He nodded. He liked the Bronx, it was a nice play. "Yea, I'm staying in Brooklyn, I help Spot a lot." He then realized that she might not know who he was. "Spot is da Brooklyn leader." He shrugged. "I love Brooklyn, always have. It's a great place." He looked back at her and smiled. "How are ya likin' New York so far? How long 'ave ya been here?"

Lanna bit her lip a bit before she spoke, taking a breath she steamed forward. "I like New York a lot acually, I've only been here a few weeks." Her eyes shifted a bit and she grinned. "I'm just running away from home, like everyone else that comes here."

He smirked. "Wow," he respected her for it, she must be tuff. "If ya don't mind me askin', why did ya run away?" He was being polite, wanting to make sure he didn't offend her.

Alanna's eyes fell a bit but she shrugged.".. well.. it's a bit.. complicated.." Se couldnt' say it. She shrugged again, letting out a sigh. She had only even told Moira bits and pieces of the trouble back home. It was to hard to talk about really. She didnt' know anyone who'd be sold by people who loved them.
"Can we.. not.. talk about it?" she asked, her eyebrows quirked as she peered at him.

He nodded and gave her a soft smile. "Of course, I'm sorry if I offended you." He looked ahead once more and moved around another couple of people. "So Lanna, what would like to talk about?"

she laughed a bit, he was cute, that was for sure. "Well, I'm not particular, chere. and you didn't offend me. It's just, hard, to talk about. See, my Papa, he had some trouble, borrowed money he couldn't pay back. I'm, the only girl you see.." her voice trailed off as her face furrowed into a soft scowl, a scowl looked strange on her face. "Papa made a deal to get out of debt, but, I didn't like being part of the bargain.. so.. I'm here.."
She looked at him, not many people would understand her father's position. She didn't blame her father, she felt bad for him and her whole family at this point. Without her, she wasn't sure what they had to offer up to get out of debt now.

Trigger almost asked her to go on, he was curious but was more concerned for her feeling. He nodded. "Well, If it makes any difference at all, I'm glad that you're here." He smiled softly, looking back at her. He noticed the sky get darker and looked up to see dark clouds beginning to cover the sun, it looked like it might rain.
"So, other then hot, what kind of weather are you used to?"

Lanna chuckled, "Mostly hot, an a lot of rain. Though, I love the rain." She was happy to be off the other topic, she'd rather not talk about that anyway. "Warm summer rains,cher. There is nothing quiet like it.."

He smiled at the thought. "It sounds great! At least the rain won't be too weird for ya den." he remembered something, an upcoming event, but he hesitated to say anything. He rubbed the back of his neck. "Have ya heard about the Halloween Masquerade?"

Alanna looked at him, her eyes sparkling, "Well yes, my friend and I are going. At least, I'm sure we're going," she laughed as she looked up at the clouds. "Why do you ask?" she glanced at him out of the corner of her eye.

she chuckled as she watched him. "I am pretty sure Moira found a date," she said honestly as they walked, revealing it had been a girl she'd been going with. "I can fly solo, I suppose." She let out a laugh as she dodged a group of girl's walking and chattering. "But, it's sure to be fun in any case."

Alanna stopped in her tracks and watched him a moment. It wasn't that she was sizing him up or anything, she was trying to figure out in her head why he'd want to go with her at all. After a moment she gave him one of her killer smiles and nodded. "Oui, I'd love to go with you. My Maman always said it was far better to dance with someone then to dance alone."

Trigger was surprised when she stopped and he stopped as well, feeling suddenly nervous. He wondered what she was thinking, maybe that she couldn't believe she got asked by someone as dumb as him. But her smile was amazing and she said yes. "Really?! I mean...great! But I hope that that wasn't the only reason you agreed to it." Refering to her dancing alone. He smiled teasingly.
