"Yeah," she said with a smile, letting out a breath and brushing her sleeve across her forehead, her coat caught the sweat. She couldn't stop smiling. It wasn't in her nature to be that way as it was. She was sunny for the most part, but she could handle herself. "Of course! He works for Medda.." With a beaming smile she turned and started heading down the street once more.
"Come on Reid!" she tossed her curls over her shoulder and grinned at him. She'd traveled for a long time with a guy calling himself Boxcar. He'd been a former Brooklynite really. He'd kept her safe on the rails but now that they were back home they'd parted ways for awhile. She wanted to have some fun. "We're on a forty year old mission!"

Reid raised an eyebrow but followed closely behind her. "Did you know he worked for Medda or did the man tell you?" He was curious as to how everything connected. She was from New York so she obviously knew who Medda was. It was an unbelievable coincidence that she had run into a man during her travels that knew of Medda as well. Then again Medda was worldly so he figured she must have traveled quite a bit.
At her words a laugh escaped him and when he heard the sound an astonished look crossed his face. He couldn't remember the last time he had laughed and it made him frown at the thought. "Yes we are," He said seriously, his thoughts on the fact that hours ago he had seen his brothers coffin put in the ground and now here he was acting as though nothing had happened. And yet it felt good to get his mind off of things. He'd felt as though he were trapped in this world where he didn't notice a thing from the moment Perry went missing and now, well now he was finally noticing things again.

The smile that crossed her face was fast and she shrugged, "Well see he said that the guy came from Manahttan New York, and I said I knew Manhattan well enough and we got talking about all the sites here and he asked me if I knew where Irving Hall was. He wanted me to bring the soldier there, because his friend had told him that if anyone knew were the find the guy Medda would know. So I got into town, asked around and come to find out the guy works in the back for Medda. Crazy right?"
When he grew serious her smile faded a little bit and she reached up and rubbed his forehead gently, trying to get the serious look off of his face, "Are you okay Reid?" She looked so concerned about him, and she'd just met him.

As he listened to her story he nodded slightly it made sense. The world was a lot smaller than one might think upon first glance. "It definately is crazy." He nodded again and glanced to the side running his hand through his hair again. "Well at least you get to visit your old friends while your in town." He knew that if the oppurtunity presented itself he would want to visit his friends from Jersey City.
When she reached out and touched him he blanched slightly, "Fine..." He didn't want to talk about Perry with her. He didn't want to see her pity at his situation. He was enjoying this moment to much to ruin it with is his pain. He could go home tonight and mourn but right now he wanted to force himself to get his mind off of it.

"I honestly don't know how long I'm going to be in town, I get itchy feet and have to change places. But I've been gone so long, the more things change the more they stay the same. Last time I was here Dodger was still in Manhattan and Ace was over the Bronx.." she shook her head, curls bouncing.
When he blanched and told her not to ask she reached down and took his hand in hers, locking their fingers as if they were old childhood friends out to play in the park. But, it was different. "Things are never as bad as they seem.. come on, lets go and make an old man cry over his dad's toy soldier.." Welcome to her world, the brighter side. She'd lost both of her parents to death and yet she didn't mourn. They were watching over her still, and happy for her that she found magic and adventure in the every day. People like her were few and far between really.

Reid shrugged a bit at her words, "Never met Ace...Dodgers been in charge as long as I've been here." He was honestly thankful for Dodger. He knew his sister cared for him deeply and he was glad she had someone to rely on in these tough times.
A laugh bubbled forth once more and Reid shook his head slightly, "That sounds like a good idea." He needed something like this to take his thoughts off of his own pain. Although it was completely odd that she had come into his life on thsi day he was beyond glad that she had. For some reason she could do something that no one else had been able to manage and that was to crack a bit of the shell surrounding the person he was and bring his true personality out.

Her laugh was as bright as she was and she let it come forth, still hanging onto his hand. Almost as if she was trying to anchor him in some way. Rori wasn't a stupid person, she was bubbly yes but far from stupid. He was in a lot of pain and she wanted to bring some kind of happiness to him while she could. "Ace, he was a lot of fun to be around. He and Lucky were thick as thieves. A lot of things changed from what I heard when I got into town.." she looked over at him and grinned as she continued on.
"You know, it's kind of funny that I just met you and I feel like I've known you my whole life." Then again she was always talking to someone, always making a friend somewhere but this was very different.

