Built in 1898, the Third Avenue Bridge connects The Bronx to Manhattan.

Hawkeye sauntered along the bridge. Half way across she stopped and leaned on the rail, looking down at the water, not really thinking about anything in particular.

Rose walked towards the bridge noticing someone who seemed to be familiar. As she walked closer to the figure she realized who it was.
"Hiya, Hawkeye," said Rose with a smile.

"Huh?" Hawkeye tore her gaze from the water to look at Rose, "Hey," she greeted, "Whaddaya hear, whaddaya say?"
She turned so she was facing Rose, leaning back so her elbows rested on the railing.

Rose shrugged, "Just wanderin' 'round. How about ya? Hope I didn't interupt anything."
Rose let out a chuckle, having walked up to Hawkeye focusing on the water.

She shook her head, "Nah, I was jus' thinkin'." That wasn't completely flase--she had been thinking... about nothing, but thinking nonetheless.
"What made ya wander inta the Bronx?" she arched an eyebrow, smirking slightly. Hawkeye had technically "just wandered" into the Bronx as well, but was curious as to why Rose was there. She had always thought of Rose as being a bit more sensible than herself, and had never really connected randomly meandering about to having common sense.

Rose opened her mouth beginning to speak, but closed it nearly immediatly. She stood motionless for a moment, thinking to herself.
"Um, well..." Rose attempted to respond to Hawkeye, "I don't know, guess I jus' decided ta walk 'round."
"'eard the view was nice," added Rose, motioning to the water while a small grin appeared on her face.

Hawkeye shrugged, "'S not bad," she glanced over her shoulder at the river, "Ya can get a nice breeze on a hot day." She looked back at Rose, beginning to twist the end of one of her French braids, "I heard they mighta found the guy who killed Spike," she looked down at her feet and continued, "Supposedly this whole "war" is comin' to an end soon. I dunno who the person is, I guess it's supposed ta be a secret or somethin'," she shrugged again, "Maybe 's jus' another rumor. I ain't actually sure if anyone's even all that concerned 'bout it anymore. I mean, 'cept for the leaders, ya know?" She turned back to the water, leaning on the rail once more.

Rose nodded, "Suppose that could be a good thing." She turned her focus to the water, she wasn't too comfortable talkin' about the war. "I mean, that it's almost over."
Rose shook her head, "Though, can't say I'd forgive the guy who started all this." She thought to herself for a moment, then shook her head again. Then with a smile on her face she looked over to Hawkeye, "So how ya been?"

"I don't think anyone'll forgive 'im," she muttered, thinking of a certain gambling Italian in particular.
She raised an eyebrow, slightly throw off by the abrupt change of topic, "Well, sellin' ain't goin' too great, money's tight, an' I'm tryin' ta make a livin' by lyin' 'bout the news in the slums of New Yawk," she grinned, "But besides that, I ain't too bad. How 'bout you?"

Rose shrugged, "Ya know, 'bout as good as it gets in New Yawk. Sellin' right now isn't goin' too well, but I get by... hardly. What are ya doing out 'ere anyway?"

Hawkeye sighed, letting a soft breeze brush across her face, "I don't know. Guess we're in the same boat here--jus' wanderin' 'round with no where ta go, huh?"she paused for a moment, then added, "An' I haven't been to the Bronx in a while. I always liked comin' ta this bridge," she mused.

Rose rested her head in her hands, just watching everything go by. Suddenly she remembered a girl who Hawkeye and her had met.
"Hey," Rose looked up towards Hawkeye, "Have ya seen, er," Rose couldn't place her finger on the girls name. She thought for a moment, oh! "Flo? Have ya seen 'er around?"

"Huh?" it took Hawkeye a moment to recall the name, "Flo? ...No, I haven't. 'Aven't seen her since," she paused, thinking back a bit, "Bottle Alley, I think? Yeah, when that guy with the hedge clippers was chasin' 'er... an' us," she rolled her eyes, grinning slightly, "Whadda 'bout you? Ya seen 'er 'round? She said she worked some place 'round here," she shook her head, "Well, not here, like in the Bronx--here as in 'Hattan here. I remember, 'cause it was near the lodgin' house."

Rose shook her head, "No, 'aven't seen her since then either. I can't quite recall the name of the place where she works." Rose thought to herself for a moment, "I don't know if she ever told me." She shrugged, thinking back to when she had first met Flo at Central Park, though she didn't formally met her till Bottle Alley.
