Sarah lowered her head, a weird look on her face. She couldn't imagine what it would be like to lose either of her parents or anyone in her family for that matter. Family was very important to Sarah and she loved them dearly. She nodded, not really having anything in her life happen to compare to his story. Sure, things in her life got bad, but they always got better in the end. "I'm sorry," she said softly, "about you parents, you know."

>>>NEW DAY<<<
Dutchy wasn't a great artist. Fair, at best. But well enough, he hoped, to show people the drawings of his friends and attempt to find them. Tate Potter, Shiner, Nike, Pup and Milo. More were missing, he knew, and Nike tho he'd never met her, he still drew her, based off Styx's appearance and description.
Stopping a lady on the street, Dutchy asked if she had seen them and told him how several children had suddenly gone missing. She gave him a sympathetic look, but shook her head. She bought a paper and gave him a nickle, letting him keep the change. Dutchy decided to put whatever charity he gained aside for the missing. They might need it if they ever did return. He hoped where ever they were, that they were together at least.
Pocketing the money, Dutchy continued down the street, yelling his headline.

((New Day))
Drifter smiled and took in a deep breath, it was quiet here he kinda liked it. Placing his almost finished cigarette back between his lips he took the last drag and flicked it over the side of the boardwalk. Placing his hands in the pocket of his pants and continued on his stroll, letting out little smoke rings as he went till there was nothing left to make the tiny rings. Taking one hand out of his pocket he looked down at the watch he held, he had nicked it off a guy a few days back, it wasn't that late. Shrugging he replaced the watch and walked over to the rail, leaning against it he let his mind just wander.
The reason he had come to Manhattan in the first place was to see Piper. He hadn't been able to get out of the Bronx for the passed couple days and he wondered how she was doing, and hoped that she hadn't been taken. He was sure she hadn't, she was a tough girl she could handle herself, and that's what he liked about her. Smirking a bit at the thought of Piper, he brought his hand up he grabbed the cigarette he held behind his ear and fixed his bowler hat. Sticking the cancer stick between his lips, Drifter searched his pockets for his last match. Taking the tiny wooden stick out, he struck it against the rail and took a few puffs of his cigarette to get it going.

Piper walked down the boardwalk with her red hair down and flowing in the wind. She was sporting the new shiner on her left eye and the deep scar on the cheek. It was still a bit of a story behind that scar from the boys who were with the Delancy brothers. BUt she walked on with her head held high.
She spotted a familiar bowlers hat and some bronze hair underneath it, smiling she knew how it was :Drifter. She walked over behind him without making a sound, placed her hands over his eyes and kissed his cheek.
"Guess who?" She whispered in his ear with her scottish accent.

Drifter jumped a bit but not much, he hadn't been expecting any one to come up behind him, let alone place there hands over his eyes, but a smile pulled on his features when he heard the person talk, he would recognize that voice anywhere. Flicking away the match and making sure the cigarette wouldn't fall from his lips he grabbed her hands with his and chuckled a bit turning around. "Heya Doll," He said taking her hands from his eyes so he could see her. His smile faded a bit and he pulled her closer looking at her shiner and new scar. "What happened ta ya?" Drifter asked concern clear in his voice, as he took his cigarette from his chapped lips and placed his hand carefully on her cheek.
He was mad now there was no doubt about it, knitting his eyebrows together he grounded his teeth, who the hell decided it was perfectly fine to hit a lady? "Who did this?" He asked looking straight in her eyes, he would fine the bastards that hurt her and rough them up twice as bad. Looking around he noticed she was by herself, "What are ya doin' out here by ya self? Didn't Cowboy make any rules?"

"Hey breathe! Breathe!" Piper said in a panicked tone as she saw him getting angrier by the second. She didn't want him t et furious with her, and i was her fault for walking alone.
"He did go over the rules, and I know I should be with someone but don't yell at me, I already went through enough stuff to keep me up at night. After I got this." PIper started, pointing to her deep scar on her cheek, " I was talking to Specs and he, well....kiss me."

