He nodded. "An older man. And just in general." He took the money from his pocket and put it on the table.

Isabela took the dime from the table and placed it in her pocket. She shuffled the cards a little more before she started looking through the deck. She pulled out the king of clubs. "For this reading, this card is giong to represent the man you were talking about. It's just for this reading remember that," she said as she placed it in the center of the table. After a little more shuffling she started to lay the cards down. As she did she said. "Now I'm going to try and interperate these cards the best way I can, but you may have to apply them to the person, for I don't know who you're talking about. You may have to do a little reading yourself, but I"ll tell you what the cards mean, don't worry." She laid down a row of three directly above the King of Clubs. She then lay one card off to the right half way down the first row. The second row she sat down just below the first, with the middle card covering the King of Clubs. Then she placed another card off to the right under the other, half way down from the middle of the second row. To finish it she laid down one more row of three under the middle row. She sat the remaining cards off to the side. "Now I will give some suggestions on what the cards mean, though I may not be right they are just suggestions, so keep that in mind. With set-up complete she could now begin.
Her first card was the card in the upper left hand corner. "This card opposed your friend in the past," she said before she turned the card over to show them the ace of spades. "This means power. So at some point in their past they were strongly opposed by the power of someone else. Or perpahs their own power was their downfall, causing them some troubled times."
"The next card affected this person in the past. So, it could be either a good or a bad thing," she said nodding. She turned over the nine of spades and said, "this card means arrogance. Now the positive side of that is someone else's arrogance got them into trouble, and he benefited from it. But opposing him would be his own arrogance getting him into a tight situation. He was full of himself, and it's possible he still may be."
She then came to the last card in the first row. "This card assisted him in the past, so it was a good thing." She turned the card over to show the four of hearts. "This means inspiration. Possibly for a good idea that he benefited from, or is still benefitting from. Some idea that he got to improve his life.
The next card was the card off to the right, half way between the first and second rows. "This is the transition between the past and present." The card was the seven of clubs. "This card means dissappointment. He may have been dissappointed in someone else, or maybe something didn't turn out the way he wanted, and was dissappointed by this. Then again, maybe he disappointed someone else by not living up to their expectations," she offered. After all, this was just her attemtpting to interperate someone she knew nothing about.
Her next card was the first one in the middle row, to the far left. "This card is against him at the current time," she explained as she turned over the ace of hearts. "This card means love. Now, this could be opposing him because he maybe lost someone he loved. Or maybe there are two who love eachother who are getting in his way and keeping him from getting what he wants." She thought she was doing a pretty definate reading so far. But she wondered what kind of person would have love opposing them.
She then came to the card that was in the middle of the middle line, covering the King of Clubs. "This card is affecting them at the current time," she said. She turned the six of spades face up on the table. "This card means mediocrity, being mediocre, normal, like everyone else. Now this may be how ther person... appears, or maybe they're manipulating those that are just medicore," she said trying to figure out how that worked. But it sounded fair and passable to her, so she moved onto the next card.
"This card," she said pointing to the card in the right side of the middle row, "is assisting this person at the current time," she said. The card was the King of Diamonds, and she laid it on the table. "This represents two things. One, it could be a man of great material wealth that is helping him out right now. It could also mean contentment. It may be his own, or maybe he is making others content," she said nodding slightly as she explained the card. "Either way, it's assisting him."
Now she could move onto the card that was half way between the middle and last row. "This represents the transition between the present and the future," she said. She turned the card over revealing the Jack of hearts. "This could mean two things. One, it could mean a young man of strong emotions is about to add himself into his life. It could also mean jealousy. Either others could be jealous of him, or perhaps he would be jelous of others," she suggested.
She moved onto the last row, the bottom left corner. "This card will oppose them in the future," she said. She turned over the three of hearts. "This card means opportunity. He may be presented with an opportunity, but when wont' take it and will regret it. Then again, he may take an opportunity and regret it as well. Either way his future will be affected in a negative manner becuase of an opportunity he is offered."
"This next card," she said poiting to the card in the middle of the row, will affect the man in the future, in either a positive or negative way." She turned the card over to show the eight of diamonds. "This means fear. It maybe someone else's fear of him that benefits him, and allows him to emerge victorious. Then again, someone else's fear of him may chase them away and he mayt never see them again. His own fear may be his downfall, if he should choose not to over come it," she suggested.
Last was the card in the lower right hand corner. "This card will assist this person in the future," she explained as she turned over the final card. "The Jack of Clubs can also mean two things. One, it could mean a young man of great mental capcasity that could help him in the future. "But, it could also mean shame. Probably someone else's shame because it is a helpful thing to him."
She looked over the reading, to make sure she had caught it all then she looked up at him. "Any questions?"

Coop shook his head still looking down at the cards. He looked up at her, taking out ten more cents.
"What about the other one?"
He wasn't sure if se had already mentioned it.

"Right, the situation reading," she said nodding. "Now, what does this situation revolve around? Is it based on emotions, material possesions, power, or something else?" the last one being a general situation. That was her only question for this one.

