Lukas looked away as he was lectured - he was scared of the bigger newsie and knew he had no control over the situation. Though he didn't seem them he could feel Flick's eyes burning into him. Lukas beat himself mentally - another move that burned bridges with other newsies, he was aware he got carried away a lot. He didn't bother struggling to get his arms free, but kept them stiff enough to where he might be able to react and hopefully block a blow if one was to come. He glanced over at Sweets, blank faced, internally hating her for ever talking to him.
"I wasn't gonna hit her..." he repeated again, barely audable followed by mumbles in German.

Flick put him down and then smiled. He couldn't help it the situation was actually quite funny. "Hey sorry kid. I have my reasons foh hatin' people foh hittin' goils, women, what eveh ya wanna call dat gendeh. I may have over reacted a bit, but I think I've got my point across," Flick spit in his hand and held it out, "I don't think we've met officially. Names Flick."

Lukas retracted his arms and quickly wrapped them around himself taking a step back. He was relived to be free but twisted his face up into a semi-glare not amused with the massive mood swing. He looked at Flick's hand for a moment then looked back at his face purposly not extending his own hand. "Lukas." He said keeping his hands firmly tucked on his ribs. He let out a snort "an' yeah, ya did ovahreact, Flick" He over annunciated his name.

Flick put down his arms and his smile disappeared, "Ya know I used ta be like ya but I grew up ya shoud to. And watch where ya step. Ya might step on a shoe to big to handle and I won't come runnin' ta help." Flick was pissed now and he glared at Lukas.

Lukas glared back. "I nevah axed for ya help, an' I ain't a kid so I can take care of meself jus' fine. Don't talk like ya know whats best for me eithah, ya don't know me!" It sounded like the comeback of a ten year old and he knew it, instantly feeling stupid. He never was very good with words, or fighting, really he didnt have much going for him except for a big attitude. To redeem himself he dropped his arms and stood in a more defensive stance. "Looks like ya nevah stopped growin' up, Goliath" He flicked his head towards the sky and let out a stiff chuckle. He knew he shouldnt be insulting him - Flick already proved how much stronger he was but then again Lukas never knew when to stop.

"Hey." A new voice stopped any fighting before it could occur, "What, are we gonna resort to fighting each other now?" Ace stepped up, and he looked mad. "Flick, Lukas, calm down. Now. And Sweets? Get outta heah and get back to hattan. You know as well as i do dat i aint gonna hit any goils. But Spot might."

Flick was about to beat Lukas to a pulp. He was pushing him to far, but he heard Ace and stopped mid-step. "Yeah and I'll soak 'im. Ya know Ace this war is just gonna brew more bad feelin' between da boroughs. And what are we gonna do when dis war is over? We're just destroyin' friendships," Flick didn’t care if they thought he was a traitor. He never said something he didn't believe and was sure was true.

Thanks to Ace Lukas knew he wasn't going to be beat so he flashed Flick a smugg smile. He took a few steps back so Ace was a sheild inbetween him and Flick. He disregarded Ace's anger - he'd rather deal with Ace's mood than Flick's fist. "There 'e goes again knowin' everythin'..."Lukas said under his breath. Saddly he know Flick was right but still thought the guy was lacking any loyalty to the Bronx

"Well, at least I don't talk my mouth off like youse do. I know when ta shut up," Flick shut up right there when he say Ace's face. "I don't hide behind people eitheh," Flick said very quietly.

"I give you credit for learning when to shut up, and i give him credit for standing up." Ace looked between the two of them, "I dont like any of my boys hiding behind others...but, Flick..." He shook his head and sighed. This was going to be the death of him.

She had stayed quiet through it all, watching it unfold. Her head snapped to Ace as he approached and she thought she might be sick. However, when he asked his to simply leave, she couldn't help but cock her head at him slightly. Taking one last look at everyone, she nodded and grinned, feeling more relieved than she could ever remember feeling before. "Well, see ya latah fellas."

Ace gave her a stern look. He couldn't be expected to be so civil next time. He was a good guy, and usually very lax as far as leaders go, but even he had to stand up and take charge every once and a while. And he made sure his eyes told her that. "Go." He said with a hint of anger in his voice.

She nodded her head quickly, staring at the ground as she swiftly vanished into the crowd.

Lukas watched her go, glaring at her back. He blamed her for this whole incident, never able to see him own guilt. He looked back at Flick then Ace and opened his big mouth once more, not caring if they thought he mouthed off too much. "I ain't hidin'! I'se jus' keepin' my distance from you!" He could not stand being thought of as a coward and just as before he stood erect again putting on the thoughest face he could, hands on his folded over his narrow chest.

Ace turned to him, eyebrow raised. "What did i just say? We are NOT going to fight amongst ourselves." He nearly hissed it, "Am i understood?"
THe Bronx was not going to break apart. Not if he could help it.
