"Oh and by the way if Jack's told ya anything about me. It's probably some how not true. Ise did kinda seek him out to get information seein' as my leader half the time can't be found. I wanted to know what was up." She sighed. "I truely meant nothing by it." She shook her head and turned to Slingshot. "hey" "oh and thinkin' brought me here"

David held back a grin. So he now had proof Jack was over reacting. He'd have to remember it when Jack boasted about his 'charming good looks.' It was always good to keep the Manhattan's Leader's ego in check, and he was usually the only one who wasn't laughing too hard to do it.
His light blue eyes flickered to SlingShot, remembering her from when he had been caught in the Brooklyn Library. He wasn't exactly fond of the girl, but it was best to leave the past in the past. This was neutral grounds, so she couldn't do anything to him. The Manhattan newsboy echoed Alley Cat's "hey," before turning back to her.
"How long have you been a newsie?" he asked, nodding his head when she gave her reason for being in the Bronx. Thinking had brought him into many places, some good, some bad.

"Ise been a newsie since i was 6." She was back to sitting down on the bridge where sh had been in the first place. Just thinking. Thinking about everything. There was nothing she could do to make things any better. She had to finds Spot for that and she had to be ready to actually talk against him to his face without fear or being thrown out of her home town.

SlingShot nodded at them when the greeted her. " Hey there Davey! Find any good books lately?", she asked with a smirk.

David rolled his eyes at SlingShot's antics, mentally wondering how he could be so patient. Though he was slightly perturbed that she would bring their previous encounter up, he decided it wasn't worth getting upset over. The Bronx were neutral grounds, and he would like to keep them like that. An argument wouldn't help things at all.
"Nice to see you again, too, SlingShot," he said, resisting the urge to roll his eyes. Though he had never gotten her name when they had spoke before, he had found out that she had been found wandering around Manhattan and thus found out her name. "No, Brooklyn has the only library around, and you know I can't go there again."

Alley looked at that two a bit confused for a moment. "So you've meet" That was all she could say. and she left it at that too. She went back to thinking. wondering if she'd ever figure out what was behind all of this.

David nodded to answer Alley Cat's question, or rather, statement, shifting his attention to the Brooklynite. He frowned slightly, seeing that she was lost in thought again. While he knew thinking was a good thing, he also knew it could stir up unwanted memories. Hopefully, she wasn't upset over something. His light blue eyes flashed with concern.
"Are you alright, Alley?" he asked, probably the third or fourth time he'd done so.

"Yes. I'm just thinking about well. The war or the lack there of it. And the fact that Spot doesn't seem to want us to know what's behind all this. It just doesn't seem right now even for him." She sighed. "He's way too stubborn sometimes but if he don't let up then there will be blood on some leaders hand. and it could get worse. I wish they'd just talk."

David nodded, understanding completely. Being Jack's best friend had benefits as well as its downsides. One of them being that it angered him so much when the Manhattan Leader made a stupid choice. As far as he had heard, however, it seemed like Jack, Prince, and Ace were planning to talk with Spot. They had pretty good proof the Delancey Brothers were somehow behind it. But would the stubborn Brooklynite listen to reason?
"I know, I've tried to get Jack to settle this peacefully--Wait, you don't know what caused the war?" he asked, surprised. The Manhattan newsboy was pretty sure everyone knew about Spike's death.

"No i know what caused the war. I just don't understand why. I mean it could have been talked out peacefully after Spot cooled down it bit. I mean, but i suppose any leader would do what he did if they found one of the newsies dead on the streets in another territory. I just don't get why he jumped so far as to blame Jack for it. I guess i just don't understand guys reasoning." She sighed standing up and turning her back looking down at the water. "I hate fightin, and i hate not being able to walk even in my own territory without fear of being put through the third degree" The comment should have sounded strange for a Brooklyn newsie to say.

"Well, Spot was probably angry right off the bat. And when Jack wasn't able to tell him how Spike died..." David trailed off, shaking his head sadly. Thoughts of war always depressed him. "They've both got egos the size of New York, probably bigger than Pulitzer's. It's turned into more of a matter of pride and will power than actually trying to find Spike's killer. I don't see why they just don't join up and try to find Spike's killer. It's like the strike all over again; we need support. If we turn on each other, we're doomed."
The Manhattan newsboy sighed, running a hand through his curly brown hair. Talking about war was becoming way too common among the newsies. He wished they could stop the war. More than one newsie was tired of the pointless war. The Leaders were growing tired of it too. Once again, it was just a matter of who would break first. He supposed the Bronx did, and he almost wished he could belong to the neutral territory at such times, though he doubted it was easier for them.

Alley looked at David and nodded. "We are all doomed. If only..." Her voice trailed off. "If only i could find my leader. He's hard to find these days. But hashing it out with him would probably get me thrown out of Brooklyn. Though i'm not scared of it not now anyways." She sighed. "It's what the Delancey's want or the person who did it. They want us to break apart we less of a menace then."

David nodded, glad there was someone else in the world that thought about the war deeper rather than just calling Brooklyn idiots and what not. While he believed the Delanceys had something to do with it--Blink wouldn't lie about such things--he had a feeling they weren't acting on impulse. Sure, the newsies annoyed them, but to go so far as to kill one? Especially a Brooklyn newsboy who was hardly around to tease them? The Jacobs boy thought somebody was planning this. The Delanceys weren't smart enough to know the Leaders would turn on each other, thus breaking the newsies apart. He kept the theory to himself, since he didn't have an idea of who would want to tear the newsies apart. Pulitzer, sure, but he seemed content to let the newsies do what they wished as long as it didn't hurt him financially. Shrugging, he turned his gaze to the water, noticing the sunset that was currently reflected there.
"I better get going, and you guys probably should, too. Manhattan isn't as tough as Brooklyn, but it still isn't the safest place to wander the streets at night," he said. "It was nice meeting you, Alley Cat, and good to see you again, SlingShot. I might see you guys around sometime, hopefully when the war's over."

Alley nodded. "Nice to meet you too David." She still stood there staring at the water. She had no plans of going back to Brooklyn just yet. She'd take her chances in Manhattan. Though She'd probably go into the Bronx she just wasn't sure what she wanted yet.

SlingShot paused, not wanting Dave to leave.
"Listen, Davey. You know I was just kiddin' right? I really do like ya. And, I let you leave Brooklyn safely didn't I? So what's your problem with me?", she asked, not entirely sure that there WAS a problem.
But she wanted to be friends with Davey. Heck, as soon as the war was over, she planned on going over to Manhatten and getting to know Jack better.
