She smiled up at him and grinned a bit, "Let's let them wait a spell, I don't want to listen to Trevor rave just yet.." She bit her lip and then nodded, her eyes focusing on his. "Thank you, chere. I'm glad I met you." She chuckled a bit nervously, brushing her hair behind her red ears. It was freezing but it didn't matter to much at the moment. "Really, really glad.."

He nodded to her and smiled as he held her close. "I'm glad I met you too," he said quietly stroking her hair from the back. "You feel cold hon... wanna go in side? Get you out of the cold air?"

She clamped her teeth down and chuckled when she realized how cold she really was, she looked back at the lodging house then conted herself to rest her head on his shoulder. He was warm, really warm. She closed her eyes a bit and sighed, "In a minute if that's okay..."

He nodded and held her close to keep her warm as well. "That's alright with me," he said with a soft smile. He was comfortable and happy just holding her close and keeping each other warm. The wind picked up around them and blew freezing air at them.

She smiled a bit and closed her eyes, this was one of those moments you dream about. Well, one of those moments that girls dreamed about sometimes. The one to have someone hold you who really cares. She was glad he wouldn't let her brothers make her go home. Her teeth chattered a bit and she laughed. "Oh, back home it's not nearly this cold.."

"Welcome to New York babe. Up north, and near the ocean... it gets pleanty cold around here," he reassured her. "You're gonna need a thicker coat," he said with a wink to her. "Or a personal heater you can take with ya anywhere, but... I don't think they make those. So... what's say we get you inside... any inside so long as it's warm."

She laughed and nodded, "Alright you win. We wilt back where I'm from..it gets so hot sometimes all you can do is sit in the grass in the shade and fan yourself.." she chuckled a bit and tried to bring that warmth. "You're clothes get all sticky and see threw.." she smiled up at him. "Well I guess that isn't the best way to describe home but sweltering works too.." She stuck her hands in his coat to try to get them warm. "Where's warm?"

"Inside here is warm... the cafe down the street is warm. You hungry? Ummm... Central Park is warm...ER!" he said chuckling. "There's lots of places warm around here."

Her stomach growled and she winced, "Heh, haven't eaten since yesterday.. umm.. well.. I dunno.." she was fishing around in his coat until she found a warm spot for her hands and she grinned at him. "What do you think..?"

"I think food is a definate need right now, let's go get a table at Tibby's, we'll get some food, how does that sound?" he asked her with a broad smile. "Gonna be albe to keep your hands warm while we walk?"

She laughed a bit and then went a few shades of red, tugging her hands out of his coat. "I suppose I can manage.. " she said folding her arms across her chest, trying to keep them warm. She gave him a grin. "Okay, let's go to Tibby's.."

Blink walked down to sit on the steps. He'd hail a cab. In a minute. "Rose, what's going on with you?" He asked, eyebrow raising as he looked at her. "What was all that up there?"

Rose took a seat next to him and let out a sigh, "Jist haven't been myself lately. Got a lot of things runnin' through my head, ya know?" She wanted to tell him everything, especially why she was so stubborn about the whole 'people helping her' thing, but she wasn't sure he needed that right now.
She turned her head to face him, "I didn't mean ta upset you. Sorry."

"Its all right." Blink sighed, shrugging a bit. "What are friends foah aftah all? Just hope you'll tell me bout it one day. Who knows, I've been known to help out a few times." He grinned, ruffling her hair. "Cheer up, Rose. You and Hawk'll be fine in no time, and then you two can get Race and Mush and bug me all you want." He got up to hail that cab down. "Might cheer you up."

Rose laughed, "Now how would buggin' ya cheer me up?"
She smiled and gently pulled on his arm to sit him back down, "Don't go thinkin' it's you, alright?" She didn't want him to think he was the reason she was stubborn, "I guess after..." Rose sighed, thinking back to the few memories of her childhood, "Anyway, I felt like I could only rely on myself to survive in this world. Wasn't going ta let people give up their lives for me," again, she wanted to add.
Rose looked down at the stairs, probably sounding like some 'drama obsessed' girl. She began to regret ever mentioning anything about it.
