New Day
Frenchie flounced down the street, her skirts swishing as she walked. It was a nice day, and she was in a particularly happy mood. This, of course, seemed to her like a perfectly good reason to twirl about like loon. Unfortunately for her, she twirled right into the side of a building.
Rubbing her nose furiously, she pushed herself away from the wall and continued down the street, her footsteps lacking the bounce they had moments ago. She was a tad more focused on the nose matter now.

Clarence was out, just for some fresh air. He liked to people watch as well. He noticed a girl, bounding down the street, not really paying attention to where she was going. She ran smack dab into the side of building but kept going. That was a bit...strange.
Clarence decided to catch up to her and make sure she was ok. "Umm, 'scuse me Miss, but are you, umm, okay?"

Frenchie turned and looked up, "Hmm? Oh, yes. See, sometimes I'm just walking along, in my own little world and then I just forget what I'm doing and something like that happens," she motioned to the wall she had bumped into, "Happens when I talk too, you know? I'll be talking about one thing and thinking of another--that's a lot harder than you'd think, mind you--and then you..." she paused, looking confused, "What was I just saying? I was thinking about Greenland. Did I mention Greenland? Oh, no, talking, that's what I was talking about. Talking about talking, fancy that, "she laughed, her voice squeaking as she did so.
Obviously, she was not the person one would turn to for an intelligent conversation.

Clarence just nodded as she rambled on. "I...uhh...see." He smiled. "About your nose, let's talk about your nose. You seemed to have hit it awful bad, are you ok?" It didn't look broken and she had said it was ok, but he realized that she may not have even known what she had been talking about. Clarence spoke slow, like he would to a child.

Frenchie, not quite catching onto what he was implying, said, "Whatsa matter with your voice? You didn't sound all funny last time you said something," she waved her hand around, "And I'm fine, I already told you," she began to walk away from him, saying, "Perfectly fin--" This time, she didn't run into a wall; she tripped over the curb.
Recovering quickly from her fall, she clambered to her feet, "Still fine!" she declared, "Absolutely fine."

Clarence had reached for her when she tripped, but hadn't been able to grab her. She may have been physically fine, but mentally, she was a wreck. "Miss, have you had anything to drink lately." Her speech wasn't slurred, but she sure was walking around like one.

Frenchie shook her head, "No." Though it was completely understandable to assume she was under the influence of alcohol, she wasn't. She was just alarmingly simple-minded, was all. Not that she was aware of this; to her, everyone else just had very quick working minds. She bounced a few steps further before turning around and asking, "Who are you anyway?"

Clarence smiled. The girl may be a complete ditz (sp?), but she seemed good natured. He wasn't in uniform today, it was his day off. "The name's Officer Carter, who might you be?" he walked to catch up with her once again.

Had she been smart or known better, she probably wouldn't have given her name to cop, but, alas, this didn't cross her mind as she answered, "Lucille Rousseau, but everyone calls me Frenchie," this wasn't saying much, as she barely knew anyone in New York, "Are you really an officer?" she asked, "You don't look much like one, you know. I've seen officers around and you don't happen to look like one."

"That's because I'm not in unifrom today Frenchie. Here, see this says I'm an Officer." He pulled a small badge out of his back pocket and showed it to her. Clarence always had it on him, just in case.

*~*New Day*~*
Dove walked on the streets near the shore and stared out at the ocean. She loved the ocean, the smell, the feel of freedom. She sighed. She hadn't been here long and she hadn't seen her friends for a long while.

(New Day)
Lucky folded her arms and was wearing her hair loose around her shoulders, trying to keep her ears warm. Still looking for Sneaks, she'd been very tempted to drop in on the Racs headquarters, but she'd instantly dismissed the idea. If anything that would have been a stupid idea. So, she just grumbled a bit.

Sneaks sneaked up on Lucky, wrapping his arms around her waist, kissing her neck. "Mmm...looking for me, love?"

She smiled a bit, instantly a bit brighter. She looked over her shoulder and held his arms, "Yes.. that's exactly what I was doing..." the light faded a bit as she looked at him. "Things are getting really, really bad.."

Sneaks raised an eyebrow. "What are you talking about hun? Something go wrong with you?" He ran a hand over her face. "Tell Nicholi what's wrong.." He never felt good with her feeling so.
