He leaned back and tossed the last ring, watching it intensely, hoping for the best. He watched in horror as it bounced off the bottle and dropped to the ground. An "Oohhh" went through the small crowd that was watching.
Before Reeves could turn away, the older man running the booth stopped him. "Wait just a minute there young man. You only missed it by a hare, it would be a shame to let this here music box go to somebody else besides this pretty little girl. Here, I'm giving you one more try, laddy."
Reeves looked up in surprise and then grinned at Catherine. He wasn't bout to turn down this offer. He took the ring gingerly. He waited for a short moment, staring at the bottle getting refocused, he let it go finally and with a satisfying clank, the last ring fell into place.
"Well done, me boy!" The old man cried, handing Reeves' the music box, knowing that's exactly what he wanted.
Reeves thanked him and turned to Catherine, a wide proud grin on his face. He took her hand gently, and placed it in hers, not having to say anything, just smiling at her.

A wide smile spread across Catherine's face when Reeves' was awarded a second chance and when he succeeded in ringing the last bottle she couldn't help but clap and jump up and down in excitement. "Good show, Seth."
She looked down at the music box that was placed in her hand and cupped it with her other, examining it closely. She looked up at Reeves' with sparkling eyes full of appreciation. Not caring who was around or who would see her, Catherine wrapped her arms around his neck, embracing him.
"Thank you. I shall cherish it, always."

"Thank you. I shall cherish it, always."
Reeves smiled down at her, more happy than ever to see Catherine so happy. He just didn't want the day to end, he didn't want to part with Catherine Woodruff. But he knew, it wasn't his place and it never was going to be.
"C'mon, why don't we see some of the city before it gets dark," He said, taking her arm, and guiding her away from the cheerful noisy amusement park. He knew his favorite place that he wanted to bring her too.

Catherine held the music box close to her as she followed him out of the park. She didn't see how the day could get any better and yet, she knew it would. It was a day she would remember forever. She just hoped it wouldn't be the last.

*New Day*
Steve walked along the little paths of Steeplechase, taking in all lit up ferris wheel and different color lanterns. All the lights, the chatter from the crowd, the infectious feeling of excitement surged through Steve, and he had no idea why. He had a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips and he felt like he could climb to the top of the ferris wheel. It wasn't like anybody was meeting him there, or he had some intention to be there. He just loved Coney Island, ever since he was a kid. He had the worst day at work, sweat, boss yelling, snobby jockeys, fighting gamblers, spilled peanuts everywhere. But he found himself having a good time just enjoying the sights. He usually didn't go many places. But Coney Island was just one of those places. A place where you could forget and let loose. Steve let out a small sigh and slowed his walking, watching all the excitement pass by.

Muse walked with her hands in her pockets. Lightly she jingled the money she had made selling that day and a smile graced her lips, she was able to sell 30 instead of her usual 20. Weaving her way through the crowd she looked at all the people who walked by. Bringing one hand out of her pocket she easily unbuttoned the buttons of her black vest and smiled at a kid that ran past her. Turning her head to look at all the people she didn't see the person in front of her and smacked head first into him. In a daze she fell backwards onto her rump with a small "Ooof."

Steve knocked out of his gaze literally when something ran into him hard, he was strong enough that he wasn't knocked down, but when he looked down to see a girl sitting flat on her rump, a surprised look on his face, he realized what happened. He blinked down at her thrice, as she looked back up at him, before he thought, Move Steve move. Don't just stand there like an idiot.
"Er right," he mumbled and held out a hand to help her up. "Sorry, my fault, didn't realize I stopped walking." He apologized, and gave her a small smile, running a hand through his dark hair.

Muse blinked a few times, mentally going over all the bones in her body to make sure nothing was broken. Even though she knew that none would be she just wanted to be sure. Once deciding she was fine she looked up at the guy.
"Sorry, my fault, didn't realize I stopped walking."
Laughing a bit she took his hand and let him pull her up. "It ain't your fault, it was mine I wasn't watchin' where I was walkin'." She said as she smiled up at him.

"It ain't your fault, it was mine I wasn't watchin' where I was walkin'."
Steve nodded, glancing around before a tiny smile played on his face. "It was both our faults, mine for stopping, yours for not looking. And its easy to get lost for a minute in Coney Island."
Steve was surprised to find himself saying so much, he was usually pretty quiet. Thinking about this, he looked down at his shoes, hooking his thumbs in his wear and tear suspenders, and said, "It's crowded tonight, nice weather."

Nodding in agreement she laughed again. "I'm still sorry for bumpin' inta ya like that. There's just so much ta see here that you kinda forget where ya goin'." Pushing her braid over her shoulder she smiled at him.
"It's crowded tonight, nice weather."
"Yeah it is." She said as she looked around. Bringing her attention back to him she smiled and held out her hand. "I'm Muse."

"I'm Muse."
Steve fixed his gaze up on the sky, at the stars. It was funny how the stars didn't shine as bright as the lights of Coney Island. There was some competition.
"Steve." He told her, looking down at her hand before taking it and shaking it. He couldn't quite avoid those pretty blue eyes as hard as he tried, and the smile still tugged at his lips.

"Steve."
"Good ta meet ya." She said with a smile and looked up at the sky to see what he was looking at. A tiny frown presented itself on her lips as she saw that the stars dulled in comparison to the lights of the amusement park. Putting her hands in her pockets she shook the frown away and swayed on her feet a little. "So, where were ya headed before we bumped into each other?" She asked her smile now returning.

"So, where were ya headed before we bumped into each other?"
Steve smiled slightly and shrugged, "I wasn't really going anywhere, just wandering. Don't even know why I'm here in the first place. My two feet led me here I guess, maybe I was sleep walking. What about you?"
He eyed the cotton candy stand with a smirk, watching a little kid holding a cotton candy for his little sister, taking bites while she attempted to tie her shoes.

"Just takin' a walk before I hafta head back ta the lodgin' house." She said with a smile. As she started to watch the people around them. She looked to where he was looking and laughed a bit. "Think she'll notice he's stealin' some?"

Steve smiled, "I dunno, I hope so, other wise she won't have any cotton candy left by the time she finishes tying."
Steve found himself staring at all the delicious food stands, and tugged at the dollar in his pocket, his stomach grumbling. "Um..You hungry?"
