"I seem to remember my nanny chasing me around with a broom when I trampled my Mother's roses."
Leaning back she laughed into her hand. Laughing and chewing food at the same time was never a good mix. Taking a drink from her water she pushed her hair out of her eyes as she calmed down a bit, but soon started laughing again as she imagined that scene play out. "Did that happen often?"
"Yeah, maybe. Someday."
"You'll have ta send me a letter when ya do." Smiling, she looked into his blue eyes with hers.

"Did that happen often?"
Rex laughed and shook his head, his eyes dancing with mischief. "Only once or twice...a month!" Rex cracked up, and some people in the next booth just looked over and raised an eyebrow. Rex calmed down and gave Muse a big grin before digging into more of his fish.
"You'll have ta send me a letter when ya do."
Rex nodded, "Yeah, when I do....just hope you can read my sloppy handwriting."

"Only once or twice...a month!"
Muse stared at him for a second before laughing. "My Mother would have killed me if I went anywhere near her flowers." She said with a smile and a small shake of her head. She wasn't even going to try to count how many times her and her brother got in trouble around their small farm. From playing in the barn to running through the tiny field of corn they had, there was never any lack of mischief with the siblings. 'All Thomas' ideas.'She thought to herself
"just hope you can read my sloppy handwriting."
Cutting into another dumpling she looked up from her plate. "I'm sure your writing isn't that bad." She said taking bite.

"My Mother would have killed me if I went anywhere near her flowers."
Rex grinned, "Just something about ladies and their flowers I guess." He winked and laughed, taking a bite of a dumpling. "Man, this is good, probably the best dang fish and dumplings I've ever had!"
"I'm sure your writing isn't that bad.
"Yeah, well you ain't seen it. You'll hafta decide that when you see it."

"Just something about ladies and their flowers I guess."
"I guess," She said with smile and a laugh. Grabbing her water she took a drink and placed it back on the table gently.
"probably the best dang fish and dumplings I've ever had!"
"Mhm." Muse agreed as she took a bite of her dumpling.
"Yeah, well you ain't seen it. You'll hafta decide that when you see it."
Laughing she continued eating. "It's a nice day outside." She commented kinda awkwardly. She hated when she couldn't find anything to say. Digging her hand into her pocket she pulled out a long light blue ribbon. Placing it between her teeth she pulled her hair into three parts, expertly maneuvering her hands she quickly braided her brown locks and tied it off with the ribbon.

"It's a nice day outside."
Rex nodded, gazing out the window as well, until Muse started doing up her hair, wrapping a light blue ribbon around her braid.
He looked at her as if it was some wonderful talent and said, "Wow. You did it so fast. I bet you could do hair for those upper class girls before they take pitchas, they'd be thankful to ya if you did. A Streetkid hairdresser..."

Smiling, she pushed the braid over her shoulder. "Thank you. But I doubt any hoity-toity rich girl would let a street rat like me touch her perfect hair." She said as she cut a bite off her last dumpling. "I would love to do hair for people though. My mother taught me everything."
Pointing her fork at him she grinned. "What do you think you would be doing if you didn't work at the tracks?"

Rex nodded, before shaking his head, rubbing the back of his neck. "It's a shame...Too bad our class doesn't have a reason to do their hair, we ain't got no reason to be fancy."
"What do you think you would be doing if you didn't work at the tracks?"
Rex's grin returned. "I honestly dunno, I never think what if, I don't cross bridges until I get to them, and I don't stop to look behind."

"It's a shame...Too bad our class doesn't have a reason to do their hair, we ain't got no reason to be fancy."
"That may be so," She said with a smirk. "But our class will have better hair." She said as she pointed to her braid.
"I honestly dunno, I never think what if, I don't cross bridges until I get to them, and I don't stop to look behind."
A gentle smile brightened her features. "That's a really good way of thinking." Leaning back she thought for a bit. Unbuttoning the third button on her black vest she pushed it open a little. Looking up at him she turned her head to the side a little. "I think I'm goin' ta start thinkin' like that."

"That may be so,But our class will have better hair."
Rex grinned loudly and let out a whoop right then and there. "Ain't that right!" He grinned sheepishly when people looked their way and sat back down. He had too much energy.
"That's a really good way of thinking. I think I'm goin' ta start thinkin' like that"
Rex smiled at her gently with a nod, and pushed his empty plate away.

"Ain't that right!"
Laughing, she ate the last part of her food and leaned forward. "What else have ya got planned today?" She asked "You don't have ta stick around me." She shrugged with a smile.
Seeing that the two were done, the waiter came forward and left the bill on the table. "Take care of that when your ready." He said with a smile as he grabbed the empty dishes.

(Aw, love your siggy!)
"What else have ya got planned today? You don't have ta stick around me."
Rex smiled softly and shook his head, "I never have much planned, just work really, driving in the morning, stables in the noon. And you make it sound like a chore to be with you, not that I would mind if it was a chore, it's better than my usual chores." He gave her a small grin.
"We should go somewhere, see something!" He said excitedly, his energy gaining again as he flashed a grin at her, bouncing slightly in his seat again.

"And you make it sound like a chore to be with you, not that I would mind if it was a chore, it's better than my usual chores."
She smiled at him with a shrug. "I just wanna make sure I ain't gettin' annoyin'. That can happen sometimes, or everyone in Brooklyn is easily annoyed."
"We should go somewhere, see something!"
Laughing as he bounced in his seat a bit she leaned forward to listen intently excited now as well. "Where would we go?"

"Well, I ain't from Brooklyn, memba? and I ain't easily annoyed, specially not annoyed when I'm having a fun time for once and having a best friend." He grinned his widest grin at her and reaching over to pull on her braid.
"Where would we go?"
"I dunno! Like a...like...oh! somewhere...how bout that nice little park you guys got in Brooklyn, I can't remember the name, I'm not good with names...I called my private tutor once Mrs. Dumbpole instead of Dumbel. hehehe..."

"I know you ain't from Brooklyn." She smiled happily at him and play glared at him when he pulled on her braid. Sticking her tongue out at him she laughed.
"somewhere...how bout that nice little park you guys got in Brooklyn, I can't remember the name"
"Prospect Park?" She asked as she took the last drink of her water. "It's beautiful there. Let's go." She said excitedly.
