With the impressive houses, the people that live around here have got to have some change for a pape!

Smokes walked along the streets of Queens making her way back to the Bronx. She was receiving strange looks from the people passing by. The clothes she were wearing showed she wasn't from the nice neighborhood she was walking through. She noticed how hoity the people around here looked, with their noses in the air and their nice bicycles and what not. She decided since she was there she might as well get some work done.
She moved behind one of the buildings. She cleaned up some of the make-up on her face, making it seem more natural. She took her hat off and fluffed her hair hat off. Taking her cigarette out her mouth, she tucked it into the pocket of her coat, and pulled down her coat collar. She buttoned up her coat to hide her clothes. Lastly, she took the band from around her wrist and tide her hair up with it. She didn't look at wealthy as some of the others on the streets, but she certainly did fit it.
Smokes came from behind the building, standing up a little taller instead of her normal slouch. She scanned the crowd and found the perfect victim. An older lady that looked to be in her mid 30's strolled casually along the street, walking right toward Smokes. Despite the comfortably warm weather, she wore a large back coat with a leopard skin collar and cuffs. Her gloves were leather and she worse a very three large diamond rings on each hand.
Smokes noticed the ring on her pinky seemed to be slipping off. She started walking toward the lady, purposely looking out around her as if she didn't notice the woman in front of her. The two collided and fell to the ground. Smokes put on her the most sincere face she could muster.
"Excuse me, Miss. My apologies."
She helped the woman to her feet with one hand holding hers while the other inconspicuously slid into the woman's pocket. She quickly grabbed the first thing she felt and tucked it into her own pocket.
"Quite alright, child," the woman responded.
Smokes slid her hand away from the woman's, taking the ring with her. The gloves her so thick, Smokes doubted the woman would even know Smokes had her hand. Smokes smiled sweetly, curtsying, before she walked off. The woman stood there for a moment before brushing herself off. She must've noticed her missing ring because her eyes showed full alert as she searched around for Smokes who was no longer in sight.
When she was far enough away smokes sat on a nearby bench. She opened her hand and saw a red diamond held in a golden ring. She'd never seen anything like it before and was a little mesmerized by the sight. She tucked it tightly into her pants pocket before taking the item she had stolen from the lady's pocket out of hers. It was a small change purse. Smokes opened it revealing there was very few change in the purse, but a wad of rolled up bills. Smokes eyes widened. Who had she stolen from, some kind of queen? She didn't take the money out, but just put it back in her pocket. She was still dressed as a wealthy young lady. Anyone who walked by would assume it belonged to her, though she didn't see anyone.
She sat thinking about how much she had on her. The ring alone could probably get her across the country. She smiled to herself. Looks like I haven't lost my touch. She stood and continued toward the Bronx.

Giselle strolled up towards the girl. She had seen what had happened, but wasnt really phased. She assumed that muh of what the girl had was stolen... the rings, especially. She slid her bags to the side that wasn't facing Smokes, then approached the girl. "I noticed you are quite skilled in the art of.. euh.. borrowing, arent you?" She asked, a slight smile playing on her lips. "You dont mind if I walk with you some, do you?" She asked, trying to hide her accent some.

Smokes turned to Giselle. She turned her nose up and looked her up and down. She didn't mean to be snotty, she was just on a...misson, for lack of a better word.
"Actually, I'm busy. I need to go a couple places."

Giselle just shrugged. "Fine," She said, turning to leave. She didnt need to talk to the girl, and the girl clearly had no interest in talking to her, so she just turned to walk away.

Peem had been making his way back from the market with some groceries for dinner when he spied Smokes...and wasn't quite sure what she was doing.
It didn't look good, but he didn't jump to any conclusions.
"Hey..." He walked up next to her, shifting his groceries a bit.

Smokes watched Giselle as she turned and walked the other way. She was sliding her hands into her coat pockets when Peem walked up next to her. She half smiled. "How you doin'?"

Peem pulled out a baguette of bread and bapped her with it. "Just getting groceries for mum and all." He leaned forward and kissed her cheek. "How are you?"

She smiled at the warmness of his kiss. "Never better. I'm just on my way to go get your friend a gift for his party."

He raised an eyebrow. "Everything sorted out with your friends?" he slipped an arm around her waist, pulling her closer as he talked in a lower tone. "You safe now?"

Smokes squinted her eyes a little. "Not quiet." She smiled, hopefully. "But I'm getting there.
She frowned and looked at the ground, shamefully. "I wont be able to make it to the party, though."

Peem sighed and pulled Smokes off to the side a bit, putting the grocieries down. "What's going on?" He paused and shrugged. "I won't pry...if you cant or wont tell, I accept that...I just want to know if I can help."
He cared about her, and he could tell she wasn't telling the whole truth.

Smoked cracked a half smile, lifting her hand and placing it on his cheek. She shook her head. "There's nothin' you can do. This is somethin' I need to figure out on my own."
She hated keeping what she was doing a secret from him, but it was for his own good...and hers.

Peem sighed and shook his head, smirking a bit. "Ach...ye could lie to me, and I suppose I'd just say..ce la ve."
He kissed her forehead gently, giving her a hug. "I guess I should leave you be then...just try and come back to us soon." He gave her one of his carefee smiles. "I ain't going no where."

Smokes smiled, greatfully. "Thanks and I will." With that she was on her way again.
