Prince took a deep breath, she was getting carried away, and she could tell from Dodger's tone she was taking it too far. Now was time for her to think!
"The girls dun gotta fight Dodger, I mean... some might wanna, if they wanna dun stop 'em I say. Look at it this way, they may be expecting a strike, but we know what's gonna happen this time too!" She slowed down before she did anything and took another deep breath. Calmly she continued, "we can prepare. We can get our strongest boys out ta fight. The girls can stay back, and help the boys who been hurt," she suggested.
"Maybe we can get... maybe some of the girls can get other jobs... the boys too? We can all support each other, come together, unite, and beat this..." Prince didn't want this beating her. She'd been determined to beat out the men in charge, and so far she hadn't done half bad, and now was no different, she didn't want the papers to win.
"If we don't strike what will we do? Do ya really think they'll listen ta us?" she asked him gently. She was showing she wanted an honest, non confrontation answer, she didn't want Dodger mad at her. Especially when she was pushing for unity.

"They won't listen anyway, love.." he reached out and patted her back gently before sighing. "If you lot all strike, I will as well-- but if there is anyway to do it differently.. then we'll do it that way. I'm not keen on doing the same thing twice, because if we know what to expect, so will they and I don't want my kids starving any more than they already are.."

"But what other options do we have? They won't listen no mattah what we do, and the kids got no option but ta support each other, or starve." May not be theey way they wanted it, but it was the way things were.
Prince sat down on the bed, hat still on as she looked down at the floor. She wished Jack were there. Even if he didn't have a solution or a plan, or anything, he at least sounded like he had a clue sometimes... he could at least make her feel better, even if he were the reason she felt lousy in the first place.
"So... Spot wants a strike, and I hear Jack don't. you and me just want our kids alright..." she looked up at him. she was at a loss for words, and just... summed up their entire situation. She hadn't meant to state the obvious, but had done it anyway. She was just hoping by stating the situation some... answer would appear painfully obvious, but no luck.

Jack coughed, staring at the two other leaders.
"You know, if I was Spot Conlon, you would have never dared going into my room without permission. Where the Hell do you two get off?" It underminded his position with his newsies, having two leaders entering his room like they owned the joint. One his ex newsie, one his more than likely, soon to be ex girlfriend.

Dodger rolled his eyes and gave Jack a look, "Sorry mate, I'd have dragged her into a closet but I didn't think you wanted your lads hearing this conversation either, aye?" he took of his hat to run his fingers threw his hair and shook his head.
"What is Spot's word anyhow?"

Prince looked at Jack neutrally, she didn't say a word. Talk about a fine how do you do. But she figured, this was business, and it would be better to avoid emotional matters for the time.
At Dodger's apology Prince nodded her head instantly in agreement. She was still trying to avoid making enemies here after all, and was sorry, though having Jack's kids not hearing the conversation did make sense. Not like they had another option. Not like they went through his drawers or anything.
Prince however, stayed quiet for the moment, waiting to see if Jack knew what Spot's position was.

"Spot is striking. That's his word." Jack was in a horrible mood, flinging his hat onto his bed, losening his hanckerchief. "And I'm not. So those battle lines are drawn, again. Somehow, I'm not surprised." He sighed. "So what about you two."

Dodger looked over at Prince and then back at Cowboy, "I'm not sure mate, I think it's a bad idea myself--" he tried to inch away from Prince on the off chance Mary Ann decked him for saying it to Jack. "There has to be another way, I remember the first time, Cowboy-- it was a lark but this is--" It was different when he was the leader, it wasn't just him fighting it was all those other kids he had to take care of.
"My kids will follow me to hell, but I'd rather they not.."

When Jack stated his opinion it was obvious he wasn't going to budge, and getting him to do so would be a feat indeed, and she didn't know if anyone in the world could sway his mind.
Prince knew she was the only one left to offer her opinion after Dodger had said his piece. Of course, after Jack's speech Prince hung her head slightly. She didn't look at either of them when she said, "I told Davey if there was to be a city wide strike he'd have my support. But in the end my kids come first," she said. And in her mind, if they don't listen either way, who would they be hurting more if they did strike, the company or themselves? "I hate to be on the fence boys..." her eyes finally came up and looked at Dodger before she shifted them to Jack. "but I dun think a strike is the best idea... but at the same time... what choice do we have?" She said it to the both of them, but... she couldn't help but put her focus on Cowboy.

Jack shook his head. "I just...there has to be a way to talk to them. David thinks that if we appeal to them with some goils, maybe some of the youngest of us...that might get some adults on our side." He ran a hand through his hair. "Spot's gonna strike no matter what. But if we banded together--we might have a better chance."
He paused, biting his lip. "Given' that would be cuttin' Spot out. I don't know if we want to do that. It's..." He shook his head. "We sure as hell wouldn't be able to step foot in Brooklyn, that's for sure."

Dodger nodded his head slowly and tapped his fingers on his forearm. "We've either got to get Spot to think we agree with him and steer him our way or convince him right off that striking'll do more damage than good.." he glanced over at Prince and tugged on her hair. "What do you think, Princess?" Old tease, he wasn't upset anymore and he didn't want her to be either.
There was just a lot going on with everything, there was safety and power in numbers but you couldn't try the same thing twice. He believed that.

Prince looked at Dodger for a long second before she smiled faintly. Just enough to show that she wasn't upset. It was business, nothing personal, and she'd rather walk out of there with her relationships in tact.
"I talked to Davey about the kids," she said speaking to the both of them as she stood up. "Told 'em about some of the young goils, and boys we got in Queens, and was sure they'd be happy ta help, an' I still am. As for Spot Conlon?" she reached up and tossed her currently hanging down hair over her shoulder, "well youse know as well as I do that Spot is more stubborn than a mule on the horse race track. If we can get him to avoid the strike, then we might be able to avoid it all together. But I dunno just how we could do that." She looked to Jack for inspiration, he knew Spot better than she did, so her hope was that he might have a plan, or even an idea.

(new Day) Unable to find the Manhattan leader in time TipOff sighed and tacked a scribbled note to the front door of Jack's room and gave the note a salute. His mission was done here. Jack,
Meeting at the Leaders Place. Be there or be square.

**New Day**
Prince knocked on Jack's door before she opened it. They hadn't had a serious conversation in... long enough, or too long, or both. She had her short hair, her fading black eye... and all the wonderful things that now made Prince as close as a boy she could get without an operation or two, which she was pretty sure she would never go that far. Either way, here she was, appearing a boy head to toe standing in Jack's door way. "Hi," she said quietly.

"C'mon in," Jack said, chagrined slightly by Prince's extremely boyish look. He hadn't seen her in a while, and suddenly felt guilty about it. Once she was inside, he shut the door, which was an understood sign to the other newsies that he wasn't to be disturbed.
"Take a seat," he told Prince, and he sat on his bed, which faced the only chair in the room. He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Now you tell me if I'm making too big a deal of this, Prince," he said. "Four of my kids...four of 'em, just gone. No warning or nothing. They wasn't even friendly at all." Jack shook his head and met Prince's gaze. "Now is it just me, or does that not happen?" He looked away for a moment, thinking, and then looked back. "You smell a rat at all, or am I just bein' nuts?"