Isabela started searching through her deck to find the Jack of Spades, which would be used to represent coop in this case. she laid it face up on the table as she picked up the dime. "Alright, this card is going to represent you for this reading," she said as she pointed to the jack of Spades. "Now I'm going to try and interperate what these cards will mean for your future, but in some cases I may be more correct than others." She continued to shuffle the cards. The second she was satisfyed she stopped and sat the deck down on the table. This is how the card reading began.
First she picked up one card and in turning it of she placed it on top of the Jack of Spades. This card was the 3 of hearts. "This card is showing us the general atmosphere of it situation, and the 3 of hearts means Opportunity. My guess is that it will be a great opportunity for you to accomplish something, but whether the out come of this opportunity would be good or bad, I'm not sure."
"The next card will show you the forces that are opposing you, be them forces of good, or evil." She took an other card from the deck, and laid it across the 3 of hearts making a sort of plus sign. The card she sat down was the Jack of Hearts. "This card can mean one of two things. For one it could mean a man of strong emotions will try to get in your way, and possibly mess with your plans. But it could also mean Jealousy, the jealousy of someone else having something that you do not, or perhaps they are jelous of you and will try to take it from you and keep you from reaching your goal." She suggested.
She then moved onto the 3rd card.as she said, "This card crowns you, and it shows what you are hoping for an outcome, whether or not you realize that you want it," she said with a mysterious smile. She took the top card from the deck and laid it above the three cards already on the table, showing them the 2 of diamonds. "This card represents loyalty. Perhaps you are hoping to gain someone's loyalty, and keep them on your side. Also, it's very possible that by doing this you are trying to prove your loyalty to someone else, maybe even to yourself."
After she finished this explanation she moved onto the 4th card. "This card is beneath you. As in, it is the foundation, something that you have already experienced that is relative to this situation." She picked up another card from the deck and placed it beneath the the first three cards face up to show the five of spades. "It represents Competition. It may be between you and someone else who is attempting to accomplish the same goal, it might even be with yourself, but the competativeness of the situation you have already seen," she reminded him.
The 5th card was next as she moved to pick it up from the deck she said, "This next card indicates what's behind you, a passing influence, or one that's already passed," she explained. She picked up the card and set it to the left of the others face up, to show the 2 of clubs. "The simplicity card in this case means that from now on things might be a little more complicated than previously, and might take a bit more efford than other occurances have." She looked over the reaading so far, and so far it looked okay to her.
She moved onto the 6th card in the deck. "This one is before you, coming up in the future." She picked the card up from the pack and set it down to the right of the other cards she had already laid down. "This card," the five of hearts, "means apathy, or lazyness. It may be your own, but for some reason I doubt it. If anything it will be someone else's. And you may want to encourage them to get moving, or whatever their too lazy to do may never get done.
She then took four cards and laid them to the right of all the other cards starting with the bottom and going up to the top. She started with the card on the bottom. "This card is your attitude about the situation," she said as she turned the card over revealing the four of clubs. "It means Responsibility. I assume that you feel it is your responsibility, so that's why you're doing it," she said nodding a little. It made good sense to her anyway.
She then did the card just above that. "is the environment and the people that may be affected," she explained as she turned the ten of hearts face up. "This could mean two things. It could mean a young woman. She may get involved some how, and could be deeply affected by this. As for the other side, it could also mean isolation. You may be isolated from others if you continue with this, or maybe it will be both at once. You'll be isolated from the girl, perhaps," she suggested.
There were still two cards left, so she was at the 9th card. "This card is your hopes and fears for the situation." She turned over the three of clubs just above the ten of hearts. "So, comperhension... maybe you're uncertain of this, or you're afraid that you'll have second thoughts of following through at the last minute," she suggested. Now there was only one card left.
"This last card is the outcome of the situation, how it will all turn out in the end," she explained. She turned the card over and gasped. If this card had been anywhere else she woulndn't have worried, or thought much of it. It was the black trump card, "the death card," she said. "Now... this... may not necissarily mean death, it could just mean an ending to major part in your life..." but still... she found it just too strange that it should be that. But she was trying her hardest to be optomistic and smile.
"So... do you have any questions?" she asked with her normal smile on her face as though nothing were wrong at all.

(New Day)
Eleanor waited for a moment before entering the gypsy's tent; she was understandably hesitant. Having never encountered gypsies at any point in her life, she wasn't sure what to do.

Isabela heard someone come in the door and poked her head out of the back. "Well hell there," she wondered who this was. New face, and a bit old to be a newsie... then again, who knows. "Can I be of assistance ma'am?" she asked still in her thick Spanish accent that seemed to never fade or go away.

"...Hello. Yes, I was just wondering...I heard you tell fortunes?" Eleanor wasn't just here to see if the 'famous' Isabela Maria was genuine; she was here because she had always had an interest in anything veiled in mystery, and her future was certainly such a thing.

"Yes, that I do ma'am," she said nodding with a smile to her. "I assume you're here for that," she said with her usual sweet and genuine smile. "Well, why else would you come? There isn't much else here I can do." She moved towards the table. "Have a seat if you wish. But, if you'd like me to tell your future I'll have to ask you a few questions first."

Eleanor nodded and took a seat. "Alright." She rested her hands in her lap, and allowed a small smile to creep onto her face.

Isabela smiled back at her. "Now what kind of reading would you like? I can do a focused reading about your life, a reading about you and another person, or about a current situation, or up coming event," she said giving her the three options for card readings that she specialized in.

"...Um, a focused reading." Eleanor was still a little wary of this; but doubted she would be for much longer. If it turned out to be true...

"Okay, that's not to hard then," she said as she started to shuffle her cards. "Just one more question. Do you want to focus on love, power, material posessions, or an over all life reading?" she asked. This truely was the final question before she began.

"Overall, I suppose." Eleanor was calmly waiting, her hands resting in her lap. Maybe this fortunetelling thing had more than a little truth to it.
