He gave Cheater a small half smile, charmed by her reaction. "Thanks little mermaid" he said in reference to her real name, "I chose it, jus' doesn't make meetin' friends all dat easy, but enemys, heh, "He sipped at his new drink, "I got more of them than a gulls got feathers!" Oh the analogies caused by ethanol. He rested his weight on his elbow. "An' cops...yeah mostof us are complete ..." He chose a choice word to show his disdain follwed by a shake of his head.

She laughed at what he called her. "I suppose a police officer does make a lot of enemys, but some friends are better than none at all."
Cheater ordered another glass of water and half a sandwich, paying the waitress and smiling at her.

Race looked at Golly disgusted. "You're a cop!?" he shouted loudly, a little because of anger a lot because of whiskey. He pushed his glass back to the man, pulling his arms back quickly as if being near him was more than he could bare. "Whatdya want then, huh?" he spat, moving to stand but quickly deciding sitting was best.

Golly's smile at Cheater snapped into surprise when Race shouted. The boy finally exploded into the reaction he was pretty much expecting from both of them. He just frowned back and pulled the badge off the table and to his back. He hiccuped in the middle of his stare, which seemed to add absurdity to the situation. "Anthony, "he started quietly, straining to keep his voice down, "I don't want nothin'. I aint gettin' no one in trouble - i woulda done that already, kid!" He voice had raised to a shout at the end of the sentence, he didnt notice. "So jus' calm down!" He drank the rest of his drink scowling at the table. "I ain't eveeen workintaday" he slurred his words followed by more hiccups.

Ohhhh boy...
Now, Cheater had a low tolerance for drunk people (even if they hardly seemed like it), and she vaugely remembered Fancy when she had gotte drunk and they had gotten mad at each other.
"Okay, I think you guys've had enough to drink..." she said quickly, grabbing the glasses from them, no matter if they were full or not.

"It's RACETRACK!" he shouted at him, furious that he had just been called Anthony by a cop. "An' if you aint heah ta get us in trouble, den how did ya know my real name, huh?" he asked accusingly, not remembering the conversation 5 min. earlier.

He raised an' eyebrow at Cheater, irritated. "Lassie..."Golly grabbed one of the glasses and pulled out of Cheater's grip back towards him. It was empty which didn't matter, it was a control thing. And thats when Race yelled. Golly shook his head and stood up. He placed his arms on the table and leaned his weight forward on them. "Fine, RACE. TRACK." He spit slightly as he spoke. "Obviously ya don't re member ya told me yer name! An' I don't really care what it is cause da last thing I'm worried about on my beat is a bunch of newsies!" He sat back down, scowling once again.

"Oh f((-cough-))." Cheater said, grabbing the glass from Golly and slamming it down on the table behind her.
"Youse two are so irritatin'! Ise havin' ah hard time tellin' which is woise, you, or 'im!" She said, pointing from Golly to Race, her usual way of speaking had vanished, which happened only when she was in a REALLY bad mood, which is something she was in at the moment, mostly because Racetrack and Golly had been getting along fine until she had revealed that the older man was a cop... so technically this could be her fault.
"So youse two can jus' SHUT UP! Argh... yer so annoyin'..." and Cheater carried, on, calling them any name she could think of, or make up.

Golly sank slightly in his chair. It was sad how this little girl, this teenager was yelling at him and making him feel rather sheepish. The glass was far to out of reach now so he gave up on it, instead staring at Cheater. With each name she called him his eyes widened a bit more, surprised at the words falling from her lips.
"Ya got a pretty dirty mouth mermaid" He said in a mumbled slur.

Cheater continued, pausing only to smile and nod. After a long string of words that could fill paragraphs, she smirked at Golly. "That's only part of it." She said, leaning back in her chair, and restraining herself from laughing at the look on his face.

Race gave a disgusted glance to Cheater, not liking to hear girls talk in such a way. Turning back to Golly he seemed confused for a moment, then grinned, slapping a hand on the table. "How 'bout anothah round?"

"Amazing, the boy has mood swings!" She exclaimed, staring at Racetrack who had gone from angry, to disgusted, to grinning in no time at all. It was truly a miracle.

Golly's mouth parted slightly and he stared back at Race dumbfounded. His eyes bounced up to Cheater looking for an answer. "Well if you ain't a confusin' one..." He mumbled shaking his head at Racetrack. He did however like Race's suggestion, that was just what he was thinking. With the amount of alcohol already consumed he felt like drinking more would do no wrong, and he was able to brush off the conflicts and quarrels just moments before. Its what one was granted if they were a cheery drunk.
Golly got up from the table flashing his index finger to Race indicating to "wait one moment" and ruffling Cheater's hair. He ignored the empty tumblers on the adjacent table Cheater had removed and instead made a wobbly beeline to the little bar where the waitress was tallying up bills. He braced himself on the counter and demanded a few pints.

Jackle walked into the cafe and looked a Golly at the counter. He knew the guy was drunk already and he hoped he was a happy drunk and would let him partake in what he was about to ask. "Hey man might i partake in those few pints. I'll pay ya some for 'em" He knew he shouldn't drink cause he knew what happened when he got drunk but he didn't care he wanted too. What a certain person didn't know wouldn't hurt her right.

[New Day]
David walked down the street, hands shoved deep into the pockets of his trousers, shivering slightly. While it could never be totally cold during the summer, it was windy and the clouds were covering the sun. It was enough to make him cold underneath his light jacket. He mentally cursed himself for not putting anything warmer on; but it had been a nice day to begin with, the weather had just turned foul after he had finished selling. That, at least, he was thankful for.
A relieved smile came upon his face as he saw the cafe. A cup of coffee would warm him up enough. He entered the cafe, quickly ordering his coffee and playing a few shiny pennies on the counter as the steaming cup was handed to him. Even though it scalded his tongue, he took a sip immediately, sitting down at one of the tables and relaxing slightly, glad for the warmth of the hot beverage. Now considerably warmer, he relaxed, watching the events of the cafe with mild curiosity.
