Buck laughed a little as they danced. He'd never really done something like this, considering the fact that he'd never met a girl to do this with. "Maybe..." He teased, body swaying to the silent music. "I think you know her, really beautiful... likes horses, likes to hang out with cowb..." Quickly he let go and turned, letting out a chain of heavy coughs. His right hand clutched his chest as his left hand covered his mouth. After the coughing he looked at his hand to see drops of red liquid. His breathing became heavy and he fell to his knees. "Oh god." He muttered.

Alarm immediately filled Jennifer's eyes as she hit the dirt on her knees next to him, her hand reaching out to grab his hand, turning it toward her. Breath leaving her in a sharp hiss, her thumb slid across his palm, smearing the drops. Licking her lips, she kept trying to say something, but failed every time. "C'mon." She said, voice shaky but growing stronger by the minute. "Doctor."

Buck tried to stand, but ended up still kneeling. "I'm... o... k..." He spoke though harsh breaths. After finally standing, and using all his willpower not to clutch his chest he spoke again, "It just came suddenly." He took as deep breath, as if it had taken everything he had to just say that small sentence. "I can't get sick, I need to work for..." another deep breath. "my family's sake." Buck breathed in and out sharp breaths; his right hand clutched in a tight fist while his left hand whipped sweat from his forehead. Suddenly the idea of a doctor didn't sound that bad.

Jennifer wrapped her arm around his waist, pulling his arm over her shoulders. She wasn't as strong as he was, not by a long shot, but she was going to support him. She was strong enough for that. "You sound pretty sick to me." She said gently, but firmly. "Come on. Its a doctor for you, Buck. You can send the money I make to your family while you're down."

Buck would have protested, fought her to the end, basically be his normal stubborn self, but he just couldn't. Relictantly he leaned on her and waited for her to start walking, so he could follow. He couldn't believe it was anything, it happened so suddenly, it'll probably end suddenly. Although, his sharp breathing told him otherwise.

Jennifer's eyes focussed on him and she nodded, starting to lead him off. She could do this. "Come on. Be the big, strong, cowboy I know you can be." She gave him a small smile, determination drilling her eyes.

Buck listened to her encouragement, stil holding onto her. He let a little pressure off of her because he was more able to hold himself up. "Yeah..." He breathed out. "I will, until the day I die." That had always been his response; 'a cowboy till the day I die.' He would say. But now, something about dieing seemed to mess with his head. His mind feared that may come sooner than he'd like.

"Which isn't going to be anytime soon." Jennifer nodded, resolute to the end as she led him off down the street. Doctors or Arias. Doctors or Arias. "You still have to take me riding, Buck." She smiled over at him, a real smile. There wasn't a single thing fake about it. "I won't let you go 'till you do."

Buck walked with her, trying to hide his weak self from the people they passed. A few heads turned to see his flushed face and weak walk, but they just ened up passing quickly. "I wont forget." He looked into her eyes. "We'll go riding." He spoke with much emphasis, and it was plain to see that he meant it, but in his eyes were a deeper feeling of fear; fear of what was happening to him. He had never felt like this, nor seen anyone like this. "How much farther?" He asked, which was quite out of character for him. He retained questions like that, not wanting to rush the person or sound annoying, but at the moment, he just really wanted to sit down. He leaned a little more onto Jennifer, but trying to keep it from being too much so he didn't hurt her.

Jennifer looked into his eyes, and took the fear out of her own. All he would see in her eyes was a trust and faith in him, and determination on her part. She didn't want him to see her own fear at this. She was a newsie, she sold the papers that sported the headlines. And this was a headline she wouldn't forget. She just....prayed, that he didn't have it. She...wouldn't know what to do. People died from that. But not him.
Squaring her shoulders, she wrapped her arm around his waist, taking more of his weight as she kissed his lips softly. She needed to do that before she lost the nerve running through her. "Not much." She murmurred. "Just hold on for me, okay?"

Buck looked into her eyes, and let out a small smile. She was so brave, strong... perfect. "You're amazing, thank you." He spoke quickly as breathing became sharper and heavier. He held tight to her, to keep from clutching his chest, which burned. Each step became harder, but he kept going. The look in her eyes gave him enough determination to get to where ever she was taking him. All she wanted to do was help him, and he wasn't going to just stop half way through.