Drifter took in another deep breathe and placed his cigarette back in his mouth taking a couple puffs to control himself. Looking away from Piper for a second be let out the smoke and took another long drag. Nodding his head he looked back at her calmer now. "Sorry," He said quietly. "With everythin' goin' on I worry about ya." He said tucking her hair behind her ear. He wasn't mad at her, and he didn't mean for her to think he was yelling at her, he really needed to learn how to control his emotions more.
Making a face a bit he looked at her, "Specs?" Taking another drag off his cigarette he held it out for her to smoke it if she wanted, he pushed the thought of hurting Specs for kissing the girl out of his head momentarily, he didn't know what Piper would do if he gave the Manhattan boy a good knock. If Cowboy explained the rules already he wasn't going to say anything about them. Taking her hand he gave her a reassuring squeeze. "Lets change the subject, you pick."

Piper nodded her head as she took a long drag from his cigarette and felt better already. She felt his fingers push some of her hair away from her green eyes and she smiled, remembering the feeling. When he asked to change the subject, Piper just wrapped her arms around him and held him close to her, resting her head on his chest and breathing him in. It may of looked odd, but she missed his warmth and presence. He felt like home to her.
"I missed ya." She whispered aloud to him as she held him close.

Drifter gave her a little smile as she took his cigarette, it was his last one but he didn't mind. It was amazing how just smoking could relax you and make you feel ten times better. He blinked in surprise for a second when she hugged him but instantly warmed up and wrapped his arms around her. She was so small. Placing a soft kiss on her head, he slowly but gently rested his chin on her red hair.
"I missed ya too," He said as he rubbed her back.

Piper smiled as she felt his lips against her hair. It felt peaceful being with Drifter at the harbor. With thins going hectic and the whole Specs situation, PIper felt horrible about what happened. She felt a tear escaping her eye and rolling down her cheek, not wanting to remember the previous actions that happened to her just recently. She wanted a better life for herself, and maybe Drifter can be in it as well.

Drifter continued to rub her back for a bit more and then pulled back to look at her a gentle smile on his features. "Hey no cryin' now." He said lightly as he wiped away the tear with his thumb. "Let's go for a walk." He suggested as he took her hand in his and started off to the left of where they were standing. Drifter racked his brain for something to say that would take her mind off of what had happened. Giving her hand a soft squeeze he flashed her his usual charming grin. He had decided a while go that he wanted to ask her something, but was unsure of when the perfect moment to ask would come.

Piper nodded her head and they both walked together silently for awhile. She felt his hand in hers, holding her softly and gently as if she was going to break if he squeezed too hard. As they walked Piper smiled about the previous times they had together, how they had their little blushing game that would always make her smile and how she would fix his hair constantly. She looked up at him as they walked, seeing his face in a yearning state. Drifter looked as if he was going to say something but stopped instead.
"You look rather handsome today." PIper told him aloud as she looked from Drifter to the view in front of her.

Drifter chuckled a bit when she said that, and scratched the back of his neck nervously as he looked down at her. "And you look beautiful." He said as he stopped walking and moved so he was in front of her. He was going to just come right out and ask, it seemed like a better idea then delaying it any further. He really liked Piper, every time she was around they had so much fun. She always seemed to be on his mind.
Slowly he brought a hand up and pushed her red locks away from her face again, his finger tips brushing over her skin. Taking a quick glance at the shiner on her eye to the cut on her face, he felt horrible that he wasn't there to protect her. Pushing that thought from his mind he took in a deep breath and looked her straight in the eye. It was now or never. "Piper, will you be my girl?"

Piper felt her heart swelling when he asked her to be his girl. Piper was always at fault when it came to finding a boy who truly liked her for her vibrant and tough personality. Drifter was different from all of the boys, completely different. Piper smiled so widely her cheeks were hurting from the wide view of her teeth. And she did something she wanted to do for some time. She perched up on her toes and kissed him square on the mouth. It was a simply kiss, but it showed him her answer.
Piper pulled away and kept her smile on her face, looking up at him into his eyes.
"Nothing would make me happier." She replied in her thick scottish accent.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here, Morris?" Oscar walked out of the shadows, making a mock gagging sound at the pathetically sweet scene. It was enough to give a man a tooth ache. Folding his arms he tipped his heat and walked around the couple, his hands in his pockets.
"Hey there Dollface, how about planting one right here too." He patted his own cheek and turned before she could think to hit him. That would be one hell of a mistake.
