"Who said anything about fair?" Drama asked, squealing as Golly grabbed her arm and flung the cream at her face. She was helpless to avoid it and only laughed harder when it hit her square in the eye. Wiping some of it away she looked around at his apartment, the food they were supposed to ahve eaten now littering Golly's floor. He released her arm and she stared down at it for a moment, wondering at the fact that she actually missed the contact. "Aw, it's not so bad," Drama said with a shrug, leaning over to wipe a piece of cream off of Golly's nose with her finger. "I'll help you clean up." She licked the cream off the finger and smiled at him.

Golly stopped laughing and smiled modestly. He watched her, thoroughly enjoying her company on all aspects. She was getting him to break out of his shell a little - earlier that day he would have scoffed at the idea of a food fight but here he was in the middle of one. She got him to loosen up and have fun He reached up with his thumb to return the favor and wipe some cream from Drama's cheek. "Lass, ya don't need to clean...it'll give the mice somethin' to chew on."

"How many mice you planning on feedin'?" Drama asked, motioning to the floor. "Unless you want to be living with a whole nest I suggest we at least try to...contain the pastry mess." She smiled at him, reaching over to remove some more cream from his face, this time a few fingers grazing across his cheek. Licking the cream off she kept her gaze steady on him, "Must be spring..." She murmured, leaning a bit closer, her eyes tracing the line of his mouth. "...you're smiling."

"Well it does get lonely 'round here..." he said reffering to the mice. His thoughts were arested when she started to clean his face once again. He watched her fingers rool over his cheek through the corner of his eye and just like at Caprice the hair on the back of his neck raised. She just had a way about her...
When she leaned toward him he leaned further back in his chair, his smile faded slightly and he let out an uncertain laugh. "Ahh its jus' a preview" He took a deep breath to calm himself a bit and added with a mumble, "but yer like a little ray of sunshine..."

"Me?" Drama asked softly, an amused look coming into her eyes. "I've been called a lot of things in my life, but a ray of sunshine has never been one." She shrugged still not moving away from him, for some reason she enjoyed the closeness, found it comforting. "But as I said before, anything that wins me that smile," She reached up a hand and touched a finger to his lips, keeping her gaze on his. After a few moments she drew back and moved away from him, slightly shaken by the connection she had felt. Needing to put some distance between them, she bent and began picking up a few of the pastries.

Drama's finger had managed to make the smile waver - he watched her hand, a little unsure, but excited at the same time. Drama was the closest human connect he'd have in years and though he was so unsure about the whole thing it nonetheless excited him. When she pulled away he licked his lips and wiped his clammy hands on his trousers. Golly frowned as she started to clean up the mess and left his seat to join her. "I told you not to clean up, lass" He said concentrating on the crumbs. "Yer company not a maid..." he trailed off figuring that she'd keep cleaning regardless of what he said. She did what she wanted.

She shrugged lightly, watching him out of the corner of her eye. "I helped make the mess, probably best I help you clean it up," She piled some of the crumbs in her hands and then stood up, dumping them on one of the empty plates and brushed the front of her skirt off. "You might not have me back otherwise..." Playing the material of her skirt between her hands, she turned her back on him. She hadn't felt this around a man since...a very long time. It unsettled her in a way.

Golly grabbed the last big chunks and swept the crumbs under a rug with his hand. He was like any other bachelor - a slob. He got a little smirk at her last comment, finding it slightly ridiculous but pleasing at the same time. It sounded like she wanted to come back at some point. "I don't like having' people around who have a tendency to start food fights" he joked and cleared the table. "Thanks, though, for bringing me some breakfast.." He smile a little then busied himself with the dishes.

"Just another impulse I'll have to learn to control," Drama sighed, in mock concern. She grabbed one of the plates off the table that he had missed and followed him, setting it on the counter and without thinking, picked up a towel and began drying the dishes as he rinsed them. "And your welcome, I know how bachelo's are. It's liable that you wouldn't have had a decent meal if I hadn't." She laughed a little and then lapsed into silence as they went through the process of cleaning up the dishes...it seemed almost natural. When they were done she wiped her hands on the towel and neatly hung it on a hook she saw.
"Golly? I...I have the day off and I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do. I thought I might go to Rockaway Beach or Coney Island and walk around," She smiled and ran a few fingers through her thick dark hair before continuing. "I didn't know what your plans were today, thought you might like to come along."

Golly's smiled widened when she joined him in the kitchen. "Aye, us bachelors are a helpless bunch.." he mused at he scrubbed a plate. When they finished up he drained the sink and unrolled his sleeves, not bothered by the silence.
He looked up when he heard his name and let her finished her suggestion, raising an eyebrow. He glanced at a clock, as if he had something to do, then met her eyes again. He tried to show indifference to the situation though he was absolutely ecstatic - emotions weren't really his 'thing.' "I'd love to, lass." He finally agreed. "Coney Island? I haven't been since I was a lad - other than patrol but that doesn't count..."

"Then you are one up on me," Drama said, unable to contain the smile that spread across her face at the acceptance of her offer. "I've never been, just thought this might be as good a day as any to check it out." Which was partly a lie...she wouldn't have gone anywhere near the place if Golly hadn't agreed to go with her. The fact of the matter was she craved his company and would have been disappointed if he had said no.

He gave her another quick smile, loving the way that it lit her up when he did, then fetched his cap and coat from the bedroomish area. " Might as well get goin' now - or else ya might start tidyin' up something else.." He pulled his hat on and grabbed the bag of carrots, stuffing them into his pockets. "We might see her..." he explained shrugging.

"Couldn't hurt. I'd love to see her, now that she and I are buddies," Drama said, nodding at the carrots. She pulled her own coat back on and then turned to look at him, stepping over to pull lightly on the brim of his hat. "I like the hat, McLean." She let her hand fall to his shoulder and she smiled up at him. "Shall we go?"

"Yeah buddies..." He muttered - dumb horse acted up around her and she'd probably do it again. He glanced at her hand, and with a little hesitation he grabbed it gently giving it a squeeze. "After you, lass" He opened the door for her.