"Lucky?" He spoke the name quietly and shook his head as he realized where the girl was from. "The Brooklyn girl?" He bit his lip thinking momentarily of the stories he'd heard from his brother before he pushed the thoughts away. "Hard to think of her as a Bronx girl." He laughed quietly at the thought and tucked his hands into his pockets.
When she said she felt as though she'd known him her whole life he dipped his head in slight embarrassment because he felt the same way. He glanced up at her and a ghost of a smile crossed his lips. "Funny, it does seem that way..."

She set her finger to her lips and shook her head with a grin before she laughed, "Lucky? No way, she and Ace grew up together. It's amazing how small the world is, I haven't seen that crazy Brooklynite in a good long time." Her hand dropped from her lips and she clasped them both behind her back, watching him when he bent his head.
Rori was bent down to see his face and the ghost of a smile that touched his lips, made hers bloom. "Heh, well you should tell me about you Mr. Reid... I only know that you are possibly one of my favorite people. And that's saying a lot.."

Reid quirked an eyebrow, "Guess it is." He was still fairly new to New York and he didn't know much about it's past except for the highlights. It was interesting to find out this tough Brooklyn girl had once been a Bronx lady.
"Not much to tell...don't know how I could be anyone's favorite person." A shy smile crossed his lips as he spoke. He was honestly taken aback by her words he'd had no idea how he could possibly be anyones favorite person, especially in the state he was in. Maybe she just liked taking care of people she thought needed it. Or maybe she understood him without him having to explain himself. He could already tell she had more to offer than what met the eye.

She walked and then looked at him when he said that so shyly it tugged on her heart strings, well, she grinned at him. "I like you laugh... very much. Sounds like you don't use it often enough though. I'll have to fix that now won't I?" giving him a wink she kept walking and grabbed his hand to cross the street and take another one of her running short cuts, there was no telling if the distance was actually shorter but the way she ran, made it go by a lot quicker.
She laughed when she ran, curls waving in the wind as she turned a corner and pulled to a stop, laughing to herself as she tossed her hair. "Oh boy... that's so much fun!"

He smiled at her statement and she let her keep the pace, running when she did and walking when she did as well. He was extremely grateful he'd been sitting on the porch when he had been today. This girl..she was an adventure to say the least and he was enjoying every moment of it. Maybe that was because he wanted to immerse himself in something new and exciting or maybe it was because this girls attitude was intoxicating.
When she stopped abruptly he stopped as well and let out a short breath. "It was..." He was sad to admit that he wasn't familiar with where they were. "So...how far away are we?"

She let go of his hand and moved over to a fence, using one of the random crates as a vault to see over the fence and gauge where they were. "Hmm looks like we're about two blocks from Meddas.." she looked over at him and grinned even as the crate tipped and she let out a yelp, moving quickly to put both of her feet on the fence brace so she didn't hit the ground. She let out a breath and laughed. "That was close, cripes..." she looked around again and nodded.
"Yeah I'd say we've got about two blocks or so to go in that direction.." she leaned on the fence and pointed, laughing a bit as she blew one of her wild curls from her face. Still clinging to the fence.

Reid shook his head at her antics and quickly scrambled up the fence. "You certainly know a lot of shortcuts." He smirked slightly before jumping down off of the fence and looking up at her questioningly. He wasn't sure if she needed help and he didn't want to offend her by assuming that he did.
"So why'd you leave? Just wanted to see new places or something?" He was quiet as he asked her his questions. He didn't like to pry into other peoples lives but he was curious about her.

He was down and she sighed, using her leg to swing over before she gave him a wordless nod before jumping onto him and hoping he caught her instead of letting her fall or worse. But she was grinning when she looked up at him.
"Heh, well my brother's left to seek their fortunes out west. And when my dad passed away there wasn't much really keeping me here so i went looking for them. It took me awhile but I tracked them down..." she grinned and stepped away from him, running a hand threw her hair. "I met all kinds of people from all over the place, you get to do a lot of listening to folks and you learn a lot.."
