Jack snorted. "Never said I made it up on my own, did I?" he laughed. "I may be pretty low down, but I've read some shakespeare here and der." He smirked. "And I'm glad ya like me. I was getting worried there." He winked.

"What ya read???" Manhattan gasped and grabbed his arm for support. "Be still mai beatin heart." she smirked up at him. " well what can i say, it was a close call. ya know i could almost hate ya. You bein a no good, attractive bum dat ya are." She sized him up. "And your tall ya know. Tall people like ta towah ovah us litte folk so in retaliation we little folk do what we can." With that she jumped on his back. and grinned around his head at him. Her hair going in her face and her grin lighting up her eyes, like a kid who had just tied her first shoe lace and would need to use scissors to untie them. "Im king of da world!!!" she shouted in victory, raising her arms high and holding on tightly with her leg.

Jack laughed. "Hamlet..Much Ado about Nuthin is my favorite though." He smiled. He shook his head, watching Manhattan. "Really, never a dull moment when I'm around ya girl."

"Sigh no more, ladies, sigh no more, Men were deceivers ever; One foot in sea, and one on shore, To one thing constant never... Then sigh not so, But let them go, And be you blithe and bonny, Converting all your sounds of woe Into Hey nonny, nonny." lowering her arms, Manhattan lightly sung, not in an amazing voice, but in tune. "Cant decide if dats my favorite line because of how frivolous it is or one of Beatrice's, departing line. 'Foul words is but foul wind, and foul wind is but foul breath, and foul breath is noisome; therefore I will depart unkissed.' its just so haughty, i cant pull haughty off well." Manhattan shrugged "But i do enjoy Shakespeare, especially tamin da shrew."
"Nope nevah will be eithah." She grinned crookedly at him still not getting off his back. Hey she was a lightweight due to her height, it wasnt like she was hurting him, atleast she hoped not. "Life just shouldnt be dull." she winked at him, then propped her hands on his head and rested her head on them. "Ya evah get tired of dis view?" she asked not really sure if she meant the view from his height or from the rooftops.

Jack chuckled, turning his head to look up at her a bit. "I got tired of it once, went off to Santa Fe. But damn it all, I missed this view." He smiled. "Learned to be happy with what I have, I guess." He stood up, letting her swing off him. "How about we go back in? I bet the hoard have disappated."

"Disappate?"Manhattan raised her eyebrow "YOuse and your big woirds Jackie Boy me thinks youse been around David to much." nodding nonetheless at the idea of heading in she looked over the edge. Dropping her voice she eased into a better crouching position and motioned for Jack to get down but still come look over the edge "Just one moment ey Jack? ya still got that wet cloth?" She asked her grin growing even more mischievous if that was even possible,as she held out her hand for it. Never taking her eyes off the unsuspecting hoity toity below.
*didnt know who it should be you can put a face/name to the body if you want to ^-^ it might be more fun that way.*

((New Day))
Dodger needed to see Jack, all this strike humming around had him a bit itchy. He'd talked to some of his newsies and that helped some. Well a lot, they were all about as wary about striking as he was but there wasn't really a whole a lot he could do without checking with the other leaders.
Knowing what to do and what not to do was different then having a straight path. He knocked on the door, "Jack Jack! It's Dodger, mate we've got to talk..."

Prince came in the front door of the Manhattan lodging house. There was a hand towel tucked into her back pocket, and her right hand was still scraped up and a little bloody, but she had long since forgotten about the pain in her hand.
As she came inside she used her left hand and waved to the boys. Her hair was still up in her hat, and making her seem as though she were a boy, and nothing were different. She instantly started towards Jack's room but stopped in mid step when she saw Dodger. "Dodger?" Oh dang it! She had been hoping to talk to Jack alone, and maybe avoid strike matters. Too late now. "What're you doin' here?!" she asked just the same.

