Lexi thought about flipping him the bird on the way out but decided it would be even more childish then her outburst. She hasn't freaked out on someone like that in a long time, excluding Reid. She was usually so calm. But with Perry gone so long she just couldn't handle it anymore. Good thing he didn't mean her because she'd have told him to shove it. Once she was outside, she took a deep breath and demanded a cigarette from some loitering newsie. The way she spoke and looked he didn't hesitate in handing one over. Reid walked up next to her, "Nice Lex, you don't smoke." Shrugging she lit it with a match and inhaled and coughed with a disgusted look on her face. She'd rather have a drink.

Dodger jumped down from the stage to go after Lexi, he wasn't done fighting yet. He waved off Jack as he knocked Lucky in the head as he passed her. He ignored her comments as he managed to get out the door and found Lexi with a smoke. He looked at Reid as he walked up. "Alright, go get Lanna, we're moving out... Lexi.. we're not done.."

Lexi shoved the cigarette towards her brother before he walked away to find Alanna. He gave her a smirk at Dodgers tone and she nearly hissed at him. Tonight was not the night to mess with her. Turning towards Dodger she crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow, "Yes master?"

Fighter listened intently to the leaders and then a smirk crossed her face when Lucky stood up and spoke. She agreed wholeheartedly with her friend. Anyone who didn't go was beyond useless they were pansies too. If you can't do something for someone else especially something of this importance then what were you? You certainly weren't someone worth knowing. Her fellow Brooklynites were in need and she was going to be there for them. That's what loyalty was. When the new female Bronx leader stood and rebutted what Dodger said Fight couldn't help but laugh. Inwardly the girl went up a few notches in her book even what she'd said had come off more as a tantrum than anything else. Fighter stood after she walked out and Dodger followed and hailed Sonkai to bring them another round. She downed what was left in her cup and gave her friend a smile. "I'm ready to kick some damn ass!"

Half Pint shifted nervously in his seat and frowned confused. Some people might not make it back? Did that mean... He shook his head trying to push the bad thoughts away. Then, the look on his face went from one of confusion to looking like he might cry.
Half Pint looked around at the other newsies in the room and scowled, at Dodger's comment about some kids remaining here, to not fight. He clenched his hand tighter around the handle of his slingshot, which he had taken back out during the speeches. I'm not gonna be left behind. I can fight just as well, he thought to himself. He looked at Styx, and scowled trying to hide the fear he felt. Half Pint stood up and gripped his slingshot tighter still, his knuckles almost turning white. "Let's go, Styx! Let's go fight!" he exclaimed, unsuccessfully trying to hide the shakiness in his voice. He was scared, but he wanted to prove that he wasn't a baby.

Irving had joined the party late, so to speak, arriving just before the leaders got on stage. Throughout the meeting, he had sat in the back, sipping on a glass of whiskey and chuckling at all the heroic speeches. He had been debating for a while wither or not to bother coming at all, but in the end he decided it'd be a good chance to work out some of his aggression. When things “ended” he finished his drink, and headed outside, keeping an eye out for the Brooklyn lot. Wherever they went, was where the fun would be...

The leader's speeches had Styx’s adrenaline pumping. Though he was extremely loyal to Prince, he agreed more with Lucky and the rest of Brooklyn, than he did with the other leaders. Kicking ass was exactly what he planned on doing. So focused was he, on getting Nike back, that he completely forgot about Half Pint.
"Let's go, Styx! Let's go fight!"
He could see the boy was trying to hide his fear, but the determination in his face had Styx worried. Tact would be needed here and the older newsie only hoped he could pull this off. Sinking down to the child’s level, Styx put on a worried look. “Sure, sure, but I only wonder...who will protect the people staying here? All the people who will be waiting to tend the injured are going to be completely unprotected while we’re gone!” He paused, as though in thought, then looked to HP expectantly. “What would you suggest we do, Cub?”

“What would you suggest we do, Cub?”
Half Pint looked around at the newsies who remained in their seats, looking like they were going to stay. Then he looked back at Styx and shrugged, "Well... I guess I could protect them..." He slumped back into his seat, to make it seem like he was upset about having to stay behind but inside he was secretly relieved. He took one more look around the room, and turned back to Styx. "Um, Styx..." He bit his bottom lip, and this time wasn't afraid to show that he was worried, "If I stay to protect the little kids, the girls, and anyone else who stays then who's gonna protect you and Snoddy?" He looked down at where Snoddy was standing and jutted his bottom lip out a bit. Snoddy was like a big brother to him and now, Styx, was his friend... He was worried he might lose them both. Then, he'd be all alone again.

”Well... I guess I could protect them..."
Styx pretended to be shocked, “You’d do that? I’m impressed, boyo. Ya’re awfully brave to volunteer. Make sure to listen to whoever’s left in charge and to stay sharp, yeah? We’re gonna be counting on you,” he said solemnly, for the first time being serious. The last thing the people staying behind would want is a kid on a power trip going haywire.
"Um, Styx, if I stay to protect the little kids, the girls, and anyone else who stays then who's gonna protect you and Snoddy?"
“We’ll watch each other’s backs. With out you there to back us up it will be more difficult, but you’re needed here. Snoddy and I will just have to stay on our toes.” Speaking of whom, where was Snoddy? He’d have to make a point to find the Aussie before they left.

Half Pint nodded his head in acknowledgment. He reached into his pocket to make sure he had enough marbles in there to last until everyone returned from the fight.

Half Pint forced a brave smile onto his face and then looked in Snoddy's direction. "I wonder if he'll remember to say goodbye..." He crossed his arms in front of chest and scowled, "Probably too busy flirting with a stupid girl to remember me."

Snoddy shoved his way back through the crowd, even thicker now that everyone had come to their feet to mill around after the meeting's abrupt ending with the Bronx leaders' bickering, to appear at Styx's side again, looking very displeased.
"You guys ready to go?" he asked gruffly, scowling. Seething just a little, he turned away, looking back in the direction he'd come from. There were too many people in the way now for him to catch eyes with her, but another thought occurred to him: dense as the crowd was, Half Pint was going to have a hell of a time pushing through everyone to follow them out.
Besides, the kid had a way of soothing his frazzled nerves.
"Let's go, I'll walk with you back to Queens," he said, forcing himself to shake his bad mood. Dropping down to one knee, he asked Half Pint, "Wanna ride?" It'd be a lot easier for all of them if Half Pint rode Snoddy's shoulders through the crowd.

Styx nodded and began pushing his way towards the door once Half Pint was on Snoddy's shoulders. "We'll drop ya off at the LH to stand guard, cub, then me 'n Snoddy are comin back here, alright?" He had to shout to make himself heard, but he wanted the kid to feel importance in his mission. ((moves on to Queens LH - fron steps))

Brook didn't stop to wait for blink, she fell in step with Bumlets as they all started out. She rubbed her stomach. She was running out of time and she knew it. But what more could she do? Looking over at one of the quieter Manhattan boys has he gathered himself up she fell into step with him out of the meeting hall.
Meeting over...
