Reid caught her easily and set her on the ground as she spoke. It sounded like she'd lived a pretty interesting life. He'd love to pick up and leave at a moments notice to travel across the country never knowing where you were gonna end up. "Seems like a nice way to live life..."
Tucking his hands back in his pockets he started walking again. "So how many places have you seen?" He was curious as to where she had been and the things she'd seen in her travels.

She had to think about it as they started walking, hell she'd been all over the counter. "El Paso," she said with a nod as she thought about it. "Umm... Chicago, Baton Rouge... San Francisco, Colorado City.." She could name of cities by the load but she shrugged and laughed. "The world is wide but not so much really.... what about you? You weren't around when I left and my brother's used the Bronx as their stomping ground.."

Reid was impressed, he'd never really been anywhere. "Used to live in Jersey City. Moved here awhile back." He shrugged lightly, not really interested in talking about himself. He had a feeling that if he talked about himself too much the conversation might turn to his family and that was the last thing he wanted to talk about or think about right now. "Which city was your favorite?"

She tapped her chin as she tried to think about it, which city was her favorite. "You know, I don't think I could tell you. Save this one.." she had to grin. "Yep, I don't think that there is any place in the whole wide WORLD like New York City... what about you? Do you like it here?"

Reid's lips tightened for just a moment before he relaxed and shrugged. "I suppose both have their merits." In Jersey City, he'd almost lost his sister but in New York he had lost his brother. If it wasn't for the fact that he knew his sister needed him he'd be on his way back to Jersey City at this moment. He felt no attachment to this city but he didn't want to get into that.

She frowned just a little bit and touched his chin for a moment, getting him to look at her instead of getting lost in his head. "Hey now.." she said with a soft smile. "You know, New York is the place of new starts... it's why so many people come here. For a new start..." she wanted to hear what had him so down, what hurt this man so badly. And she wanted to hear it. But she knew he wouldn't tell her just bet. She offered him that smile that could light up the world before she looked around. "I think we're close.."
To the man's house, to drop off the figurine. She had been distracted by Reid, but she didn't forget her goal. He was.. well Reid was her secondary goal. She wanted to see him smile more. He seemed like he couldn't.

Reid gave a bitter chuckle at her words, "Yeah I've heard that before." That was why they'd come to New York in the first place and for awhile it hadn't been that bad. Now though Reid couldn't remember the last time he'd been at ease in this damned city. He wished his sister would consider leaving but he knew better than to even broach that topic with her. At her words he glanced around realizing they were indeed close.
Crossing his arms he have her a slight nod. He wasn't sure why he'd even bothered to come but it had helped get his mind off of things even if it was just for a little while. He had to admit that the girl had a way about herself that could make you forget about your troubles and get wrapped up in her stories.

Because that was who Aurora was, she was a story teller. Bubbly, full of energy and of life. She had so many things that she wanted to share with him but this was one of the few. She wanted to get this figurine ot it's owner and tell of it's travels. Of how it had seen death and stared it in the face. And how it came back.
After a moment Rori looked over at Reid before she held her hand out to him. Almost daring him to take it and be liberated. Be with her for a moment in time and forget it all. They were surrounded by harsh realities but.. she liked him.

Reid stared at her hand for a moment, not sure what to do before he gave a slight shrug and took her hand. It had been a long time since he'd held a hand that didn't belong to one of his siblings. He stared at their intertwined fingers for a moment before looking up at her once more.
"Do you think he'll be happy to see his figurine?" Reid figured he would but he wanted to keep the conversation going and stear it away from himself.

She really wasn't sure, buts he kept her fingers locked with his as she thought about it. Walking quietly to the place where she'd been asked to go. "I don't know, I hope they're happy to see it. It came a long way and saw a lot of things just to get back home. Everything has a story.. sometimes it's sad and other times it's full of laughter and light.. this little thing.. I hope from now on it has happy things to look on.."
She wished the same for Reid, he seemed so desperate for something. To avoid other things she didn't feel like she could let his hand go in good conscience. He was sad and hurting, she wasn't a fool. She could see it clear as day but she wasn't about to prod him anymore than that.

Reid nodded slowly, "You're right and I'm sure whether it reminds him of something sad or happy he'll be glad to have it back." He was thinking about his brothers belongings, if anything ever got lost and then found its way back to him years later he would be more than happy to see it.
He absently kicked a rock and tucked his free hand into his pocket. He wanted to forget about the days events but his thoughts kept pulling him back to the moment of the burial and he couldn't close his eyes against the memories like he wished he could. Reid was just glad that Rori had shown up when she had because she was helping him more than he even realized.

((I'm going to skip the banter over the figurine XD I'm tired and don't wanna)
Once they finished with the old man she seemed brighter than before, the figure had been welcomed by the man and his family. He'd even cried to know that it was returned to him and the story that it had to tell. Aurora had told it with grandeur, using her hands to tell the story of it's travels and it was nearing dark when they left the house.
"Are you, heading back to the lodging house now Reid?"

Reid stood silent as Aurora told the story of the figurine. As they left he gave the man and his family a small smile and a nod before heading out. He sighed and tucked his hands into his pockets. "Yeah, you?"

She shrugged, "I don't know.." she had to laugh at her own unpreparedness. "I wasn't even thinking about it. What I would do after, I just kind of wanted to spend some more time with you is all.." Oh she knew she could do more, maybe even go and dance in the fountain in central park (again), but she wanted to spend time with Reid. She liked how he smiled.

Reid couldn't help the smile that crossed his face at her words, "I was thinking the same thing." It seemed like this girl was the one thing that could keep his mind on things besides his family and he was enjoying it immensely. "What would you like to do?"
