"Really? You wanted to meet me?" He was suprised at the comment, not a lot of people wanted to even talk to Melody, let alone meet him. Shrugging, he answered confused, "I don't really know. I don't like country, but I like singing solos. I duet would be fine, though."

~New Day~
Kat pushed open the door with her foot, looking into the main room of the lodging house curiously. She didn't see anyone about, but entered anyway, moving over to an empty sofa, dropping her bag on the ground as she sat down, leaning back into the cushions.
She smiled at how good it felt to finally sit in a comfy seat for once.

Starlight just couldn't believe that her twin sister Moonlight was gonna be getting married to a Brooklyn boy! And Star is the older twin, she always thought that she was gonna be getting married before her sister but no not at all.
Star pushed open the door to the lodging house and walked in. Seeing nobody there except for a girl that might not be that much younger or older that her. Star sat down on a chair next to the sofa. "Hi." said Star as she looked over at the girl.

Kat peeked out from underneath her hat and grinned at the smiley girl. She shifted up a bit and pushed her hat back so that she could see.
"Hi! You live heah?"

Star looked up from her hands and smiled sweetly, "Yeah I do." She took her cabby hat off and ran a hand through her hair, causing it to get messy.
(( sorry it took me so long))

[New Day - for Prince]
Styx burst through the door, letting it slam against the wall. "Prince!" He scanned the room hurriedly but saw no sign of his leader. He peeked into the kitchen and saw a few other newsies, but not Prince. "Any a you sprogs* seen Prince?" They all shook their heads. "Damn."
He wandered back into the main room and looked around again. Maybe she was upstairs...

Prince came down from her room when she heard the callin' out. "What is it Styx?" she asked as she worked her way down the stairs. She reached the main floor and folded her arms. She looked at him expectantly eyebrows raised. she couldn't wait to hear this one.
It was an extra hot day, so everyone's tempers already had a head start. She'd had such a "great" day thus far! ...now she needed Styx here breaking down her door to tell his leader that he skinned his knee. She wasn't in the mood.

When Prince came down the stairs, Styx felt relief wash over him. Prince'd know what to do! The next second the panic welled up in him again almost stronger then before.
"Jaysus! I've been looking all over for ya! Nike's missing, I can't find her anywhere! She went to Medda's yesterday, then she never came back last night and i've been running all over 'Hattan looking for her all morning, but no one's seen her! I met this kid named Don't Ask who's a black smith and he said that some of Jack's kids are missing too and that Jem and Nike could just be the beginning of our problems! What should we do, prince?! You're our leader for Chrissake, what the bloody hell are we going to do?!" So maybe "panicking" was putting it mildly...

She looked at him with a stone cold gaze. "My... someone's passionate," she said in a deep growling voice. She was in no mood to be screamed at about some of her best kids missing.
"Listen ta me okay?" I talked ta Jack. Not since Nike's gone missin', but I already talked to him, we're lookin' into it," she said in a calm voice, but under the surface the pot was boiling over. She wasn't leader for nothin', and if this kid wanted some serious trouble he'd turn his "panic" down and try to relax, and be helpful, rather than screaming at the the people who are trying to do something.

Prince's calm confidence was contagious and Styx began breathing easier just listening to her. He leaned over and rested his hands on his knees, took a few deep breaths, then stood up and took a cig out of his pocket--lighting it as he talked. "Ya already talked ta Cowboy?" He took a deep drag, allowing it to calm him further. "What'd he have ta say and how many a his kids are missin'?"

"Last I knew there were several," she said. "I don't think we discussed a number, but there were several," she said arms still folded, glad he was calming down. Very glad. "Yes, I realize Nike is missing. And yes, I knew Jem has been gone for days now, thank you. that does not mean I can go running through the streets of new york screaming at every building I see, hoping that they're in there. We need to take a little more tactical look at this," she said.
"You could help," she said. "Help keep an eye on the younger ones, and the girls too," she suggested. "Keep them calm, keep them safe, set an example," she said. "You do that, chances are better that we'll loose less people," she said. "Think you can manage?"

Styx grinned sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah, I think I can do that." He'd make sure to keep the other kids calm and keep an especially close eye on the girls--they seemed more vulnerable to him now that Nike was missing. He looked back up at Prince, "It also might be a good idea for us to take a roll call or somethin' before we lock up every night."

She looked at him. "I can keep track thanks," she said. "We have a book... that's what it's for... people don't sign in... I'll worry," she had been checking it. she wasn't stupid... it was a good idea to keep up to date on things like this. She needed to. She had to at this point it was the only option.
"But thanks... for the suggestion," she said honestly. "Any others would be highly appreciated. I'm all for doing what it takes to keep people here, safe, and sound," she said.

He nodded and took another drag on his cig. "If i come up with anything I'll let ya know right away." Then Styx smiled weakly at her, "Sorry for freaking out earlier. I'm just so used to being with Nike and knowing where she is that...I don't know what to do! I guess i feel kinda lost without her." He shrugged and looked away, willing his eyes not to start watering. That was the last thing he needed, especially in front of Prince. Clearing his throat he made eye contact again. I'm gonna go back to Medda's and see if she even made it there last night; find out what i can. But no more screaming, i promise." He grinned crookedly at her.

Prince nodded proudly at him. "Sounds good, if she didn't make it we can trace her from there maybe. Figure out the route she took, see if there's signs that she was there, stuff like that, we might be able to figure a few things out. Good thinking," she said nodding. "Be careful," she added, just in case, "and good luck," she said with a smile now. At least the kid had wised up. She may not have been in the best of moods as of yet, but at this point, she was willing to look like it, since one of her kids was one who was going to be helping, rather than screaming through the streets, or coming to the leader with anymore questions, she was proud... of the kid she nearly punched.
