Bumlets spun around in his chair and looked at the two behind him, giving Blink a very dry look before he smacked his feet. "Don't know, saw Snoddy over with some Queens kids but no one else. Just waitin' around and I took a nap.." he grunted before he looked over at Brook and she gave him a smile. He rolled his eyes and sat back down for a moment before he let out a grunt. "Good luck.." with Blink because he was about as sharp as a ball.
Brook sighed and leaned back in her chair, sure it hurt and she was upset that he could be with her and always be thinking about every other girl in the place. She couldn't begrudge Lexie, she was a gorgeous girl. Gorgeous white girl. As the thought crossed her mind she shook it off and looked over for Snoddy before she edged up on the seat and waved, a small smile crossing her face. Even after that uncomfortable situation that had come about, they'd bonded when they went looking for squirrels.
"Snoddy!" she grinned before she sat back down and gave Blink's face a light shove before she sighed. "You know if you never say anything there is no one to blame but yourself, bebe." oh it was the truth, because she was living sitting proof of that. Because she never said but she kissed his cheek. "Bonehead.." with a sigh she settled back down.

Snoddy smiled down at Half Pint, ruffling his hair as he tried to get his coughing fit under control. Maybe he wouldn't wind up being the only non-smoker on the island after all.
"Snoddy!"
Hearing his name being called, Snoddy looked up, and saw Brook LeRue waving at him from a few tables over. Feeling a blush creep up his neck, he distractedly handed the ash tray across to Styx before rising. "Hang on a second, guys, I'll be right back..."
Ohhh, this was stupid. He should've just waved back, smiled, and kept his ass at his own table. But nooo, he had to go say hello. And--oh, shit, Blink was seated next to her. Shit, shit, shit! But it was too late, he couldn't just whip around and return to Styx and Half Pint now.
"Heya Blink, Bumlets," Snoddy said, nodding in each boy's direction before turning his gaze to Brook, his voice softening considerably. "Hi, Brook."

Bumlets looked up at Snoddy when he came over and his brow hiked as he looked between him and Brook and then at Blink, who was watching the female Bronx leader being lead in by her brother and he rolled his eyes.
If he didn't notice the look that Snoddy gave Brook (hell not like Brook noticed she was smiling back at him with a breath about to start a conversation over Blink's head) he would assume that his old friend was blind and stupid. Sighing he gave Blink a serious look. "And the award for most likely to be oblivious goes to Louis.. " with a wave of his hand Brian turned back around and wished that he could get his information and get the hell out of here before he had the urge to just hit Blink.

Brook smiled at her friend and didn't even hear Bumlets mutter when she looked up at him, Blink wasn't paying any attention so she sighed and tilted her head up to her friend. "You look warn out, mon choux." she looked behind him recognizing Styx but having never spoken to him before she didn't really know to much about him. Hell she rarely left Manhattan unless he was running errands for her brothers.
She reached up and pinched Blink's nose because he was staring at Lexi, again, before she smiled up at Snoddy once more. The encounter in the tree had her shifting her eyes way for a moment. "Pull up a seat. There's plenty a room.."

Lexi glanced around the room while she waited for Reid to get back with her drink. She didn't see anyone she recognized but it was hard to see past some people in this room and that's when she saw Blink. She gave him a small smile when he glanced her way and then looked up when Reid came back, gruffly asking who she was fluffing herself up for. Laughing, Lexi took her water and shook her head, "Just a friend." When he muttered yeah yeah under his breath she laughed again and slapped his arm lightly. "Considering you got so lost in the eyes of Alanna you forgot to pick me up I really don't think you have any room to talk."

Blink swatted Brook's hand away when she went for his nose, snuffling like a dog who'd just snorted up a dandelion head. "Don't do that," he mumbled, swiping at his nose, barely taking his eyes off Lexi.
Lexi's brother had left the table, leaving her alone for a minute, and Blink was considering going over. When the Bronx girl looked his way and smiled, that sealed the deal.
"I'll be back, girl," he said to Brook, leaning in to kiss her cheek. Looking up to Snoddy, only just realizing he was there at all, he hid his surprise by saying, "Snods, look out for Brook for a minute. There's some guy around here somewhere tried to pen her in a minute ago."
Before leaving, Blink leaned forward and flicked the shell of Bumlets's ear with his middle finger, none too gently. "Don't call me Louis," he grumbled before abandoning his table to go join Lexi. Her brother had returned by then, but that didn't matter to Blink.
"Heya, Lexi!" he greeted, coming up alongside her brother. "I see you got yourself an escort after all, huh?" He tipped his head in her brother's direction, indicating that he recalled Lexi had been on the docks alone in the first place because her brother hadn't shown up to pair up with her. To him, Blink turned and stuck out his hand. "Hey, uh..." Damn, he couldn't remember the boy's name now... "I'm Blink."

Lexi joked around for a bit more with Reid before Blink reached the table and announced his prescence. Lexi turned her head and gave him a bright smile. "Hey Blink how have you been?" reid looked him up and down for a moment as if assesing his personality and man er. After a moment he introduced himself and asked Blink to stay with Lexi until he got back before walking awahly to give them some privacy. Lexi shrugged at her brothers behavior and invited Blink to sit down with her.