Dodger heard Prince's voice and spun around to lean against the door, lifting his eyes up and down as he looked her over he smirked, "Princess.." Oh it was a small dig, a little one. Dodger like Prince a lot really but the quiet teasing was just his way. "I wasn't expecting to see you leaving Queens--" Then again being her somewhat lukewarm relationship with Jack was no reason to look to surprised.
He smiled at her, "And how is Queens this fine day?" And how come she was bleeding?

"You know bettah than ta call me that Dodger," she said as she walked closer towards him just a bit of a glare on her face. "I made an exception... had some things to discuss with Jack," she said as she glanced at the door. The glare in her eyes softened a little as she turned back to Dodger, she couldn't stay mad at the man.
"Queens is fine. Jus found out one of my girls got engaged," her tone was under enthused, "so... other than that we're just tryin' to figure out what the hell ta do. People have been sellin' when they could afford to, and in the mean time, I've been waiting to hear from anyone about plans. How about the Bronx? I ain't heard from you neither! I figured the day the prices went up I woulda heard from someone! But even Spot Conlon didn't send word," which she found odd because they shared a distribution.

He put his hand on her head so she'd stop ranting at him, frankly Dodger did keep to himself and his own most of the time. "Calm down, calm down-- I don't know what I'm going to do. Most of my girls are working two jobs just to support their families and frankly I'm no to keen on strikin.. I haven't heard anything from anyone either-- we need a meeting to discuss it all.."
Never play the same trick on the same street corner twice. It only leads to misery. The only good advice he'd ever been given was running threw his head a lot lately.

Prince couldn't help it, she was still mad from the other day and her conversation with Davey. "You against it huh? Personally, I think the Newsies need to unite now more than ever, and..." she stopped herself and took a deep breath. She'd already ranted once, she didn't need to do it again.
"Maybe we had ought to save our opinions on the strike for the meetin'... or whatever it is we're gonna do," she suggested. "And if it's a strike meetin' we're gonna be having maybe we should have a 'hattan kid send word to Spot, and see if he can get up here. might as well get to the point."
She went quite for a second. "You talked to Davey?" she asked.

Dodger frowned and looked down at her as she started to rant but stopped herself, with a grunt he pulled two picks out of his pocket and picked the lock to Jack's door, didn't seem he was here anyway.
He took a hold of Prince's hat and tugged her inside, shitting the door and taking her hat at the same time, "Look Mary Anne... I'm just saying that we need to be smarter than the last time alright? I was there too.." he sighed this was all bollocks as far as he was concerned. "Never try the same trick twice, we were lucky last time we've got to be smarter about this.."
He rarely got this serious about things, he looked around Jack's room for a minute and snorted. "I'm not saying I don't want to strike but I've got to do what's best for the Bronx-- they aren't fighters Mary Anne, I've got to protect them.."

Mary hated when people took her hat. Dodger sure knew how to push buttons, but he also knew he could get away with it so she let it slide. She reached at him to grab the hat back out of his hand and put it on her head, without putting her hair up. "Look," she stated, "I agree, a strike may not be the best idea, but we gotta keep our kids together now! We let them wonder off, get them involved elsewhere, they could get in trouble."
She nearly laughed when he said the Bronx kids weren't fighters. "Yeah, because Queens Newsies get up every day of the week and go out and soak scabs! It's our favorite past time. Don't you talk to me... about tough, Dodger." She looked at him fiercely. "If a strike ain't gonna unite the newsies what is? And if we ain't united... we're beggin' ta get picked up and hired as thieves which'll land the young ones in the refuge... land everyone in the refuge fastah then Snyder can put 'em on the wanted board." She needed to make sure that her kids stayed out of trouble!

He straightened and looked at her fiercly, he'd always agreed to leave well enough alone but she was hitting buttons. He had buttons too and he wasn't so keen on them at the moment. He didn't say anything he just stared her down, when he was quiet he was more dangerous then when he was laughing and rolling with the punches.
"We're in the middle, Prince, you and I-- you and I can defend our kids but I can't ask those girls in that lodging house with families to support to fight.."
