With a carousel and a ferris wheel, this place is a blast!

Nike broke away from the other two almost immediately after entering the amusement park. “Look! Cotton candy!” she shouted pointing to a booth selling the fluffy pink treat.
“Ya got a one track mind, ya know that, gersha?” Styx rolled his eyes at his twin.
“Only when it comes to my stomach!” she replied grinning at him. “Come on, boys!” And with that, she grabbed Avalanche’s arm and pulled him toward the cotton candy stand, trusting her brother to follow eventually. Which he did…

Avalanche laughed and followed after her, without much choice it would seem. He wasn't a big fan of spun sugar himself, but watching her become so happy over the treat was worth just the show alone. Avalanche glanced at Styx and couldn't help but laugh. "C'mon kid! Catch up! Nike an' I'll leave ya in the dust if ya don't," he warned. Avalanche was no slow kid himself. He'd run a lot back when he was a newsie. It's a requirement.

She let go of Avalanche as they reached the cotton candy stand and was shortly joined by her twin. “What took ya so long, slow poke?” she teased as Styx faked a punch at her head, making her duck. He laughed and then set the six cents on the counter required for two cotton candies. Then, remembering Avalanche, reached into his coat pocket for another three.
“Do ya want some too?” He asked, still grinning.

"No no," he said shaking his head and holding up his hands. "I'm fine, really, but thanks," he said with a nod before he put his hands into his pockets. But he looked at the cotton candy vendor and smiled and gave him a nod. The vendor smiled back to him, as though they were long and old friends. And chances were pretty good that they actually were. Avalanche knew the entire lower class of New York, or it seemed that way sometimes. "But now that we got this... what's your 'one-track-mind' wanna do now?" he asked using the phrase that Styx had used earlier as a joke.

After receiving their cotton candy, the two looked at each other. Just what DID they want to do? “I vote ferris wheel,” Nike declared as she shoved a bit of the tasty treat in her mouth, enjoying the way it melted. Styx looked at her a moment putting some cotton candy in his own mouth as he thought it over.
“Well, I say roller coaster,” Styx challenged, wiggling his eyebrows at Nike. The twins turned to Avalanche, silently asking where he wanted to go.

"Hey, don't look at me, I just came along on this carnival ride you two call a family," he said as a joke. "I'm nothin' but a spectator, and random participator. You two call the shots, and flip a coin if ya can't decide, but don't ask me! I'm stayin out of this sibling rivalry."
(sorry it's so short.))

Nike snorted a bit as Avalanche finished, then collapsed onto her brother laughing. Styx looked down at her trying valiantly to keep a straight face but completely failed when he too started laughing his head off. By this time Nike was laughing so hard she was having trouble breathing. After a few moments of unchecked mirth, the twins calmed down, wiped their eyes, and avoided eye contact at all cost.
“Carnival ride you two call a family!” Styx chuckled, “That’s pretty good, mate. Ya come up with that all by yaself?” Then, reaching into one of the pockets of his coat, he pulled out one of the two Morgan dollars Avalanche had just given them. And, with a significant look at Nike, flipped it into the air. “Call it!” He shouted quickly.
“Heads!” Nike replied, following a gut feeling. Styx caught the dollar in his right hand and slapped it onto the backside of his left. Nike tried to get a peak of it underneath his hand, but Styx’s groan was enough. “Haha!” Nike laughed. “Roller coaster it is!” At that, Styx’s head shot up.
“Wait, roller coaster? I thought you said you wanted to ride the ferris wheel!”
“Well, I did,” Nike explained, “but I changed my mind.” She shrugged at her twin.
“Then the whole coin flip was a waste a time!” Styx was a bit exasperated with his twin.
“Maybe to YOU it was, but I won. And that’s never a waste a time,” she grinned at him innocently. “Come on you bags a bones!! Last one to the coaster’s a jack in the box!” And with that she raced off toward the giant wooden track that rose into the air, Styx close on her heals.
(( Jack in the box (n): A dead Dublin man ))

If course, not wanting to be left in the dust Avalanche followed after him. it was typical of him to be a bit of a joker, and poke fun at others. He just... was a little outta practice was all.
Now Avalanche was nothing to scoff at with his running. He used to be pretty fast when he was a kid, and he still was pretty quick now! Once again, he was out of practice, his strength was mostly in his arms now, not so much his legs, so he lost some of his speed, but he was able to keep up with these two! Which he considered an accomplishment, considering. Though, why it was bad to be a Jack in the Box... he didn't understand.

*New Day*
Catherine's eyes lit up as she looked at the festivities around her. She felt like a kid. She was a kid and now she could act like one. There was no one around watching her, waiting for her to mess up or anyone to prevent her from doing anything for the chance she might get hurt. She squeezed Reeves' arm, happy to be there with him. She looked at him, her eyes sparkling with exciting.
"There's so much to do. What shall we do first?"

"There's so much to do. What shall we do first?"
Reeves grinned looking around at the park, and then looking into Catherine's now sparkling eyes.
"Hmmm, we could ride the ferris wheel, or get some cotton candy, or we could do the ring toss. I've been working on my aim," He said. "Or we could see if we can swing the hammer and ring the bell. As for me, I can't wait to eat cotton candy, my favorite, besides ice cream."
"We can do all that and more, we have all the time in the world, or well at least a whole afternoon," He corrected himself, smirking.

Christina scrunched up her nose. "I've never had cotton candy," she laughed a little. "Or ice cream for that matter." She'd never been allowed sweets except for the occasional piece of chocolate she received every Christmas. The chocolate wasn't even completely sweetened, so Catherine wasn't all to fond of it's taste.
"Let's go on the ferris wheel. I'd love to see the city from a bird's eye."

"I've never had cotton candy, Or ice cream for that matter."
Reeves' jaw dropped open and his eyes widened. He turned to face her and exclaimed, "What?? You've never had ice cream or cotton candy? We'll hafta fix that."
"Let's go on the ferris wheel. I'd love to see the city from a bird's eye."
He grinned as his agreement and took her hand, tugging her through the crowd towards the big exciting looking wheel, turning slowly on the horizon. They waited in line and then it was their turn and they climbed on. As the ferris wheel started moving, Reeves let out out a little whoop, an excited boyish grin on his face.

Catherine smiled and laughed. She'd been doing that a lot lately, laughing. That's not to say she wasn't happy; she did smile a lot, but hadn't noticed how seldom she laughed until this day when she laughed the most. When their car was on the very top, her eyes widened in amazement.
"Wow," she about whispered, "it's beautiful."

"Wow," she about whispered, "it's beautiful."
"Yeah it sure is. You can just about see Manhattan all the way from up here."
The ferris wheel pulled to a slow stop for a moment. Reeves knew the old tradition, when you got to the top of the ferris wheel, you were supposed to kiss your girl.
"I wish we could just stay up here like this forever, don't you?" He asked. He looked down at the amusement park grounds and made up his mind, he took her hand and kissed her on the cheek. He stared into her green eyes for a moment, a little blush creeping up his neck. He wondered how Catherine would react.
