A place for the leader to go and do some thinking, or have some time to himself when he doesn't want to be disterbed. Bed, chair, and a dusty window and sill complete the small and simple room. Rather cozy, and perfect for Jack Kelly.

Jack tossed his cowboy hat over in a corner, collapsing into his bed with a sigh. Things had been so busy as of late, and even with his 'vacation' to Santa Fe, he was still near his breaking point.
However, he was sure that things were slowing down, and with new newsies coming in, things were looking up. Putting his arms behind his head, he looked up and grinned. It would all work out.

While things seemed to be starting to work out for Jack, Racetrack was having a more negative thought process as he entered the lodging house and stomped his way up the rickety staircase. He yanked his cap of, then tugged it back on crookedly as he entered the room to find Jack smiling at nothing.
"What'a you so happy 'bout, Cowboy?" He demanded, but his tone was more exasperated than angry. Losing what little money he had at the races never really left him with a cheery disposition.

Jack raised an eyebrow, swinging his legs over the side to bring him into a sitting position. He tried to stifle the smirk that threaten to spread across his features. "Is happy bout nuthin and everythin, Race...lose money at the track?"
It was a simple guess, but most likely right...he was always in a shite mood when he lost money.

<<new day>>
Jack sighed, tossing himself on his bed. It had been a long day of selling...the rain had made business bad...and topped with lousy headlines, he barely broke even. Pulling his soaking cowboy hat off his head, he threw it in a corner. Well...at least his head was a bit dry.
..too bad the rest of him wasn't.

Shiner came up behind him and left her suitcase in the hall, thinking it was silly to bring it in and trusting Avalanche enough not to let anything happen to it.

Jack sighed and got on his feet. He just wanted a little free time eventually, but eh, it was his job, and despite his complaining, he really did love it. Opening the door he clapped a hand on Avalanche's arm, looking into the hall. "And who do we have here?" He grinned at the new girl.

Piper walked up to Jack Kelly's room and saw a couple of people already inside, talking with Jack. She just wanted to say hi, since she only met the guy once and he seemed nice, and for the fact that he was their leader.
"Heya Cowboy." Piper said aloud as she walked in with her smile and shoved her red hair out of her eyes.

Avalanche turned with a small start. He didn't really realize that Shinder had been there. And then with Piper coming along things seemed to get awfully croweded very fast. "Uhhh... Jack" he smiled to his old friend. "How ya been? Long time no see... ...really long time," now that he thought about it. "This here is Shiner, she just got here, and she's hoping she could get a bunk," he said giving him the quick version. Shiner could add any more information that she wanted Jack to know if she wanted to.

Jack waved at Piper slightly. "Heyya Pipah.." He grinned at Avalanche, clapping a hand on the other's shoulder. "I's been okay. It's been crazy around heah, yanno." He nodded. "You been good?" He smiled at Shiner, waiting for her to come and speak for herself.

Shiner smiled back to Jack, for some reason she didn't expect him to be as friendly as he seemed. Then Piper came up and she wasn't sure if she should come back later. But that seemed ridiculous now that she was already here. "Um, hi," She smiled to Jack, then to Piper, "I'm Shiner..." She turned to Jack again, "Yeah, so.. I need a bed, basically. We couldn't find Kloppman..."

Jack laughed. "Eh...Kloppman hardly ever comes around anymore--says I'm getting old enough to try and handle this stuff by myself." He grinned and stuck out his hand for her. "I'm sure we can find a place for you here--more the merrier."

Piper smiled hearing that Shiner was going to be part of the Newsie group then on. She walked over slowly and smiled at Shiner.
"You know Jack, I can show her around, me being a girl and all. I can show her the ropes on how we ladies handle the Newsie job here at the lodging house, if that's alright with you?" Piper asked frmo Jack to Shiner in a curious tone.

"That's really nice of you," Shiner said, smiling to the red head, "Thanks Piper."