Dodger moved to the stage and let out a whistle, there were even Brooklyn kids and he knew a few of them. But this was no time for chatting.
"ALRIGHT LISTEN UP!" he shouted at the top of his lungs intending to silence the entire brood. "We're moving out! and we're gettin' em back. You come with us there ain't no guarantees we're comin' back. They've got guns and we don't, they got probably more man power and we don't. But since when has that ever stopped us before. We've got to much of our own bein' locked away in a place. Bein' taken from us. It's time we get em back.. Jack's readyin what we're gonna need and he knows the way. If you're with us.. you're with us if you not..." he turned to look at Prince and Jack.
Let them have their say.

Prince glanced to Jack for a moment before stepping up to talk. A million things shot through her head all at once. She stood tall, strong, and as manly as she could muster! She had to not only be convincing but talk like she knew what was up too.
She took a deep breath, lowered her voice to the male octave, and said, "Be confident. If ya don't wanna try it, if ya think it's too risky, if you think you'd be better off stayin' here... then do so. Everyone who can come... who wants to come... please do. But for those of you who believe they would be no help, then stay here. If Dodger's right," and she was sure he was, "we'll need people holding down the fort here, and ready for us when we come home," especially if they come back carrying their hurt... or worse. "For those of you coming, be ready, stand strong, be confident and careful. Stay smart," she advised. "I know we can get them home safe..."
She backed up a little, and let Jack have his say. She was sure there were things he'd like to add before leading their charge. She hoped it would work, she feared the worst, but they were prepared for anything, she hoped.

Jack knew he needed to tell them the hard truth.
He agreed with everything Dodger and Prince were saying. But it was what they failed to say that bothered him. They were giving everyone the option of coming, depending on what they felt would be the best course of action. With an option like that, what newsie wouldn't come? What newsie wouldn't want to help their leader, their fellows, and the kidnapped kids? They would have people there who didn't realize what they were getting themselves into until it was too late. And when they realized exactly what they were doing--they might become frightened. And in their fright, they might endanger others. However he did it, Jack needed to make sure that those kind of people knew to stay at home.
He stepped up after Prince had finished, letting his eyes scan the crowd before speaking. "Not all of you should be comin' with us," he began. "In fact most of you should be stayin' right here. We won't think no less of ya. You ain't a coward for it, neither." He glanced at Prince and Dodger before continuing. "We been up against scabs who could fight like the best of us. We whipped finks with clubs and chains. But there ain't nothin' you can do...ain't nothin' you can do...to keep from gettin' shot. Look around!" He made a wide gesture to the packed hall. "Not everyone here is gonna be here tomorrow. If you come with us, you will get hurt. You may die." It was killing him, but they needed to know. He couldn't afford kids getting scared and getting hurt. "If you think you can deal with that, you can come with us and save those kids. If there's even the slightest hesitation in your mind...hold down the fort here, a'right? Cause you'll dissapoint me an' Prince an' Dodger more if you end up coming and then wishin' you hadn't."
Praying he had gotten through to the newsies, Jack stepped back and looked at Prince and Dodger meaningfully. Was now the moment?

Lexi stood as the leaders began speaking and people crowded the stage. She needed to see them and hear what they had to say. What they said made sense especially Jack, but she wasn't afraid of dying she was more afraid of not seeing her brother again. She looked around the room and studied the faces of the people here. Who wouldn't make it back? Would it be her? Reid? Dodger? Blink? All of them?

When the silence fell Lucky stood up on her chair, she was only there because she liked Jack and she looked around the place. "Well since Spot aint here and neither is Smalls I've got my say don't I?" her brow lifted and she stood up on her table. "Brooklyn is goin' we don't have options. How many of us ever thought we'd live this long anyway huh!? I don't know about you idiots but I'm goin to fight and if I die, so be it I actually died for somethin' then dyin in a damn gutter. At least this way, we die with some kina purpose.." She was still bruised up from her tangle.
"But I ain't goin down without a fight. We all know it's dog eat dog in this world, and I intend to get them before they get me.. it's just that simple. Most a Brooks is already on their way... If you want to be scared, that's fine. Fear can make you brave.." she rubbed her ribs and jumped down. "Now I'm getting a drink, and goin' and gettin our friends back.."

Dodger ran his hands over his face, thanks Miranda you have a habit of undoing everything. "Look! I don't want everyone going.. we've got fighters in our number. We need people to stay here and if you don't no one thinks different... some of us like Brooklyn over there aren't afraid to die.. but that's not for everyone. I don't intend to let my girls waste their lives here... most of them are staying here. I'm not letting those that could just die on me go and meet death. It's not happening."
(forgive lack of accent Dodger muse is not letting me take the time)

Lexi stood up on a chair and shot Dodger a glare, "You may speak for some Dodger, but you don't speak for all. You're our leader not our dictator and I know I for one am going. As for everyone else they can make their own choice. We know the dangers, we're not stupid insipid children." Stepping down, Lexi turned and walked towards her brother touching his arm to get his attention and they both left together. They weren't going far, but she needed air. What an ass!

Dodger rolled his eyes. "Did I bloody say, Oh Lexi... you there.. in the skirt.. you're not goin? No.. I said most of my girls... I didn't say all of them.. you're to bloody stubborn and I couldn't have kept you put if I bloody tried. And.. can we argue on the way please? NOT while I'm on stage.. with everyone lookin at me?"
