Perry shook his head, "I never wet the bed. Ever!" He didn't know that for sure of course, but he figured if he had then Reid would have teased him about it. "What do you do besides sell papes? Anything? There doesn't seem like there's that much to do around here. I did see a park though, that looks neat."

Dewey laughed amusedly "Yeah?" he stated, unconviced "well I t'ink ya oughta ask ya bruddah about dat, just ta be shoah. But, whethah ya wet da bed or not ya wore diapahs didn't ya? Well believe it or not dose are twice as bad as a wet bed" he finished, chuckling "Anyway, I don' got much time between sellin' papes 'cause a lotta times I sell da mornin' edition an' da evenin edition. Hell, sometimes I even sell da aftahnoon edition if it was a slow mornin', but when I do get free time I usually jus' walk aroun', talk ta people, Sometimes I go ta da park or da beach, not much really. Foah a kid like you though dere's plenty a' places ta go ''specially if ya got a little extra dough an' ya don' mind a long walk" he paused for a moment, thinking " Lets see... dere's coney Island if ya don' mind goin' inta brooklyn territory, dey got an amusement park dere an' a racetrack. On da topic a' racetracks dere's a ton ' dem all ovah, I don' t'ink ya old enough ta bet though. An' uddah den da park heah dey plenty a parks in uddah boroughs, dis city's jus' lousy wit' 'em. Dere's a few uddah beaches an' deres plenty a' store's, plus dere's some newsies about your age you could play wit', though I ain't sure dat any a' dem are heah. An'...well dat's about all I can t'ink of right now but i'm shoah dere's more" he finished somewhat awkwardly. (Sorry It's so long )

Perry became sidetracked the moment he said amusement park, he had never been to one but it sounded like fun. "What do they have at Coney Island? And why would I mind going into Brooklyn? If they have a place like that, it must be a great place to go, right? I think so. I'll have to ask my sister to take me. That just sounds like so much fun." He may not have experienced Coney Island yet, but his imagination was running wild. He could see a place a bunch of lights and candy and different rides. He hoped the place had ponies, he had always wanted to ride a pony. His sister had said that they were too dangerous and he couldn't ride one, but he was older now. Maybe she'd change her mind and let him go if other kids were doing it. (don't worry about, the longer the better )

"Well, dey got all kinds a' stuff at Coney Island. Dey got a carosel, a ferris wheel, a whole bunch a' games, jus' all kinds a' stuff, It's a great place, 'specially for a kid" said Dewey smiling "But..." he continued jabbing his finger for emphasis "ya' don' evah wanna go alone, It's dangerous in Brooklyn"

Perry's curiousity got the best of him and he started to ramble again, "Why is it dangerous in Brooklyn? Are there lots of bad guys? Do a lot of people die there? Can you go out at night? It should be a nice place with a place like Coney Island. That place just sounds so great." Perry wasn't sure what could be so bad about Brooklyn that Dewey would tell him to not go there alone, although his sister told him to never go anywhere alone. "Lexi told me I can't go anywhere by myself anyway, not unless I wanna get hurt. So is Brooklyn worse then where we live? It must be, huh? Are lots of people scared to go there?"

"It's dangerous in brooklyn, cause dere are a lotta tough people dere, not ta mention It's Spot Conlon's territory,he ain't someone ya evah wanna cross if ya catch my drift" explained Dewey gravely "An' I dfinately don' suggest dat ya go out at night dere at least as long as ya still from a different borough. A lot a' people dere might be more likely ta take dere frustrations wit' anuddah borough out on one person whethah dey desoive it or not if ya know what I mean. An', yeah, foah dose reasons a lotta people are scared ta go dere." he finished, leaning back in the hammock that he was on.

Perry listened to him, completely rivoted by the story of Brooklyn being dangerous. He found stuff like that more interesting than anything else. "Who's Spot Conlon?" He was picturing a barbaric type man yielding a bloody sword ready to strike down any person that got in his way or didn't belong there.

"Spot Conlon's da leadah a' da Brooklyn newsies, he's an okay guy but he don' take too kindly ta people his newsies or his territory" warned Dewey, a very serious look on his face.

Perry felt incredibly confused, "But why is he so scary? And why doesn't he like newsies in his territory? Doesn't he want to make friends? Everyone needs friends." Perry smiled innocently, "I love making new friends. It's so much fun!" He started to swing the hammock back and forth again.

Dewey chuckled, amused by perry's innocence "As foah da whole friend t'ing, I really don' know, kid, I guess he already has all da friends dat he wants. Da territory t'ing, on da othah hand, dat I do undahstand. Ya see newsies from different boroughs don' always get along, a lotta times dey do but when dey don't an' somethin' happens it's hardah ta sort it out 'cause both da leadahs gotta sort it out togathah an' a lotta times dere ways of dealin' wit' t'ings don' exactly mesh well an' it can cause even moah problems." he finished hoping that Perry would either understand or at least pretend to.

"What are you lads getting on about?" Dodger came into the sleeping area looking disheveled. "Talkin about us, smart generous and all around brilliant leaders, Dewey?"

Dodger glanced over at Perry and flipped his hat off of his head, the master of hat tricks was the Bronx leader and he bowed low. "The Artful Dodger, at your service mate. I'm the leader of this here fine borough. And you are?" He lifted his brow as he placed his hat back on his head giving Dewey half noogie with his hand. Dodge liked the kids, if he didn't he would have quit being a leader and probably ended up in the institution of higher learning.

Perry laughed when he did the hat trick, his eyes lighting up. "That's so neat." Perry instantly felt amazed by his leader. "I'm Perry, nice to meet you. Can you show me how to do that? It'd be great! I could show my sister and she'll love it!"

Dodger grinned brightly and wiggled his brows before flipping his hat back onto his head and running his fingers along the brim, "I might, lad, I might." He loved praise, it was like food for Dodger to be looked at with awe. A far cry from how his mother saw him. "It's grand to meet you, Perry. Welcome to the Bronx lodging house-- any question you may have I'm sure any one of us can answer.."
