowboys and the outlaws. I've never seen the ocean, or desert, or mountains...that's one thing I wish I could see."

"I just want to see nature itself."
Using her fork she cut into her dumpling and took a bite. Smiling at him she nodded. "Nature would be more interesting, I've always loved rivers, for how quiet they are ya know?" With a shrug she leaned back a bit thinking. "The ocean would be nice ta see."
"Like a ranch, like the cowboys."
Leaning forward she grabbed her cup carefully. Taking another sip of her water she looked at him. "So you wanna go out west?" She asked bringing another cut of her food to her lips.

Rex smiled and nodded, a somewhat peaceful look on his face. "Yeah, it would be nice. Cept' I dunno about the quiet part, atleast not with me around. I seem to remember my nanny chasing me around with a broom when I trampled my Mother's roses." Rex cracked a big grin and laughed.
"So you wanna go out west?"
Rex nodded, a calm yet determined smile on his face. "Yeah, maybe. Someday."
