((new day)) Gabbi had just gotten her round of papes and had perused the headlines before heading out to Lorimer Street. She sighed, mildly hungover, and then perked up with some false enthusiasm and began shouting. "Large Brooklyn bank robbed!" She shouted."Robbers were armed and havnt been caught by police!" She yelled.

Trigger walked down the street with Lanna at his side. "So, where did ya come from Lanna? I mean...where were ya before you were...here?" He didn't know how to word the question.

Alanna laughed as she looked up at the sky, "Louisiana, cher. I come from the bayou, lived near the banks of the river for awhile. It was nice, I miss it." She looked at him sideways with a grin. "What about you? Where do you come from?"

He nodded lightly then smirked at her last question. He chuckled then looked down at her. "I've been in New York my whole life, maybe that's why the cold doesn't bother me much." He looked ahead so he didn't run into anyone. "So, how did you get the french part of your accent?" he asked, not knowing much about Louisiana.

She chuckled a bit, her eyes sparkling. A real live New Yorker. It made her smile.
"Creole," she said with a chuckle, spunning around someone who decided to walk right between them. "My maman is french, my papa is a cotton farmer." Her eyes glittered differently when she mentioned her father, but it changed almost instantly. "I was raised speaking French.."

He nodded. "Wow, I'm impressed. I have only heard it a few times but it's a really beautiful language." he hadn't been watching where he was going and ran into a man walking his way. The man stopped and looked at Trigger. "Hey kid! Watch where you are going!" Trigger glared at him and kept walking. "It's as much my fault as it is yers mister! You coulda moved away as well!" He then looked back at Lanna as if nothing happened.

Lanna just laughed, she'd found a friend, and he was fun to be with. Her eyes turned to the man and she said something not at all polite in her native tongue before she continued down the path. Her eyes sparkled, blue as they were.
"I'm glad you like it, I like hearing others speak. New york is full of so many different people, I like them," she laughed as they went. "So many kinds, cultures, expressions. Mon Dieu It's so much, but so much fun."

He watched her as he said something to the man. The man just stalked off, no idea what she had said. Trigger chuckled. "You're awesome!" He then listened to her talk. "Yea, New York is rarely boring, you'll learn that fast." He face then because serious as he thought of something. "Are you a raconteur?"

Lanna looked at him, confusion etched in her face. "A what?" she hadn't heard the term before. Her brow furrowed she tried to figure out if that was the way people in New York insulted one another, "What does that mean, cher ?"

Trigger sighed, glad that she wasn't. "I'm sorry, I hope I didn't sound rude. The Raconteurs are like...theives, and they are trying to take over the newsies in a sense, get others to join them, some of them by force." He paused and looked at Alanna. "They're dangerous, please stay away from them, do everything in your power to." His eyes and voice showed real concern.

Alanna looked at him, confused for a moment before she shrugged, "Don't worry about that, cher sounds like some nasty business I want no part of." Her blue eyes clouded a bit as she watched him, tilting her head to the side she decided it was far to serious, so she grinned. "Besides, I'm only, kind of a newsie." Her eyes sparkled when she spoke.

Trigger couldn't help but lighten his mood as she grinned. "Alright, works for me." He nudged her shoulder playfully then tore his eyes away from her so he wouldn't run into anyone. He felt the cool breeze touch his face and took a deep breath, enjoying it. He loved fall. "So, did I ask ya where you were stayin'?"

Alanna laughed, "No, but since that seemed to be askin, I'm staying in the Bronx for now." she waved at a little boy clinging to his mother as she continued on her way. She pulled her coat closer as she watched the leaves, changing colors. It was different here then back home. In the south, it seemed almost like there were two seasons. Hot and hotter. "You live here in Brooklyn?" her eyebrow perked up a bit as she avoided a collision with a man holding a cane. She giggled, she was starting to love New York.
