"I dunno, I hope so, other wise she won't have any cotton candy left by the time she finishes tying."
Laughing she nodded in agreement. "Yeah I hope so too." She said as she looked back over at him.
"Um..You hungry?"
Shaking her head with a smile she patted her stomach laughing still. "I just ate. Want me ta leave ya alone so you can eat?"

"Yeah I hope so too."
Steve smiled shyly back and turned his gaze back at the ferris wheel. It was so tall, it reached the sky, Steve was sure.
"I just ate. Want me ta leave ya alone so you can eat?"
Steve shook his head quickly, "Naw, you don't have to, but if you wants to leave I don't want to hold you here either. Um...well, we could uh, compromise? I get myself a hotdog, and we could find a bench to sit on or something, that way you don't have to leave, and I can have dinner."

Shaking her head she smiled, "No, I don't want ta leave." She listened to his plan and nodded. "That sounds like a good idea." Pushing her hands back into the pockets of her trousers she never let the smile fall from her face as she looked at him. "Ya know there's one stand here that sells the best hot dogs around."

"Oh yeah, I remember hearing about it. Along the front stands. Timmy's? Ain't that what its called?" Steve asked scratching his head as he recalled it. "I'll go get one then, meet you at that bench over there, under the lights." Steve gestured to a nice little out of the way bench where you could see the moving ferris wheel and colored lights. He smiled and headed towards the front of the park, walking a little faster. He liked Muse and he didn't want her to have to wait too long.

"Yeah that's the one." She said with a laugh as she nodded at him. She had one of the hot dogs from there one time, it was the best she'd ever had.
"I'll go get one then, meet you at that bench over there, under the lights."
Looking to where he gestured she nodded to him. "Okay, I'll meet ya there." She watched him walk towards the front of the park before she made her way to the bench he had pointed out. Stepping up on the bench she sat on the back of it leaning forward a bit and waited for him.

Steve came back, and spotted Muse on the bench he had told her to wait at. He had the hot dog in his hand. It was one of those big footlong ones, and Steve had loaded it down with mustard and ketchup and pickles and everything else. He grinned at her and sat down.
"Guess what? I'm gonna earn myself a dollar tonight. The feller at the stand bet me a dollar if I could eat it all," Steve smirked in his shy little happy way.

Muse smiled at Steve as he made his way over to the bench. Leaning forward a bit more she clasped her hands together, her braid falling over her shoulder swinging gently, her light blue ribbon a startling contrast to her brown hair.
"Guess what? I'm gonna earn myself a dollar tonight. The feller at the stand bet me a dollar if I could eat it all,"
Laughing a bit, she looked at the hot dog loaded with condiments. "That's a pretty big hot dog. But I think ya can do it." She said with confidence and winked at him with a wide smile.

*New Day*
Emily sat on the wooden horse of the carousel the same way she would a regular horse -- with both legs on one side. Her head lay on the horse's mane as the cool, late summer wind slowly spun. There weren't a lot of people around, not on this carousel anyway. They had built a new, more extravagant one while this one sat in the back rotting away.
