Whatever he saw in her face made him nod. ".....Okay." He said softly. No, he didn't give up, but he left her alone. When she got sick, she could admit it to herself. He returned to his chair and sat in it, rubbing at his face with one hand.

Hawkeye threw her arms in the air, "See? See? There you go again! Being all nice. You nice jerk. I think you do it on--" she paused, another cough taking over, "purpose." She took another sip of water, wishing there was something she could do to stop coughing.

"Oi..." Rose mumbled under her breath. She continued to stare at him, seeing some form of caring in his eye, "What is it that ya want me ta do?"
She swallowed, it wasn't that she didn't want to admit to him.. she didn't want to admit it to herself.

"Take it easy." He said softly. "Start fighting it now...Before you get sick." He said 'get' sick, to play on her own game. Her rules.
He looked over at Hawk and managed another soft smile. "Soah. I do it on purpose." It felt normal at least to have her arguing and yelling at him. Or well, doing this. It felt semi-normal.

"Which I won't, but if it'll make ya happy I won't go out and do my normal routine," Rose said much to her dismay, "But I ain't confining myself to this lodgin' house."
She smirked, "If it'll make ya feel bettah you're welcome ta follow me when I go out. Make sure I'm 'takin' it easy'." Which didn't really mean much, because taking it easy to her meant not to get beat up.

He chuckled, as if reading her mind, and knowing exactly what 'takin it easy' meant. He might...Knowing him. "Your takin it easy is like me sayin I'm not going ta hit da Delanceys. Doesn't come easily, now does it." he grinned a bit.

Hawkeye eyed Rose, "Yeah, yeah, rub it in, why don't ya?" She sighed and leaned back against her pillow, "How long's this gonna last, d'you think?" her mind kept jumping back to the thought of being stuck in the lodging house for the rest of eternity.

Rose's jaw dropped, "Okay foist of all, I didn't do nothin' wrong. She's the one who kicked my ass, if I recall correctly," she scowled, "And second of all, I'd gladly give that part of my life up, sick or not. Which I'm not."
Rose shivered and looked around for a blanket, "It's winter. It's cold."

Blink slid out of his jacket - it was better than a blanket - and tossed it to her. "Yeah, okay. Whatever you want to believe, Rose. " He looked over at Hawk and sighed. "Not too long. You'll be up and knockin heads around befoah ya know it. In the mean time." He pulled a deck of cards from his pocket. "Game?" His eyebrow rose.

Hawkeye nodded, but apparently the nod gave her body the okay to send her into one of those beloved coughing fits. She leaned back and rested her head against the wall behind her bunk, cringing at the lovely pain that bolted through her due to the cough. She slowly let out a breath and nodded once more to Blink, "Sure."

Rose slipped into his jacket and smiled at him, "Thanks."
She fiddled with a bracelet she was wearing, I'm not sick, I'm not getting sick nor will I be sick, she thought to herself. Before she knew it the bracelet she had been fiddling with snapped and fell to the floor, "Damn," she muttered.

Handing the deck of cards to Hawk with a request to shuffle - considering he was incapable of doing that - he leaned over and picked the bracelet up off the floor, turning it over in his hands, seeing if he could fix it.

Hawkeye took the cards and begin shuffling them, watching Blink look over the bracelet. She arched an eyebrow, "Where'd you get that, Rose? Been saving up money or what?" She paused, coughing into her sleeve quickly before returning to shuffling.

Rose smiled as she watched him pick up her bracelet, "You don't... I mean..." That was her way of saying thanks.
She shook her head at Hawkeye, "I don't know, I've had it for as long as I can remember."
She put a hand over her mouth, afraid that the cough was going to come all the way up this time. Rose held her breath for a moment, in attempt to make it.. disappear.

Blink grinned, attention caught as he tried to fix the bracelet. After a moment he held it up. "Aha!" Reaching out, and pretending he didn't notice what she was doing, he attached the bracelet around her wrist again. "There."
