'holy shit.'
was the only thing jade can think as he kissed her.'oh my god!'
jade pulled away slightly and stared at him unable to believe that he just did that.
'i am going to faint!' jade thought and blinked rapidly and looked at her lap.
she didn't dare look at reeves,unsure what he thought about it.
she looked back up into his eyes and was extremely unsure what to do.
'Aww man,after kissing a smart guy my IQ went down!.'
she thought to herself and she couldn't help but laugh aloud,'i am an idiot.'
she mumbled.

Darry smiled slightly and laughed as well, not the reaction he was expecting. But when could you exactly predict how Jade would act?
He smiled, his face still a little red. Reeves was sitting up, watching them with a quirked eyebrow his eyebrow, gaping at the pair of them, the most confused shocked look on his face.
Danny hadn't even noticed. He was too busy trying to get his black scuffed up boot to stay balanced on the empty milk bottle. He found various ways to amuse himself in the evening after supper.

jade looked at reeves and laughed at his expression,then at darry.Why did he laugh?
"Sorry."
ugh what do i say?
jade looked into dary's eyes and leaned in and kissed him softly.
"I'se am sorry."
she whispered.

Darry shook his head gently and took her hand again. "No, its alright. You have no reason to be sorry. I was only laughing cuz I was just as surprised as you. I didn't know I would be able to get the guts up like that."
Danny had disappeared during the apologies. Alice stood up and then the thought dawned on her.
"Danny! You stay away from the cake in that pantry. You just ate supper!" Alice scolded. Danny's groan drifted from the kitchen.
"Aw come on Alice, I'm hungry!" He proclaimed.
"Growing boys these days...I swear," Alice muttered and strode towards the kitchen to swat her brother out of the kitchen.

jade intertwined her fingers and looked at a very suprised reeves,wondering what his reaction would be.
"Thank ya."Jade whispered to darry,if she was by herself she would be running down the street and shouting,barely able to contain her happiness.jade wondered what reeves was thinking about all of this.

(jade will be back she has to settle something)
jade shook her head and stood up and apologized to everyone,saying she had to take care of something important.
she looked back at darry and let her hand settle on his cheek,she kissed his cheek and said goodbye and walked out the door,feeling bad for having to leave but she needed closure with her mother...it would be eating at her all night.

*few hours later*
Reeves stumbled into the dark apartment, Jade in his grip. She had passed out the moment he had found her, had gone limp in his arms. He trembled slightly as he laid her gently on the couch.
He lit some lanterns and lit the living room before bursting into Alice's room. "Alice! Alice! Wake up! Jade is hurt! She's bleeding!"

jade stirred slightly from the loud outburst,jade blinked and thought the dream that she had,seeing her mom and the fight,the pain...jade looked at her thigh,jade could say nothing but shout."holy gosh reeves!"as loud as she could.she was taking it quit well,not really.

Reeves face went pale again as he heard Jade shout out his name in pain and quickly threw over his shoulder to Alice, "Alice, come quick!"
He hurried over to her and took her hand, brushing some stray hairs away from her forehead. "It will be okay Jade, Alice will be with you, and I'm going to get the doctor."

jade nodded and clutched his hand.she didn't want him to go,she couldn't stay,jade feared that her mother would come....tears clouded her vision.jade groaned and clutched her thigh.

Alice came out of her room and quickly knelt beside Jade.
"I'm here, honey, I'm here," Alice coaxed.
Reeves couldn't bear to see Jade in pain any longer. "I'm gonna go get the doctor," he choked out and bolted out the apartment door.

jade yelped when alice gingerly touched,she heard rustling from darry's and danny's room.
you hear them talking to one another.
jade put her head down and took deep breaths,she did not like this one bit.
"somethin in dere,she took me knife,I tink some of its in dere."

jade was in and out of sub consciousness.
she wished her brother char was here....but he was dead,she felt alone and in pain.
"A....alice?"
she croaked.

Jade knocked on her friend reeves door and took a last puff before throwing her cigarette to the ground and stepping on it, thinking about how reeves would be angry if he would see her smoke. She chuckled to herself at the thought. she loved being here, just like family jade took off her hat in respect and started whistling.

Reeves was lazing on the couch like usual, trying to read a report Darry had written for school. Darry wanted an opinion, and since Alice was at work at the bakery and Danny hated reading, Reeves agreed to the task. He was understanding some of it, barely, skimming around the big words. Darry was sitting on the couch deep in thought with his studies. Danny in the kitchen experimenting around with some flour and any ingrediants he could find.
When there was a knock on the door, Reeves sat up and looked at his two brothers. Darry hadn't even noticed, and Danny had his head in the pantry so Reeves guessed it was his go to get the door. He stood up and set the paper down on the slightly leaning broken down coffee table and sauntered to the door, he opened it and there stood Jade.
"Ey' Jade! C'mon in, we're just slumming around over here." At the mention of Jade Darry looked up and at his brother's remark he cracked a grin.
"Seth, You're the only one who's slumming and you know it." Darry greeted Jade with a wide smile, his blue eyes twinkling.
